I’m about 120 pages into it so far I’m loving it. I’m not much of a reader but this book has me hooked. I’m more into the supernatural so hopefully it won’t fall flat for me lol! Great review though
Good review Brittany! For me this was a book of two halves, one was enthralling and ambiguous, the other was heavyhanded, black and white, and overlong. Really great start.
It depends if its clear supernatural from the start its better but if they introduce supernatural elements at the end it feel cheap and seems to come out of nowhere
I'm with you on the supernatural aspects in thrillers. If it's a mystery/ thriller I want to have a good old "whodunnit" or an exploration of the places people will go to to get what they want, it's that human aspect that I really like. Yet I love fantasy and sci-fi! So it does seem a bit odd.
I totally agree that the book started off at 5 stars and went downhill. Broke my heart though because The Perks of Being a Wallflower is one of my all-time favorite books and this is that author's only other work.
I was going back and forth on reading this one and I haven’t. I think my initial feelings along with this review helped solidify that I’m not going to.

But the beginning was so, so good! I’ll still read from him in the future!
I just finished reading the book I was quite surprised how much I did get hooked into the story glad I read the book around Christmas time

I'm thinking about giving this book a try this year
The repetition of phrases and sentences drove me crazy. It has no business being a doorstopper that it is. Gave it one star.

I JUST finished it...i gave it a 3/5 stars..i thought it was just ok..not great writing 😒
I thought the first half was better then the last half...and certain lines or sayings were repeated over and over and it got annoying
