I found that overstocked glofish tank post on facebook and the owner actually listened and upgraded them to a much bigger tank! Its pretty rare that people with bad fish tanks actually take advice.
That oddly shaped fish tank is giving me such anxiety, I’m the kind of person that worries about ruining floors and downstairs neighbours lives when there’s a single nano tank in my home.
@@FishForThought My first thought was, where is the filtration system supposed to go? then realised the washer/dryer is probably taking up its place... I really hope their plan was not to recycle the fish water into their washer or the other way around...
Around 3:00 mark to make a mention on those eggs, having multiple mystery snails I recently learned due to having a few that have begun to slow down from old age that they can breath air very well, a lot of people give them whats called an air bath for like 10-15 minutes up to 4 times a day and it really can give older mystery snails snails some new life, I thought 2 of my older mystery snails had died since all the other snails from their generation are now just empty shells and giving them 1 air bath they slowly started opening up and taking big breaths. I also learned with ultra specific and rich diets and conditions they can live a good 1 or 2 years past the 1-2 year that google says, with mega good diet.
My last Mystery snail that just passed away lived for 2 and a half years. I was so shocked, I wasn't doing anything special, he lived in a 10 gallon with two nerites and two cories, I made sure to give boiled veggies and a bit of shrimp once or twice a month because I was worried the tank was a little overstocked, but he did great and lived a long healthy life.
the mystery substrate at 5:20 is a knock off of stratum from aqueon. its cheaper but does the same thing but doesnt look as natural. it is less dusty though.
QOTW: I have narcolepsy so my sleep is very out of whack. Sometimes I sleep up to 20 hours in one stretch and sometimes I'm lucky to get one hour of sleep. Or it could be anything in between. And then there's the times that I sleep but only part of my brain sleeps but part that is supposed to be asleep isn't (this actually happened during my first and second sleep studies, leading to my diagnosis) so even though I have slept 8 hours I wake up feeling like I have pulled an all-nighter, because my brain actually has.
2:47 those are mystery snail eggs though! they have lungs and can breathe out of water for up to 10 minutes or more (we try not to do longer than 10 minute air baths at least).
@cassiemarks3078 sources *say* mysteries will typically lay their eggs a mere few inches above a waterline. unfortunately snails can't read so they don't know that :(

Generally 8 or 9 hours. BUT the best sleep I ever had was when I went to Hawaii and slept 12 hours each day. Do I normally need 12 hours? No. But let me tell you waking up to what I originally thought were jungle sounds (did you know wild chickens sound like the monkey sounds you hear in movies?!) after 12 hours of sleep *chefs kiss* fabulous
0:30 I think this is one of those desk toys that has water in it and has lights and makes air bubbles when it’s plugged in to move around either a plastic fake fish or a silicone jellyfish, they’re usually attached by an invisible string to either a weight at the bottom of the container or a float at the top of the water in the container, it was probably in the cat toy section of the pet store that guy found it in if it hadn’t been mis shelved, they sometimes have fake butterflies that move in artificial terrariums for the cats to play with as well, I actually almost got one of the fake jellyfish ones for my cats and I to stare at once a few years ago but it was just a tiny bit more expensive than I could afford at the time when I saw it, I did get a tiny glass fishbowl that had tiny glass fish on tiny glass floats once when I was very little but either I dropped it or it fell off of something when it was full of water and everything broke, and since then I got a real fish and an actual regular sized aquarium to keep it in, the little floating toy fish is actually a pretty good idea for kids whose parents don’t want to take care of an actual fish tank for them but the kid really wants a fish, but definitely don’t put any real fish in it because it’s definitely not big enough for any actual live fish. I also need nine hours sleep usually, unless I have been taking care of myself exceptionally well for a while then I might wake up without trying after seven or eight hours of sleep but that doesn’t happen very often, if I’ve been doing too much and not taking care of myself sometimes I need as much as ten or twelve hours sleep to feel rested, I also get migraines and sleep deprivation is a major migraine trigger for me as well.

Hey FishKeepers. I have a question! For two goldfish (one fancy and one common) would 200L/50 Gallons be enough? Currently they are in a 50L/13 Gallon tank. This is what was recommended by the store, and far too small! They are growing!! Fast!! I have researched the plants, wood and hardscaping for this, but I don't want to have to upgrade again in 12 months or so! For info, the fancy is about 4 inches now, and less than six months old! I sleep on an average of about 8hrs a night. Some nights I might only get about 3hrs, but the next night I will sleep 11-13hrs. I guess I have to make up some of what I missed. LOL 😆.
I need 3.5 years to catch up on my sleep😂 (I have a 3.5 years old daughter)... also btw, my 22 gallon new tank is arriving on Thursday, I'm upgrading from 10. It's all your fault Chris
QotW: Need, no idea. Get, maybe 7h altogether, but mostly interrupted by, oh look its 2:30am why don’t you wake up now cause the sky looks so beautiful (no idea why my body/brain/whatever-wakes-me-in-the-middle-of-night hates me).
Bruh really though without an lfs in the area paying for plants, fish and basically anything I can't get from Amazon takes months of saving and prepping to be able to afford. I've had a big beautiful bow front sitting in the driveway for 6 months because I have so little disposable income to scape it

@FishForThought Hi! I know there are a lot of comments but I came across a video by ApexAquatics titled "Water change gone wrong" and it is hard to watch. In the comments, he also insists that betas do not need a lot of room. I don't know much about his other videos, but by the looks of this one they can't be good. Anyway, he might make a good segment on a fish tank review.
I used to only need 4 nonconsecutive hours thanks to some crazy training I was apart of, then it was 6 straight hours, and now it’s 8. Man getting old sucks 😂
hey man i just wanna let u know i saved my fish from death as one jumped out my video will be uploaded by wednesday ill link it
I would only condone that portable fishtank for growing plants
Definitely need exactly 8 hours, no more, no less.
I found my aquatic snail on my ceiling fan somehow
guys how do i join the fft dc community ;-; the link aint working up for me

@@FishForThought where do i find the links to the fft dc community in ig or yt._.?
I sleep on an average of about 8hrs a night. Some nights I might only get about 3hrs, but the next night I will sleep 11-13hrs. I guess I have to make up some of what I missed. LOL 😆.
0:48 the most cursed image
I did not know until today glofish existed. Might be what finally makes me start an aquarium.
That portable fish tank thing looks way to much like a bullet...
I just bought some clams and I hope I don’t regret it.
I typically only get 6-7 but i dont wake up feeling refreshed unless i get 8 minimum. 🐟
I like a 6 hour sleep. 8 feels a little too long unless I had a late night but if I get any less sleep I cry
I need 3.5 years to catch up on my sleep😂 (I have a 3.5 years old daughter)... also btw, my 22 gallon new tank is arriving on Thursday, I'm upgrading from 10. It's all your fault Chris
More tetras in their 2.5 gallon then I have in my 32 gallon.
QotW: Need, no idea. Get, maybe 7h altogether, but mostly interrupted by, oh look its 2:30am why don’t you wake up now cause the sky looks so beautiful (no idea why my body/brain/whatever-wakes-me-in-the-middle-of-night hates me).
It's a light, heater is in the back right corner.
Watching ftr during school is a w
eating while watching fft is so good
COOL 🐟
In Europe we dont know these scary American fish torture wood huts 😂
Love ur Content ❤
Bruh really though without an lfs in the area paying for plants, fish and basically anything I can't get from Amazon takes months of saving and prepping to be able to afford. I've had a big beautiful bow front sitting in the driveway for 6 months because I have so little disposable income to scape it
It's the best fishtank I have ever seen for plastic fish
I’ve been waiting for another episode 👏 this is so good
tyty!
just stocked my 25 gallon with five zebra danios is it over stalked
I'm frillin' lucky to get 5 hours, I want more sleep but apparently it is not aloud.
My husband says im a bear, i could sleep for an entire season.. but if im going to estimate how much i actually get.. id say about 6 hours.
