If you are fishing off Jupiter, we used to slay the Muttons just outside of the 80' reef in about 90+- feet of water.
I would use a double hook rig in fresh Ballihoo.
Back in the 90's when I was in the Navy station at Virginia Beach , Croakers were so thick , you couldn't hardly fish for Flounder using jigs for them ! Thick !

Croakers are so plentiful on the coast of VA and the Chesapeake Bay, we can't get to targeted fish like flounder, because of them.

Love that you got the pelican down and helped it I helped a osprey Tangled in line around his wing and foot. Marine patrol pulled up on us acting all wild at first but then I saw what we were doing and they let us be and then they reported that we helped one osprey I love the water. Diving and fishing is what I love thanks Kelly and moms and blue Gabe....

I get some croakers (ronkmos) in Spanish in miami. It is a fish that is caught by everyone in Miami at the bridges. You can eat them, they taste very good, very spiny, so it is cooked in a pressure cooker for 15 minutes and spine and all can be eaten.
