Thank you for this video. As a beginner, it is nice to know that expensive materials are not necessary. Very beautiful rendering of a magnificent tree🙂
Great advice I agree wholeheartedly, drawing and painting for me is relaxing whilst enjoying what I do,with the materialsi I have built up over the last 50 years.
I have watched most of your videos pertaining to colored pencil and some related to pastels. I have just started my art journey at 52 and am starting at zero. I have never been good at drawing but have always wanted to learn. I really enjoy your videos. To be honest, they are much too advanced for me to attempt, but, they inspire me to keep improving. I have watched several of your landscape drawings multiple times and if I could 'like' every time I watched them, I would. My goal is to be able to recreate/interpret a photo I took in colored pencil. It was a photo of a waterfall on one of my best memories when I was in my late 20's. I've got a long way to go before I can do that, but your art and your videos inspire me. If I fail, maybe I will have to commission someone to do it, but I am going to give it a try...who knows, maybe I'll finally learn how to draw after all?
just found your tutorials absolutely love them, your way of drawing would be new to me and i want to try it, ,,i have found the gessel,,but believe it or not,,i cannot find anything but BLACK wet sand paper,,,even at hard ware stores,,should i just use gessel on my white paper ive been using ,,Thank You
i see your tutorials and that i can join,,do you help via communication ?? once a person joins ? i tried the clouds and they stunk, i would like answers to questions as a member, will you do that to help become better at this ?
I've watched several of your videos now and I really like your style and how realistic they are. Do you have any advice for someone starting out attempting a similar style with not experience?
“Relax, draw, use the materials that are available to you. Try not to take yourself too seriously.” Thank you for your straightforwardness. I feel that a lot of artists (both novice and advanced) can stand to be reminded to place the focus on perfecting their craft Instead of falling for the consumerism that is extremely perverse across TH-cam. I myself had to reign it in when I realized that my collection of art supplies was larger than the amount of actual art that I created. We need this kind of honesty from more content creators all across the board, not just in the art community.
Hello my friend. It has been a while since I have commented. I have been here though. I am subbed and check out every one of your' videos. I admire the ease you layout and draw such beautiful drawings. You have your' own personal technique down to a science. I try to mimic your' work but of course I am no where your' level. Like I've said before I worked in Tech. Illustration, Rapidograph pen and ink. It was my thing for years. I'm glad you made this video. I have, like you said, tried many different mediums, and types of colored pencils. I thought it was because of my level of talent that I never really noticed a great difference. Just harder and softer colored pencils make a difference to me. Thanks for your' videos. You are an inspiration to all. Love this tree, beautiful! John in Florida. PS I have tried and do like sand paper very much. Thanks again.

Amazing scene
Also I am to be 71 this year and my hands shake a lot. I a trying to use that annoyance to make my drawings look more natural.🙂
Que lástima lo del pino, es un magnífico homenaje. 😍😍
From where you are buying your staffs??
Is the clear gesso the same to draw on , as the sandpapir ? I like to see your work.✏️🖍👍🇩🇰
Sandpaper is better in my opinion.

Just give yourself to it and enjoy the process
