    YUM, had this and Dots' zuchinni tater tots for lunch today. Both were great. I cooked my pork in the slow cooker for 9 hours instead of oven because I was busy yesterday. Also used a KETO BBQ tomato based sauce instead of the mustard. Thank you Dot!!!

      That's awesome, love how you're mixing it up. And those tots were a great recent discovery :) Husband can't get enough.

    For your oven setting, did you put it on bake or broil?

    • @purplebeard806
      @purplebeard806 ปีที่แล้ว

      Remove bone, season the pork, Brown the pork, fry onions, pour in a beer, put the meat back in, Bake at 300F for 5-6 hours. Enjoy!

    I have that same pot. I am going to try it this way but with some slightly different spices. Do you set it at 350? Did I hear that correctly?

    To deglaze the pan and add flavor a 1/4 cup of white wine.

    Hi what size Dutch oven do you have?

      4.5 quart :)

      Would it have fit as one piece in the 7.5 qt model

    Can this be done in a crock pot?

    • @Dot2TrotsLowCarbLiving
      @Dot2TrotsLowCarbLiving  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah, you can. Use about a cup of broth and cook it for about 8-10 hrs. Just check on it once in a while. When it's done, all of the meat will pull away from the bone. If it's still sticking, just cook it a little longer (if you've gone the full time).

      Ugh, just get a dutch oven. I don't know why people buy into the idea of crockpots/ airfryers

    I want to add brown sugar. Do you know how Much I would use?

    • @purplebeard806
      @purplebeard806 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dont, instead fry onions and add some wine or beer to deglaze, that's enough sugar..

    I never bought into the theory that fat adds flavor. Any fat I chewed on was flavorless and disgusting. I always remove the fat cap and my pulled pork tastes delicious.

    • @purplebeard806

      If fat didnt add flavour kobe beef wouldnt be popular, (and expensive) sorry but that is the truth

    • @michaelhorne382

      Fat is good for you! It is sugar that causes heart attacks by inflaming the arteries; leading to calcified plaque buildup caused by the inflammation. You then have what’s called atherosclerosis; caused by Americas addiction to a sugar laced diet.

    • @carlking8530
      @carlking8530 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@michaelhorne382 No truer words were ever spoken. The AMA, ADA, AHA, all have Americans on a diet that leads directly to heart disease, higher risk of strokes, and to insulin resistance and eventually to diabetes.

    • @michaelhorne382

      @@carlking8530 Thanks! I have been on as close to a sugar free diet as possible for a few years. I try to educate all of my friends and family on the seriousness of the sugar epidemic that is poisoning America and nobody wants to listen; they are all addicted to sugar and the truth hurts them so bad that they would rather inflame their arteries and consume these foods and take these pharmaceutical drugs to treat the symptoms of their health issues but not treat the source: the sugars and the rancid cooking oils! Now, deep fried foods in overheated and reused rancid cooking oil is another topic also which contributes and adds on to the sugary poisoning America is experiencing.
