That is hard… but just think to yourself - it’s is just paper… it’s just paint… what is the worst you could do? Hate it? Then punch out some hearts, use it for collage, or cut it into other smaller pieces you love. 😊

I love this colour palette. This was so interesting to watch develop. I love a bit of shine so I think I might have worked a bit of copper metallic paint in somewhere. Love the pieces you chose to frame! I was thinking “what is she thinking” a few times during that process but, I could see how much fun you were having. When using oxide sprays you get nice effects if you splatter droplets on it and then pick them up with a dry paper towel. You can also spritz the spray and let it dry before going over it with something else, they need time to oxidize. Lots of inspiration in your video!💕🇨🇦

After watching and rewatching some of your videos, I have planned a surprise art day with a friend. We have been doing creative projects for about 20 years but we mostly create handmade greeting cards. She has not watched your videos so creating abstract intuitive art will be a new challenge for her. (She’s a planner; I am not😀) We gel print to create backgrounds for our cards. I saw an old city near what at one time a working pier, now delipidated with neglect and age. It was like I was there looking at it ... the buildings and pier was reflecting its gloom into dark water. Then...upsssie....you put grayish white on it....and it was suddenly gone like a dream.....

I love your attitude: if it’s not a masterpiece, we can just cut it out! Wow you are right! I can just cut it out and make cards!! I am so stressed to ruin things that i hold myself back. So yesterday i bought blank cards! So now, I do not care so much. I will get back to do some watercolours! I used to but got a bit discouraged after a couple of meh pieces. Thanks, watching your videos really broke some barriers i made in my brain. Sending you lots of love and i am really thankful.
So glad that resonates with you!’ I used to get so mad when I would sit to make art and nothing good came of it. And I’d be mad for days. After changing my mindset about that… it broke a lot of barriers for me and now I love going to make some art. Everyday is a good paint day… mostly… still a few duds in there… so I stop when nothing is working and go binge Netflix… usually happens when I’m tired and trying to force it. 😊

The 1st view you cut out is awe inspiring...it looks like a reflections in an evening drizzle...omg...the depth in your third choice...unreal...next as you were "hunting", I kept seeing Japanese snow topped mountains.
Wondering if the oxide spray could be sprayed over a stencil then activated? Verde is magic to me.

Have you ever tried using the viewfinders you made on a diagonal instead of portrait or landscape? There was a piece I would have loved to see on a diagonal right before you cut the last piece out. Guess I’ll just have to try it myself! (Oh no,). I LOVE your experiments and unbridled enthusiasm. The art that comes out of just playing is amazing!

Is nice. I have a bird feeder and we have blue jays, cardinals, and even parrots come to eat. Is relaxing especially when I create in peace and quiet or put my 80s music.

I’m surprised by how much I loved this since I’m all about color! Just so you know I get all into this when you are choosing what to cut up…I’m like don’t miss that corner…and thankfully you grabbed that one too. Ha ha!! Now I’m putting those sprays on my wish list! Also, where did you get the vinyl table surface? I’m constantly looking for the right table for my still life photos and I don’t have room for tons of tables…plus I need to spend that money on art supplies now! 😉
Haha! I love that you were trying to help cut the right piece!! The surface is a 2’ x 4’ vinyl photography backdrop I got off Etsy from the Swanky Prints shop. I’ve ordered several times from them. I like their backdrops. 😊

I have some khadi paper and I really enjoy it. I just love the texture, and knowing it's handmade, it's inspiring and just makes me want to paint or create. The only thing with it that I have found is that it's a bit fragile, the edges will pull up with tape and it stays wet for a while which can be good but then not at the same time. Now, I'm on to watching your video.
I did another project with it yesterday - which will be coming up soon on TH-cam... and I have decided I don't love it. It is fragile.. and it buckles when you are painting which makes it hard to continue with all the huge bumps and wrinkles... so i might not be using it for more projects like this. It was a good lesson to learn! 😊

Would you use a fixative on the bookmark as the oxides are water reactive even when dry?
Definitely. I’d go ahead and spray the finished piece for things I was going to use like that.

Hey, Denise - I must have and use oxide sprays weekly. Began this journey many years ago. I love the grunge. I want to send you a photo of a piece I recently finished on an 18x18” hardboard. I use white plates… usually square appetizer plates cause I like the shape, and disposable palette paper depending on what I am painting with. 😊
