I just found your channel this morning as I was looking for insight on L&D nursing, and what’s so hilarious to me is that I’ve already seen videos of you in like three different specialties🤣 but I love it so much because you’re filling me with so much hope in the ability to find an area of nursing that I truly can enjoy and be happy to show up to every day. Signed a fed up two year old MedSurg nurse LOL
You move fast Amy! Haha, I'm like wait, GI? Did I miss some videos? Lol. Anyways, glad to see you doing what is best for you. I love your videos, so authentic and informative.
I left inpatient nursing fully. I was recommended to pick up some outpatient surgery center shifts to make some extra money as our wedding is in 3 weeks. It’s an extra $500-700+ a shift, and it’s one shift at a time. Definitely not back in the hospital or doing true bedside!
Girl i am doing a midwifery course i started watching your videos after reading the caption DAY IN A LIFE OF LABOR AND DELIVERY NURSE. Can you please tell me if you are a midwife or what because now your captions are PACU nurse. What is a PACU nurse and Aesthetic nurse
I' so love all your videos I've been here since labor and delivery days but I love everything you do iam a nursing student thank you for Sharing medley if you could do a video that would be awesome thanks for inspiring me.
I’m so happy to hear this! Nursing has taken me to so many different places and Medely has been a fun one. I have a video on Medely all written up, just need to sit down and film it. 🥰🫶🏼
Please do a video about medely! I’m interested in picking up shifts but it seems like they never state what unit or specialty the posts are so I haven’t been picking up even though I have created an account and gone through the initial process of phone interview etc
I’ve been thinking about it! I got married about a year ago and have been working two jobs, just a bit overwhelmed so I haven’t been posting 😅 I still read all the comments! What videos would you like to see? 🥰
@@AmyBales oh okay! Totally understand! I just started watching you just a couple weeks ago lol but really enjoy your videos! I’m thinking about becoming a labor and delivery nurse (much later in life because I’m just a sophomore in high school but want to start learning early!) and just want to make sure this is what I want to do so, If you haven’t posted enough already then to post more about your job! If you’re still doing labor and delivery of course, or just different nursing jobs in general! And if you’re tired from posting about that, lol, then maybe just daily vlogs and normal day in the life! I will definitely watch them! 😊
@@AmyBalesomg glad you read these! I’m revisiting your videos because I’m a year into bedside and about to quit for surgery rn and aesthetics nursing….. maybe like how to balance mom and work life could be a cool video. Or different type of aesthetics locations? Or the role of social media as an aesthetic nurse and if there are some aesthetics positions where instagram/etc isn’t necessary?
I just graduated nursing school and honestly have no desire to work with the high school mean girls. I saw some openings for PACU nurse night shift and im like 🤔 would that be bad as a new grad? I just dont know
I'm curious why there are no cna's there to help you make the beds? I love how uou are so proactive to make bed packs for yourself and for the people working the next day... way to go above and beyond! Ps. I really appreciate your videos, how you always share the good and the bad of nursing.
Thank you for this comment! Where I’m at in this video is just a same day surgery center, so there are no techs or extra staff. It’s a smaller place. I’ve been to surgery centers that do have techs to help take patients out or to make beds, but usually it’s one or two and they get swamped so fast. I was an ED tech for a while and I learned how stretched thin techs/cna’s are! They work so hard for so little.
Hi Amy! ☺ New follower here and truly enjoy all of your nursing content! 💓Would you mind posting a video about the pros and cons of working for Medley and the type of shifts they offer? How the pay is like? Can a new grad nurse get hired by them? Would you recommend it? I would really like more information as I am very interested in picking this up as a side/second job ☺
I’m thinking of taking an endoscopy RN position but I was previously doing care coordination (a lot of sitting) and endoscopy told me to be prepared to be on my feet for 10 hrs a day. I’m a little nervous because I’m out of shape. Any tips?
First comment gang gang nursing gang 🎉 Are you still doing aesthetic nursing? Are you just picking up hospital shifts for additional income or because you really can’t stay out the hospital 🤔🤣🤣 big fan I’m taking my HESI this morning!
Good luck! I am still doing aesthetic nursing 🥰 I’m using Medely to pick up some per diem shifts at surgery centers! The pay is really good and it’s just once shift at a time, I highly recommend it to nurses looking for a little extra income!
@@AmyBales I get so silly as I was watching the video I was like, well it woulda been helpful to actually watch the video before making my first comment gang lol 🤦🏽♀️

I know right. I thought she left that side of nursing all together.

You mentioned making a separate Medely video. Do you have that link?

Where did you go?
Hi Amy I am labor nurse and would love to do this did you have any training or do they just throw you in?
Is this a PRN job? How often are you picking up, and are you picking up on the weekend?
It’s per diem, it’s one day at a time through a nursing agency called Medely! I just recorded a video on it that’ll answer a lot of questions.
What does a registry nurse mean? I’m in nursing school now and it’s so interesting learning about the different areas
Sorry I commented before finishing the video and before you explained it a bit😂

So, what do you do with patients who say no pain killers under any circumstances?
Refer to the anesthesiologist and doctor/surgeon! They can sometimes do procedures with no anesthesia depending on the procedure.
Salud Desde Colombia Me Encanta Tus Videos ❤️
If you are registery do you have to work a set amount of shifts
hi, i'm also a PACU nurse. which state are you in?
