for my two cents I would say the emgs just have that classic sound I just immediately reminded of so many records everytime I heard them in this comparison. loved the d-activators chunky low end response with agood amount of clarity and a beautiful clean sound, the fishmans just sounded a little dull and under powered also noticed a high frequency hiss when playing with gain just didn't like them much. emgs are definitely useful when you're trying to go for a specific sound but when it comes down to it I'd rather have a dimarzio.
Very happy with the D Ativators. I don't know how close they are to actual active pickups, but they sound really good. It's like a better version of the super distortion and the x2n
Interestingly I loved the fluent core and DiMarzio fishman celan, on the other hand those same pickups work well for me with hi gain, I felt the fishman with more body and the sharper DiMarzio, I think I would use the DiMarzio for more serious tunings that the fishman, but ultimately they all sound great
EMG 81 is still my favorite for high gain rhythm work, always will be. It’s aggressive enough to cut right through, but it has this really nice character in the mids that makes heavily distorted chords just sound so nice. However, the 60 for leads is a little disappointing and muffled, the dactivator wins there
Awesome video comparison..I'm about to get some classic open cores for my Wolfgang..actually surprised by the D activator in this video also..I actually prefer it over the 81 here but the Fishman's overall for sure
I was thinking of going for the Titans for my backup Ibanez or buying something more expensive. I'm always after the kind of hi-gain sound where you can kinda feel that you're pushing air. The only one that did it for me was the D Activator. Welp, imma buy one now, thx.
Great back to back comparison. Really the only way to effectively compare pickups and you did it well. The Fishmans were my hands down favorite of this lot. The clear tone with balanced volume across the strings was beautiful. The EMG and Dimarzio sound dull and muddy in comparison.
@@GERGOHAJEROFFICIAL I am going to be buying the new 2021 ESP LTD EC 1001 tiger Eye soon and it has the Fishman Open Core Classics..I tried for 1 day due to faulty wiring a single Fluence Modern in the bridge position that I wired up for the push/pull single knob,and I liked it and wanted to keep it but was defective,so I was looking for a video on the Core Classics to see if their High gain tone would get the job done..were you using that Blackstar MK ll amp there for this video ? I will be running 2 EVH Stealth amps,the 15 watt LBX-S and the 50 watt Stealth and going by this video I think the Classics will be ok..what do you think ? I also have already bought the bigger rechargeable Fishman battery ready to mount in the new LTD...I am about to do the pre-order..can't wait ! Your video demos here of each pickup and settings was outstanding..just what I was looking for !

The Dimarzio beats the EMG by far - but the Fishman "Pulled" (is that singlecoil mode??? Wow!) had an open clarity and articulation neither of the others had.

Hey, I would consider to putting an EMG 81 or 81 X on bridge position. If you prefer passive pickups the DiMarzio D Activator or the Fishman Fluence Core Classic both can work. Seymour Duncan wise I would choose the SH-4 or SH-6. Cheers
