    There’s also the fact that this is a time when there were a lot more documents and business recording that were kept on paper/hardcopies. Obviously the internet and computers were around, but this was still in the time when there was far more physical storage rather than computer data.
    It’d be interesting to see what the difference in paper debris like this would be between 2001 back then versus today in the digital age.

    I was in highschool at the time, all the way down in brighten beach brooklyn. When the wind shifted blowing the smoke plume out to the atlantic you could see the "snow" from the tower all the way down there in brighten beach/ coney island after the collapse. I'll never forget how much it actually looked like snow on a clear sunny day in the mid 70s. Mind you this wasnt paper but an actual dusting. I did see paper eventually flying over to brooklyn. Kids where in the street picking it up. That night the smoke hung around the street lamps and the whole borough smelled like a giant house fire.

It's not that I like the fact that someone died, but the stories are fascinating. Same with 911, which is such a monumental event. I hate the fact that it happened and thousands died, but the fact that it did and everything about the situation is very interesting. I've always found it interesting. The Japan tsunami is another one. Millions of people watch those types of video's. Ask yourself why you came here and presumably watched this video? Was it just to judge or were you also interested? Former Boeing Everett where those planes were made.... upon high speed impact, the planes themselves and tons of flammable jet fuel became Thermobaric Fuel Air Bombs (FAB's)... explosion obliterated most everything close. Many of the companies hit were Financial and Insurance. They stored paper documents in fireproof filing cabinets.... those close to impact were instantly destroyed and paper documents never lasted long enough to fly outside on opposite side of Towers. Filing cabinets close to opposite side of impact could be broken open with paper flying out and surviving fireball... we are seeing what is left of those document... they became 'confetti' and rained down...

    I'm actually willing to bet a lot of it was debris bigger than paper that was able to stay aloft longer than usual due to the drafts created by the immense heat. If you look at the debris cloud of a tornado, your brain instantly goes to "hey look at all the little bits of paper" when in actuality what you're seeing is heavy stuff like roofing material but our brains can't immediately reconcile seeing heavy objects aloft like that, so we assume it's paper.
    I think in this instance you have something similar with bits of the aluminum clading and other materials (gypsum board as well, perhaps) caught in the updraft in addition to the immense amounts of paper material.
    It's kinda amazing that there weren't more sympathetic fires from all of the debris lofted up and dispersed. That might be due to that immense heat incinerating any material that could disperse farther than the complex itself.

    About seeing any video inside the north tower after the south tower collapse...IIRC, the French filmaker following a fire crew was in the north tower lobby, filming as they ran out a tunnel to escape the chaos of the south tower collapse. They were at the north end of the north tower, but were immediately overtaken with a dark cloud of debris (so much debris that it killed the chaplain). There's footage from some videographers that they have elected not to release (again, likely due to graphic content and respect for the deceased). It'd be interesting to have a piece of paper or something that "snowed" from the towers before any of the collapse. Think about it? That piece was inside the towers and came out through the hole of the impact.

    That's one of the reasons why the fires were burning so hot inside of these buildings is because they were loaded with paper, furniture, ink, supplies, plastic and so forth. This is just before 'paperless' was a thing.

  • @BillyBong
    @BillyBong 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

    You are a little off with this one. I'll tell you a 911 snow story. I was on chambers and west st in class when the AA11 flew over my school(bmcc) and crashed into the north tower. I saw both towers burning from 3 blocks north of the towers. I left the area before the buildings fell because I was worried they could collapse. I went to the lower east side of Manhattan to my job. I waited till 3 o clock for trains to start running again. Went home to Brooklyn. Was walking around my neighborhood like 6 or 7 o clock pm and 10 papers rained down from the sky, probably over 10 miles away from the trade center. I picked up a few, misplaced them at this point in time. So the paper came was up in the air all over nyc for some time. Maybe just not in 1 area.
