I can't remember now, but I think I was probably levelling people I didn't use or I was stuck with a few of them for the story. Just checked the final fight and the only one I'm still using is the main character. The game's pretty easy though, so I imagine you can probably get away with using goofy party setups and be fine. The only part I remember struggling with was the fight with Luca Blight where you have to use a whole bunch of different parties and end up scraping the barrel for the last few members. Still the best part of the game though
Tir is the OG of Suikoden. The dude is an absolute tank when you recruit him. I remember I used to go back and add him to my team every time I fought a boss battle after he's unlocked. I used to fight the final boss with only Riou and Tir as an ultimate test.

@@chonsey5179 ugh that fight with Luca was a pain the first time round, especially if you dont know what you are doing.
Tir is the strongest character in entire suikoden series IMHO
though Suiko 4 sucks in comparison with the other installments, the main character there for me is the strongest
