This is one of those games where you forget its existence for years then suddenly a part of your brain remembers it as a clay game and you search it up to come back for nostalgia.
Fantastic! Great work. I'm the person who made this game, a long time ago now. Your video has brought back some memories. :) When I originally wrote this (the first PC version which was released on CD), there was only keyboard/joypad control (no mouse) and "hard" difficulty was the only difficulty. This is playing the game as it was originally intended! The game was heavily influenced by 1942, which is where you get things like the semi-random distribution of small enemies and the emphasis on trying to go for 100% in each round. I tried to make it so there was always a little bit more you could do to score more points, so that you could score attack it, but until now I didn't think anybody had ever taken the game seriously enough to really go for a high score. There's seven digits for a reason :) It made me happy to see you holding on to your wingmen and X2 multiplier and get the big bonuses and 100%s. This was my first finished game and there's a lot I might have done differently; I didn't plan much and didn't have time to really fix anything after, so I just started at the start and worked my way to the end and it all just sort of came out however it came out. If something I added didn't work out so great I still kept it in but just didn't use it again (that's why there's no return to the minefield which everybody hates or the volcano which is so unfair). Thanks for overlooking the rough spots and for understanding what I was trying to get at. This has made my day.
Anthony Flack Thank you! Been playing this game since the original release and still trying it from time to time. Nice clay animations, the perfect selection of music and easy mechanics combined with the great challenge - it was my favorite game to play with my older brother back in the days. You did a wonderful job with Platypus, and I'm glad you liked the video :)
*Platypus* I haven’t heard that game for many years, probably almost 7 years now. I remembered enjoying this game, the music, and being frustrated so much. One of life’s greatest games in the past and sadly, it’s almost forgotten now. I just randomly remembered this game and now here I am, feeling nostalgic.

My late grandmother knew how much her grandkids liked videogames, and she went out of her way to download a ton of weird flash and obscure early 2000’s games. This and Hamster Ball were our go to’s on the family computer at her house, albeit it was a pretty slow computer. I’m so glad I remembered this game exists, because it reminds me of late nights with my siblings and cousins working together to beat the hardest parts of this game. And it reminds me most of all of my grandma and the things she did to make our stay at her house a little more fun. Miss her very much. Thank you Anthony Flack for making my childhood really fun. Gonna buy this on steam now 20 years later to relive those moments when my grandma was still with me!
Nostalgia overload! I remember playing this on rainy days in the early 2000s when I couldn't play outside. The clay graphics is something really unique that I have only seen done so well in this game. If anyone knows other video games (Old or newer) with clay style graphics that are good, let me know!
I was 4 years old and every morning I wanted to play this game and my parents didn't give me permission to play it until they've drank their coffee, then I could turn on my noisy PC and start playing it, even though I finished it!
I played this game in my childhood ... I had vague memories to the point of believing that it was only a dream and that it did not exist, until I remembered its name, it was like reliving a moment from my childhood
The music of final 4th area, sounding desperate and marking the final mission, where you have to fight off whole invader on their own territory in desperate fight to save natural environment, with saucers flying in very high amplitude pattern with their seemingly harmless bullets faster than ever before. Also - level 4, area 3. The most satisfying moment of the whole game and hats off to the developer who thought of it. If you thought you were powerful with weapon attachments and rockets against bosses, the joy of being unstoppable with lasers and weapon attachments simply can't be described.
Oh my god. It's bring me back to my childhood in 2000s when I was 8 years old.I always remember a music in game, very classic. I have founded it, just I got it. Thank u very much!
