I am Protestant and my family has been Protestant for centuries. I learned to pray the rosary out of desperation because I had a toothache that wouldn’t stop hurting and I had to wait until I had enough money to go see a dentist. The meditation practice of the rosary still worked for me, and God provided for me to my tooth pulled.
I have been praying the rosary daily for the last 7 years and it has transformed me with countless graces. I can feel the care and protection of our Lady and I can notice the difference when I miss the prayer. It keeps me from temptation and I have seen the correlation between days I pray and I don't. Each day I am moving closer and closer to God. With spiritual gifts came material ones too.
During Lent last year I came to realize that I wasn’t so much praying the rosary as reciting it. I just keep asking the Blessed Mother to help me get to the place where my prayer life is pleasing to her and to her Son. Please pray for me as I will pray for you. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
One idea that helped me with this is something I found on a Carmelite website. Scripturally based rosary For each decade it provides you ten verses from the Bible to focus on. Along with chapter and verse from the Bible. By the time you have finished, you have focused on 50 specific events in Jesus’s life, one for each recitation of the Hail Mary It’s a great way to be immersed as you pray it I would put a link, but then TH-cam removes my comments
I returned to the Catholic church earlier this year. I also started doing the rosary. A lady at church gave me a couple of little lesson books on how to do the rosary. It has been difficult for me. I am 63 with really bad memory issues, and have had focus problems all of my life. I am finally starting to be able to do certain mysterys without constantly staring at the books. I am feeling so much better about it, and feeling closer to Mother Mary. I recently got a Miraculous Metal. I now do my rosary everyday. 😊❤
I read Immaculee Ilibagiza's book The Rosary. She describes how she learned the rosary in such a simple, logical way. I highly, emphatically recommend this book!
I've prayed the rosary daily for nine years but it has done nothing in my life except my life is worse than it was before I started raying it daily. It's not a silver bullet, you still have to hope that God will show you love and not hatred.
Mother Mary pointed me to her son, and my faith grew daily thanks to her guidance. After my baptism, I joined the area prayer group reciting the rosary together. Mother Mary leads me to this group and my sense of belonging to the Catholic Church increases. Mother Mary prays for me Jesus I Trust In You 🙏
Hi. Marry died and she never rose from the dead like Jesus Christ. The dead know nothing and their share of the life of the living is none, see Ecclesiastes 9. Jesus in the book of John says that He is the only way to God the Father and none can go to the the Father except through Him alone. Not through Marry and these other dead saints. Christ is the only intercessor between humanity and God the Father. If Marry was alive today she would have been weeping over the grave sins that the Catholics commit by praying through/to her instead of Jesus Christ. Marry died and was in need of a savior just like you and I she never intended for people to have this holy reverence that Catholics have towards her.
Father Mark-Mary thanks for explaining this and I hope many Catholics who struggle with the rosary, will learn something here. I find that many Catholics still pray in general for "wanting" something in this world. They miss that prayer transforms us to conform to what and how God sees us. It's not about what I'm getting out of it, more about how am I growing to fit the image that God has and become his instrument for conversion. I admit I have been blessed to never see prayer as a "chore" to begrudingly do because it needs to be done. I look forward to be with Mary in the rosary so that she teaches me more about her Beloved Son and Our Savior. I also learn why she is integral to our salvation. Certainly I may have a moment of spiritual "dryness" but most times, when I start into a rosary, the time passes so quickly that the 20 minutes I took, hardly matter. There are days I will contemplate 10, 15, and all 20 (the newest addition of the Luminous). I truly love the Wedding at Cana because it is for me in a beautiful sweet holy nutshell, the reason why Jesus was given to us by His Father, and there is Mary beside him, telling us to do what he says. Glorious Obedience! May all of you have the Love of God coursing through you and bursting out this wondrous Christmastime. Please remember that December 24 is just the beginning of Christmas and make an effort to do something all the days at least up until the Epiphany. And make make Mary your guide!
Hi Fr Mark-Mary, I have combined the Holy Rosary with the Chaplet for the past two years. I do the Liturgy of The Hours five times a day, so after each liturgy I pray, I will then do one decade of the Holy Rosary and one Decade of The Chaplet. So throughout the day I complete all of the required five decades of both, I also do the Bible and Catechism in a year with Fr Mike, I'm just about to complete my second year. My situation is different to others as I'm disabled now and mobility isn't at its best now, so I fill my day with the Blessing of God, this new beginning for me has had a dramatic change on my life both inwards and outwards, God Bless and thank you.

I used to “say” the rosary, but now I pray the rosary. I purchased a book called The Rosary of St. John Paul II and it changed everything. I also pray the rosary for specific people, souls, or communities and lifting them up in prayer helps me to focus. I believe Mary intercedes on our behalf through the praying of the rosary. May God bless.
Blessed Christmas: YOU CAN NO LONGER FEAR ME! Pope Benedict XVI: “God’s sign is simplicity. God’s sign is the baby. God’s sign is that he makes himself small for us. This is how he reigns. He does not come with power and outward splendor. He comes as a baby - defenseless and in need of our help. He does not want to overwhelm us with his strength. He takes away our fear of his greatness. He asks for our love: so he makes himself a child. He wants nothing other from us than our love, through which we spontaneously learn to enter into his feelings, his thoughts and his will - we learn to live with him and to practice with him that humility of renunciation that belongs to the very essence of love. God made himself small so that we could understand him, welcome him, and love him. God, who has become a child, says to us: you can no longer fear me, you can only love me.”

In German we have still more mysteries - the official ones and the prayer books have aditional ones like Jesus, who lives and works in his church. (The Word for work is a bit more poetic but I am not sure how to precicly translate it. It's he works but also "he has effect")
Was a Catholic for about 2 decades. 'Prayed' the rosary too but through God's grace He saved from the falsehoods of Catholicism. Praying to dead people such as Marry that never rose from the dead for sins and bowing down before statues, I did all this and even defended my then Faith. But realized that a lot of Catholics do not read the Bible and do not get the convictions from Holy Spirit for the practices they dabble down in. Reading the book of John you see it clear that Jesus is the only way to the Father. He even says it himself that none can come The Father except through Me(Jesus). You have to ask yourself, if Jesus is saying this then where does Marry fit in the picture? She doesnt. She was also in need of a savior just like you and me, but here we are praying to her as if she is our mediator. It's actually sad. Ecclesiastes 9 says that the dead know nothing and their part of this life is gone. In Matthew 6 Jesus tells us not to pray in vain, repeating prayers over and over, yet here we are doing exaclty what He told us not to do, repeating prayers over and over. To make matters worse some of these repeated prayers are to the to dead people so that they can forward our prayers to God. I think it shows, how a lot of Catholics dont read the Bible because such a verse ought to have convicted some of them.
T the end of 2024, I highly recommend to everyone the book: Your Life Your Game by keezano🙌🏼 I read and it changed my life, it shows how connecting with God and your inner self can lead to spiritual growth and financial success. Amen
Do you have any advice for people with attention problems (such as ADHD)? Our brains tend to crave novelty and stimulus, and the rosary can seem boring due to the amount of repetition. Also, it can be hard to pray sincerely when your mind is constantly wandering. I don't mean any disrespect, I'm just trying to help those of us who struggle with these issues. Thank you.
I want to do the Rosary, new Catholic accepted into the Church this Easter but HOW can I meditate on a mystery while saying the Hail Mary prayer over and over? How can I think of anything but the words I am reciting? I find it SO difficult!
Just keep going, sister in Christ. You will get there...and we all struggle. The struggle is just part of the human condition. Jesus was one of us. He gets it. And His mother, is our mother too ❤❤❤
Ha! You're not alone. 😁 The only thing I found was that the Desert Fathers (3rd C) prayed the 150 psalms every day and used stones to keep track of them, and then knots in ropes. Any chance you found something different about the 150 mysteries?
I find repeating words I did not write, not from my own heart, not the best way to get closer to God. Let's say I wronged you and read an apology to you 3x someone else wrote. Would that be genuine or convey how I actually felt? I personally prefer to talk to God throughout the day, frequently with both requests and thanks. That's just me. I see the Our Father a bit different as it's from God and it's worship but also a lesson for us.
I understand what you mean brother. An example I can think of that is similar in a sense, is music. We don't write the lyrics but certain songs are sung by many that can relate/feel what the lyrics are saying. Catholics believe that we can do both recited prayer and metal prayer/talk to God in our own words. Many saints have said that the latter is a must.
The Catholic Encyclopedia admits that "prayer beads were universally familiar to non-Christians for centuries and were in use long before the Catholic Church adopted the rosary." Jesus said to "not say the same things over and over again." (Matthew 6:7,8) If the same memorized prayer is not to be said over and over again, obviously beads would not be needed to count how many times it's said!
Matthew 6:7-8 "And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans." Sorry it's not babbling, the Hail Mary is 95% Scripture, and the Our Father is 100%.
Luke 16:14 KJV And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided HIM (CHRIST). 15 And HE said unto them, You are they which justify yourselves before men; but GOD knows your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of GOD. Note 1: They justify themselves with sacramental works. Note 2: They have those things which are highly esteemed among men such as vast riches, power over others, vain glory, costly apparel, pomp and ceremony, living in giant cathedrals, and so on.
Forgive me... in your heart you see us covetous? You, who are far superior than St. Philip's Ethiopian eunuch , does He weigh your heart a clean one? You believe heaven awaits you -that's good so it's only right that you ,a son of the Judge can call us covetous. I, a covetous idolater, ask this : "In the Annunciation, "was the LORD Jesus fully divine and fully human in the Womb of the Virgin ?
Most have turned Jesus into God and will pay for all eternity (2 Thessalonians 1:7-9): The Father’s will is not Jesus’ will, for Jesus himself said “he came not to do _his own will,_ but the will of _Him that sent me_ (John 6:38). In Matthew 7:21, not all who say “Lord” to Jesus will enter heaven, but only those who do God’s will. In John 14:24, Jesus said those who do not love him will not keep his words even though the words he speaks is not his own, but the Father that sent him. Jesus tells us if we hear his words from God, and believe in God the Father, we have everlasting life and will be passed from death to life. In Luke 10:16, he says all who despises these sayings from another hates that person, Jesus, and God the Father. Repent, for Jesus is not God (John 17:3).
Isaiah 9:6 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
Not to be disrespectful but the rosary is not biblical. Nowhere in the Bible does it say pray to or pray with beads in your hands. Hail Mary is not biblical. Nowhere in the Bible are any of these practices taught or practiced. Matthew Mark Luke John Peter or Paul mention anything about rosaries or praying with rosaries. But God does mention in the ten commandments about graven images.
the Rosary and the Bible are not mutually exclusive, and that the Rosary finds its meaning in the Bible The Rosary's prayers are based on words from the Bible, including the "Our Father" prayer, which comes from Matthew 6:9-13, and the greeting in the "Hail Mary" prayer, which comes from Luke 1:28, 42 The Rosary's 20 mysteries are meditations on Bible events and teachings The Rosary is a meditative prayer that invites people to reflect on key moments in the lives of Jesus Christ and Mary 🙏🙌📿
😂 Hail Mary is not biblical. Not to be disrespectful but it is lazy to not know what you are talking about or do some serious research. The truth is if you were not lazy you would be blown away by the truth. Watch Sam Shamoun’s videos and then come back with some comments.
I don’t mean to be rude, so please forgive me if this is unwelcome. But what if it didn’t do anything for you, but was changing the world a tiny bit each time? Or opening a part of your heart, or softening something in you? I find it’s not just the rosary that’s important, so many people say what you’ve said out of pain of feeling abandoned in prayer because (in my experience) they’re looking at it through the wrong perspective and often don’t see or pay attention to the miracles happening elsewhere in their lives or others. God bless you ❤
@ then tell me, through what perspective should I be looking at it? My prayers have never been heard in the past, why should I think now would be any different?
@ since I’ve never heard of it, I’m going to have to say no. Being that there is no prayer I could say that will ever be heard, I don’t see how doing that would matter

Thank you.
Jesus loves you
I want to do the Rosary, new Catholic accepted into the Church this Easter but HOW can I meditate on a mystery while saying the Hail Mary prayer over and over? How can I think of anything but the words I am reciting? I find it SO difficult!
Just keep going, sister in Christ. You will get there...and we all struggle. The struggle is just part of the human condition. Jesus was one of us. He gets it. And His mother, is our mother too ❤❤❤
I hate using metal made Rosary. It’s always got broken. I’m considering the Paracord type of Rosary.
Googleing the 150 rosaries. I can't be the only one. 😅
Ha! You're not alone. 😁 The only thing I found was that the Desert Fathers (3rd C) prayed the 150 psalms every day and used stones to keep track of them, and then knots in ropes. Any chance you found something different about the 150 mysteries?
I have a problem Father please reply..once I prayer Rosary now I'm not feeling any interest towards it..I don't why😢
Pray to the Holy Spirit before Rosary
@joshvierling4781 Thank you for telling Josh🙂🙏God bless you🙌✝️
I find repeating words I did not write, not from my own heart, not the best way to get closer to God.
Would you be against praying the our Father multiple times in a row?
Matthew 6:7-8 "And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans." Sorry it's not babbling, the Hail Mary is 95% Scripture, and the Our Father is 100%.
...how big were that man's pockets?! 300??!! 😮 😅 Pray your Rosary beads, ...and be glad they're not rocks-- GOT IT!!! 😂
They must have been small pebbles? 300 of them is still quite a lot though.
I, a covetous idolater, ask this : "In the Annunciation,
"was the LORD Jesus fully divine and fully human in the Womb of the Virgin ?
Most have turned Jesus into God and will pay for all eternity (2 Thessalonians 1:7-9):
The Father’s will is not Jesus’ will, for Jesus himself said “he came not to do _his own will,_ but the will of _Him that sent me_ (John 6:38).
“I and the Father are one” ✌️
So you do not believe in the Holy Trinity? Then you are not Catholic.
But God does mention in the ten commandments about graven images.
the Rosary and the Bible are not mutually exclusive, and that the Rosary finds its meaning in the Bible
The Rosary's prayers are based on words from the Bible, including the "Our Father" prayer, which comes from Matthew 6:9-13, and the greeting in the "Hail Mary" prayer, which comes from Luke 1:28, 42
The Rosary's 20 mysteries are meditations on Bible events and teachings
The Rosary is a meditative prayer that invites people to reflect on key moments in the lives of Jesus Christ and Mary
🙏🙌📿
😂 Hail Mary is not biblical. Not to be disrespectful but it is lazy to not know what you are talking about or do some serious research. The truth is if you were not lazy you would be blown away by the truth. Watch Sam Shamoun’s videos and then come back with some comments.
The rosary never did anything for me when I did say it, so I don’t say it.
Have you tried praying the Our Lady of 7 Sorrows Rosary? It's amazing.
@@markantonelli53
prayer is a conversation with God, and that sometimes answers may not come in the way we expect
@ since I’ve never heard of it, I’m going to have to say no. Being that there is no prayer I could say that will ever be heard, I don’t see how doing that would matter
