    Welcome back! In this video I share about the Montessori method of homeschooling. If you've never heard of it before, the key components are teaching students life skills with hands-on activities that they explore on their own without teacher instruction. This approach promotes a child's self-confidence and independence from a young age. It gives them freedom to explore and learn at their own pace and in their own way. This is a really great choice for homeschool for beginners because you don't need to buy any homeschool curriculum for this method!

    I remember watching this when i started doing Montessori at home with my 5 month old and now i started watching you whilst looking at our own home education journey hopefully as i couldn't find any education options in our area. I am so excited to have this life with our children now that i never thought was an option for us. Most of your unschooling or homeschooling videoes have given me so much hope for this life as a family.

    While I like your thoughts here, color counters are literally against everything Montessori taught lol she was very specific that when counting items to learn number sense the items need to be the exact same (color, shape, size, etc.) That way they fully understand they aren't associating numbers with anything other than amounts.

    Thank you for your video!
    I've been trying to use Montessori for my baby, now almost 3yo. 💪 But, I still don't understand how to fit it with Preschool and school itself. 😩 Because every grade has a specific "curriculum" or "contents" that have to be covered in a year. How do I homeschool my lo in P-school, Kindergarten, and so on without following a curriculum? 😞 I know this might be very obvious to you all, but I really need help to start thinking about how to teach her without a curriculum. 🥺 Thank you!

    Is this a better curriculum for special education kids?

    Yay 🤗 I love Montessori. The only thing I don't like is the (general) absence of fantasy and imagination. What do you think about that?

    • @BethPavlik
      @BethPavlik  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The great thing about homeschooling is that you can add in whatever you want! You can totally do the Montessori method of teaching life skills and having stations for the kids to pick and choose from but also incorporate imagination and fantasy. You’re the boss! 😃

      Hey, just wanted to chime in and mention that for children under 6 the Montessori method is based in reality but after that the child moves to more abstract thinking and fantasy can be incorporated. All that said, it's rare to find a strict Montessorian many incorporate fantasy into their day to day.

      I show them what to do but then they can use them however they want after that. :)
