That bird was a black vulture. Turkey vultures have a reddish head. On the Manatee, just like humans, when they get that large, usually with age, they slow down. There was nothing in that little backwater bay to excite him/her so they were just enjoying a warm lazy summer afternoon.
Thank you for promoting kayak fishing, it's better than motor boats not only for the environment but your own health as well.
We see manatee hang out like that all the time. Lots of spinners around the inlet, loads of fun when they jump across the kayak 😍

You can always connect the negative to a bolt / piece on the engine block for ground.

Just clip the neg to any metal piece on your truck the next time it’s just a ground lol.
Ground is ground...you can attach the negative clamp to any metal surface on the vehicle. Most new vehicles have a ground terminal spot under the hood that you can clamp to.

You can stick the negative to the metal frame on truck and hook positive up!

Hi Kelly, I love your channel, you’re adorable. I am a OG Deer Meat sub, then Bluegabe. But I had watched you a long time ago on some other channel you were on. I’m so glad you and Gabe are together making great videos. I do lean towards yours a little more, mainly because Gabe to me show boats a little bit. Lol always adding in how he does this or that or been there done that. Seems to one up a little bit. But he’s still great.

Kelly it’s ok to put the negative clamp on any bear metal of the engine or frame of the car. Find a bolt or bracket that’s metal and clamp it to it.
My boat engines (asotta franchini) do not use the engine as a ground. Makes sense since there used in minesweepers and sending electrical pulses thru the engine/transmission/shafts/ into the water where the mines are could be deadly. It’s called a-magnetic. It took me a while to figure it all out.

You only need the positive battery post when jumping a vehicle. Put the positive cable on the positive post, and the ground on the negative, or any non painted bolt head or the frame. Your negative is just the ground, so grounding anywhere under the hood will work.

Kelly, when jumping another car, put the positive on the good battery and the negative to the engine block. put positive and negative to the bad battery. this will assure not to get feedback to your battery and damage your Alternator. Hope this helps. Thanks Reggie.
I finally got the video to pause where I could see the white on the wing-tips along with a dark grey head YOUR LARGE BIRD IS A ""BLACK VULTURE"", NOT THE TURKEY VULTURE ! About 3 inches shorter than the Turkey vulture which is larger, and has a red fleshy looking head with white to grey panes which extend from the wing tips all the way to the body ! Kelly, Osprey fly with their wings partially folded, and have a white head with a black streak running from their beak & goes through the eye to the back of their head.

You don't have to attach the negative clamp to the battery, any unpainted metal surface is fine. Golden retrievers are bread to have a soft bite which aids them in retrieving whatever bird their owner is hunting. Mine used to use his bite to try to get me down to his level so I would sit and pet him. When I was stationed in Mayport, the Officer of the Deck reported unusual sounds, so they called me to figure out what it was. Turned out to be a group of manatees drinking fresh water from an overboard discharge coming from the side of the ship. Thanks a lot for the awesome video.
Right but what’s funny is the negative is obviously on the other side of the battery it’s just under a plastic cover that’s on a hinge
That’s correct about only needing an unpainted metal surface for the negative connection.
Right most people do not know the proper way to jump a car is ground the negative and positive to positive
Be cautious on these newer vehicles. The electronics are "finicky" with jump starts. You can blow a board and that cost big mullah!
That's why women shouldn't try to be a mechanic.
As long as there is metal with no paint plastic or anything where there would break the connection

That was a pretty good guess, but I was able to pause the video at a good angle to see the bird had white at the wing tips and a dark grey head ! That says it is a BLACK VULTURE, AND NOT A TURKEY VULTURE ! I'm not trying to down you, but I've been an avid birder for 50 years of my life and wanted only to praise your guess, and ask you to search "Black Vulture" and see the difference ?
