Winter Landscape in Black and White Pencil

  • Here's a landscape drawing in a slightly different technique. I used Faber Castell Polychromos black and white pencil and Koh-i-Noor Gioconda black and white pencil. The surface was 1 1000 grit waterproof sandpaper.

      @@leetau8429 for complete beginners who can barely draw shapes no. for beginner artists who want to get better at specific media and better at understanding and applying basic concepts like lighting and shadows, value, contrast, edges etc, yes.

    Fixative or not, that's a stunning picture. I am also appreciative of the 1000 grit sandpaper use. Cannot wait to try that myself !

    clever use of the pencil for the bark of the tree. do you seal with fixative your work? i have found that depending on the kind of pencil it may darken or even smear lightly the colors.

      Yrah, I do. Koh i Noor fixative works with charcoal and graphite. With pastel not so much. I prefer Conte there.
