Imagine being one of the paramedics and seeing Gordon Ramsay standing over a man laying on a kitchen floor
Is it true that in the USA they don't have paramedics in ambulances?

I've met Gordon in person at one of his London restaurants. I've seen him in action - he does yell and he will get in your face if you screw up, but he'll also step in and help if you ask for it. That is the mark not only of a great chef, but a responsible and caring manager - they're not supposed to coddle you, but help you realize your potential.
Its been several years now, but watching him work in person just for that one night? As a chef myself, I consider that one of the greatest honors I've ever had.
Just don't talk back when he's mad.
@@ushakirantonjam2827 Eh, he's not alone in that. Most chefs will tell you that they only want to here three answers in the kitchen. "Yes, Chef." "No, Chef." And "It'll never happen again, Chef."

I have never seen Gordon so scared, you can tell he is panicking but trying to keep as calm as possible. I know a lot of the mean stuff he says and does are just for TV and that in real life he is a sweetheart and a loving, kind, and beautiful person. I love this man.
I don't know about it being just for TV, that's just how you teach people lessons, his assertive nature is a quality instead of an act.
He snaps and yells at those who need snapping and yelling, yet he is soft and kind to those who need that. There was an episode of hell's kitchen where he was annoyed at an owner but could tell he was struggling and was doing his best so he helped him gently, the guy even broke down crying which Gordon seemed to have seen coming, yet absolutely destroyed his careless staff that was the real reason the restaurant was failing.
He is just a professional leader, he isn't one of the top most famous chefs for nothing.

During the conversation the chef seemed pale and disoriented the whole time, and I think Gordon knew something was up about twenty seconds into the conversation, you can tell his tone changes pretty quickly when he realizes something's wrong
You can see how he gradually looses color on his face, so sad. I hope he's fine
I recognize this state of fainting as I was very very close to it due to me occasionally getting low blood sugar falls. It starts off sudden, like a warm wave washing over you. Losing focus, reflexes and attention. Distorted sounds and voices, your vision going blurry and out of focus. My skin turning so pale I'd be almost a vampire, and blue lips. The first times it started to happen it was in stores and we didn't really have anything with us, so mom picked a banana and let me eat it even if we hadn't paid for it yet. Nobody really said anything. I guess they understood my situation enough. It was a reoccurring state that my mom often catched me in before I even knew what was actually up. Nowadays I bring dextrose sugar with me when I'm going out to avoid it. It is a very scary feeling of suddenly losing control within what seems like barely a few minutes.
@@nardalis4832 I’ve been there myself and what you describe is spot on and extremely accurate! Not very pleasant to experience or for others to see
I was about to say the same thing. Once the chef says he is tired you can tell he means it. And Gordon saw that and turned to compassion
@@nardalis4832 I've passed out numerous times in many situations including all the places I've worked (and I've worked in kitchens too). It was probably an anxiety response this guy had called Vasovagal Syncope. It's simply where you're blood pressure drops rapidly not allowing enough oxygenated blood to get to the brain. The brain then forces you to pass out in hopes of getting you flat on the ground so the blood doesn't have to fight gravity and re-gain control of your breathing. The only way to combat it is simply focus on calm proper breathing and lying down if possible. It's a subconscious problem so not easily fixed (takes months to years to train yourself against it). Of course you can get relaxant drugs (like Lorazepam which is what I have) to prevent from passing out. Vasovagal is just a generic term though as it can be triggered by anything but most commonly anxiety. A lot of people get triggered also by the sight of blood.
It's unlikely to be sugar/diabetic related as it clearly began when Gordon started talking to him, which is why I go the way of anxiety. He was not scared of Gordon, just nervous about talking about this stuff and probably being on camera.
“You are a spoiled little magpie.”
I love how he says that so casually
3:16
@@GehtEuchFckn So you are telling me, that his very first action should not have been him calling for help, or going down to assist him....he should be worried about the cameras around him....the cameras aren't going to help, the cameras are not going to magically revive him. But yes, lets not focus on the fact that this man fainted from stress and most likely his medication.
Even worser? I will take it you are probably not english primary, so I will let your spellings slide, but your attitude. Once he passed out, called for an ambulance, the video stops then starts up again after the medics get there....or did you only watch a bit of it and then immediately come down to play the judge, calling him worse than the owner just because he was what....filming? Yeah, fuck off ya wanker.
@@GehtEuchFckn the only rotten behaviour is yours. If there is a gap, from the time the man goes down till he is in the ambulance, who is to say they didn't help. It's crazy how much information Gordon gave to everyone involved. He was so on the ball. Remained so calm and collected. Got the police called, got the guy in a safe position, didn't create a scene. He's a smart one.
Well after years of being a head chef and shouting short and concise orders at multiple people I think he’s had some experience
Being a head chef/business owner means that gordon has to stay calm in the face of an emergency and take charge of a situation because if someone dies or becomes seriously injured then whatever happens to them is his responsibility. The calmer you stay in a serious situation the faster you can act and potentially save a life.

@Big Jones Not really. This is Gordon Ramsey, anyone who willingly invites him to their restaurant should expect critique as harsh as can get. And despite how harsh he can be, you'll actually notice in most of his videos that he's actually a super sweet guy towards the workers unless they act so incompetent they get rightfully roasted to hell and back for it. If they don't want to be stressed out, they should either mentally prepare for the worst or just not bring him to their restaurant at all, just about that easy.

I have such respect for Gordon. He was extremely calm and collected when the chef fainted
It just shows the humanity behind Gordon. Yeah, it’s funny to listen to him say people’s food looks like shit, but he has a soft side that this incident showed.
Maybe that’s a bad thing he’s to calm 🧐🤨
Yea he did a real good job watching that guy faint lol
I mean even before that I’d say. Its almost like he has some hidden awareness when he is dealing with a very fraile person. His demeanor and tone changes. Even before he passed out Gordon was talking to him more like a concerned parent than a pissed off chef

I love how Gordon Ramsay can be rough yet when someone is in need he's already taking care of them
I love your profile pic. Anti and dark are so awesome. ❤❤❤ also yes i have so much respect for Gordon Ramsay he's such a sweet heart. An amazing man. ❤
Ppl see Gordon as a monster. The dark horse of the food industry. But actually he's just a human being like all of us but being a busy man, he has to keep check of his schedule as well so he tends to get frustrated when someone wastes his time. But truthfully he would react like anyone would when he sees someone in need.
Kirsten Holtz (LHS 17 Alumni) Gordon is true human
What do you expect him to say? _”Oh for chrissake! You gonna pass out now?? R u takin a piss? You barely know what hard work is ya old twat!”_ ?
Master Epps Returns lol right?!
Gordon may be a hard chef to please, but at the same time the man is compassionate and does care for both well being of his staff, the people he’s helping, and the customers (the nice ones anyway). He’s human. He’s hard on people because it’s what they need. They need that push to do better
The fact that Gordon was calm and able to actually assess what the hell just happened in and from the accident, including the injury that came after the chef fainted is amazing. He knows first aid and does the necessary treatment and rushed everybody to call emergency. I for one, a simple human, would have panicked.
Hi hello, Trained First Responder here. You'd be surprised what you're capable of in the moment with the right training. When an organization like Red Cross trains you in First-Aid/CPR/AED, their entire goal is to get you to know the procedure like the back of your hand, so that when an emergency happens, instead of panicking when fight or flight kicks in, you react on muscle memory and stay as calm as Gordon.
Case in point: when the chef first collapsed, the first thing Gordon did was examine his expression for any telltale signs of something serious, and then ask of he's on medication. That's two parts of the physical assessment acronym, SAMPLE. Gordon has very clearly been trained in First-Aid for one of the jobs he's had over the years, and he stays up-to-date on his training. He saw the chef collapse and instantly went into the very next steps on the procedure checklist.
Even if you don't think you could stay calm in a situation like that, I'd highly recommend you take a First-Aid class. Not only is First-Aid a pretty freaking crucial skill to know in the moment, that training will also teach you how to remain calm like Gordon in a medical emergency.
@@mikkurzhal7390 thanks for your reply. I really wish I took the classes seriously when I was in high school. Right now, I don't even remember how to properly conduct CPR or how deep should I go for chest compressions, lol. I'm honestly embarrassed and I wish I knew more.
@@ichiroutakashima4503 Honestly they update the training yearly there's a chance that what you learned in high school isn't recognized or scientifically ideal anymore. But as for CPR:
-- 30 compressions, ~100-120bpm (or to the tune of Stayin Alive or Another One Bites the Dust), compressed about 1/3 of the way down
-- 2 rescue breaths, and make sure the airway is open (either tilt the head back, or put two fingers on each side of the head right at the earlobes and pull the lower jawbone forwards towards the ceiling)
-- Repeat until one of the 5 Reasons You Stop Care happens
-- NOTE: If you're working with a child or infant, remember that the lungs are balloons and if you breathe too much air into them they'll pop. If you're working with a child or infant and there's a second person to help, switch to a compression/rescue breath ratio of 15:2.
And if I'm too confusing or if this is still scary, the Red Cross offers classes you can take online w/ in-person skill testing for like $35-85 ($$$ one meets OSHA standards). If you've got $35 lying around and 3 hours to kill online you can learn some life-saving skills
@@mikkurzhal7390
Red Cross reminds me of the CDC, they keep changing things around, back in the day they used to say do rescue breaths, then they said you don't have to do rescue breaths anymore, "the compressions will get the blood flowing and that's all they need" Now they say to do rescue breaths, next they'll say "don't do chest compressions, it will do more harm than good"

On the one hand he wants people to work hard to get results and he does that in a tough way,but on the other hand he shows that hes still a human and cares about those workers, and that he puts the pressure to help them not just humiliate them
The only problem is that the people he's helping thinks that they're being humiliated
But the truth is that Gordon is trying to let them realize their mistakes and get slapped by reality and wake up. It's just that they don't see it that way and sees Gordon as "the bad guy"

wow... 150 f*cking items in a menu that shit should be illegal, alot of chefs are overworked with a normal menu I can't imagine how this guy feels...
No need to imagine. You got the play by play
Agreed. Ive been studying tourism and the food and beverage industry for years. Even some of the biggest menus I’ve seen only have about 100 items, and the only reason the restaurants able to do that is because the items use similar ingredients, so they dont have to worry about prepping things a million different ways. To prep items that the owner basically said “i found this, l like it, go make it” with no consideration of what goes into it is insane.
This is what fucks up most restaurants with inexperienced owners. My ex had a restaurant and the exact same problem; too many items on the menu. She held it for 2 years before it went bankrupt. My ex still paying back debts from it.

@@Malkmusianful I mean throughout the conversation gordon wasnt angry he was just asking why the executive chef wasnt cooking for him, and when he seen the chef wasnt completely all there he was genuinely concerned, gordon can be an ass but when it comes to being human he cant help but care, he does it alot, in most of kitchen nightmares and hotel hell he was genuinely wanting to get to the root cause even sometimes saying for them to work on themselves, in one episode he helped a mother and son reconnect, hes generally a pretty caring guy.
I here that him constantly screaming his ass off is just a shtick.
