I love the way the Japanese voice actress for Julie Powers shouts "Stacey!"
She was more sarcastic and mean in the books, so I was shocked with her portrayal here.

I like the Japanese voice, but there’s something about Anna Kendrick as Stacey Pilgrim and it’s amazing.
Also that bit where she talks with Wallace about Julie dating Gideon, so fun.
I still prefer the Anna Kendrick voice though personally 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Netflix's dubtitling is... very annoying. They made different line choices for the Japanese cast! I would like to know what those are. I don't speak Japanese but I'm enough of a weeb to tell sometimes that what they're subtitling is NOT what's being said.
Person who’s been studying Japanese for 3 years here, yes the subtitles don’t say EXACTLY what the characters are saying sometimes but that’s not the sake of the subtitles but the Japanese dub. From English to Japanese especially in this video, the subtitles are spot on. Everything she’s saying matches what’s written on screen. But at the same time yeah it’s a bit iffy. Either the Japanese dub had to change characters line for the sake of fluidity and just a different grammer system.
Native Japanese speaker here. Japanese and English are completely different languages, so if English lines are translated directly into Japanese, they may sound unnatural, too explanatory, too long or too short. I have not seen all of this show, but at least from what I have seen in this video, the English and Japanese lines do not have completely different meanings or have some political ideology added that was not in the original lines. They did a good job of making the Japanese lines natural. Well, to begin with, the show is produced by Science Saru, a Japanese Anime studio, so many Japanese people are involved. There's no way this show's Japanese is bad.
@@mamorusamuragouchi8924 Oh, I'm absolutely sure the shows spoken Japanese is immaculate. What I'm saying is is that its straight-up dubtitled; like the English subtitles of the Japanese audio are precisely the same as the English audio. Like a word-for-word transcription. I know just enough Japanese to know that this isn't quite correct; they made different translation choices for the Japanese audio and I'd like to have some idea of what they are. If I just want the precise English audio I can listen to that.
