The official video they are sitting on the studio floor singing it and the vocals and harmonizing is outstanding.. watch it.. you'll love it more than this one
Yes, watch the official version - then watch the Jimmy Fallon/Jack Black cover/re-creation of that video, which is amazingly good yet a parody ... or an homage, it's hard to tell.
"Get The Funk Out" will definitely show you the "extreme" side of this group. It's another of their hits, and it will have you moving for sure. Big club hit back in the day!
Excellent song to just listen to for the harmonies. A guitar and two vocals harmonizing...doesn't get a whole lot better than that ❤ Their studio version is a must listen to!
Nuno Bettencourt is one of the greatest guitar players to ever live. Extreme have lots of rockin' tracks and they just had a huge comeback album in 2023 the album was called "Six" and have a song called "Rise" where Nuno shows his talent in the guitar solo. Also the singer Gary Cherone had a brief stint as the singer of Van Halen.
Ok, now you have to hear their son "Get the Funk Out". When I was 19 years old, these guys used to play at local club/bar that was 18 and up near me before they made it BIG. I went to check them out with four other people on what turned out to be their last gig there because this song skyrocketed them into stardom shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, after the opening band "Paradox" played, my girlfriend and her friend were like "I want to leave". So, I never got to see them. The club was called The Livingroom and it would have been awesome to see them there. I had seen quite a few bands there and it was a blast back in the good ole days!
No, they are not related. The other two are the bass player and the drummer. This was a wonderful version of the song but the official video was better, IMO . They do not always do stripped down songs like this. They are a very underrated group , IMO.
Extreme's debut album track "Play With Me" was used in Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure, featuring some very high tempo guitar work from Nuno. Check out his solo, "Flight of the Wounded Bumble Bee" and also their song "Rock a Bye Bye", which ends with what seems like a hidden track, one of the most hauntingly beautiful guitar solos of all time. Then check out "Stop The World", "Tragic Comic", "Cupid's Dead", "When I'm President", "Rise", "Other Side of the Rainbow" and their entire set from the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, where Sir Doctor Brian May personally introduced them.
I couldn't see who was on stage in this live, but in the video it's the members of the band. They are extreme because their catalog goes from this to metal and all the way back to a cover of Frank Sinatra. Sidenote, the lead singer is Gary Cherone, who was the 3rd singer for Van Halen.
Lol! That's how I feel about Gary!!! Super nice down to earth guy, I've seen the guys so many times in concert over the years and I've seen Gary in one of his side projects called slip kid and he's such a great vocalist
Believe it or not the gtr player is one of the most technically proficient gtr players to ever walk the planet. HIs name is Nino Bettencourt and he is a Gtr players favorite Gtr player. The man is a BEAST with a six string. He is very humble and most people do not know how good he actually is. Just a incredible musician. They just recently put out another studio album their first in like almost 20 yrs and they still are amazing.
I remember this being a big hit in early 90's I think. It's the only song I remember from them, but I seem to remember, at the time, some saying their songs are mostly of the heavy metal type.
Their entire album is phenomenal. Plenty of hard hitters like "Kid Ego" and "Do You Wanna Play" and a couple of surprises like "Watching, Waiting" and Rock-a-byebye"
REST IN PEACE 🕊️ is A Great Tune!! Or AM I EVER GOING TO CHANGE!! Nuno a very underrated guitar 🎸 player. As introduction I recommend official video version. Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
It seems that almost every rock band has a ballad that winds up being a big hit. It happened to Extreme also as they're primarily a true rock band. Truth be known, they don't like performing this song and they hate that it defines them.
I always thought they were brothers too, but they're not related. The name "Extreme" is apparently a reference to two of the band members working together before in a band called The Dream, i.e. "Ex-Dream"
So they do have louder stuff but the name comes from the band some of them were in called Dream. They said they were Ex Dream, which sounded like Extreme so they went with that as the name lol
Britt as others have said you should listen to the studio (album) version or official video of a song as your first listen cause that's the way we all heard it for the first time. Some bands do sound better live (Foghat , Frampton) but most have a hard time matching the studio quality live. The band Boston is a good example cause in the studio the singer did all the harmonies himself by multitracking those vocals. Couldn't do that live.
Just seen them about a month ago, still amazing and an awesome live band. And for those that have heard "Rise", yes, he nails the solo, nothing studio about it.
It just occurred to me you would actually love this band because on every album they do a song that has a spiritual vibe to it. Am I ever going to change, stop the world, and off their new album x out those are three right off the top of my head that I think you would really enjoy.
They just released a new album last year and they are fantastic!!!! They didn't miss a beat I honestly think you would love their song over the rainbow
Now you have to react to Jack Black and Jimmy Fallon's rendition of this song. It's actually really good but it's funny because of the faces Jack makes while he's singing lol😂

Great reaction to this video despite the glitches, Britt . I've been following your channel quite closely and if you love this, then you should react to Santa Esmeralda's You're my everything. Lovely melody and lyrics with the oozing sound of the classical guitar at the back.. I'll provide the link for your ease .
Extreme is a great band. Their music is quite difficult at times. Nuno (the guitarist) is one of the greatest guitar players on this planet. I could easily label him as a virtuoso. No, Gary (the singer) and Nuno are not brothers. Thank you for the reaction!
The official video they are sitting on the studio floor singing it and the vocals and harmonizing is outstanding.. watch it.. you'll love it more than this one
You beat me to it!! The dog lying on the floor and the "lighter" tribute !!!
I just said something similar. Live is always (ok often) expetimenting and riffing off the original. So doesn't show the enduring smoothness
Yes, watch the official version - then watch the Jimmy Fallon/Jack Black cover/re-creation of that video, which is amazingly good yet a parody ... or an homage, it's hard to tell.
I don't know, I think this version was just as good, in a different way.
Jimmy Fallon and Jack Black did a great parody of this song.
This isn’t typical generally more rock.
"Get The Funk Out" will definitely show you the "extreme" side of this group. It's another of their hits, and it will have you moving for sure. Big club hit back in the day!
Hey Britt.. watch the official video of this.. its a great song

Nuno Bettencourt sings this song with Steven Tyler and it is SO good!
They werent hiding. They were all over the place back in the day.
Where were these boys hiding? Two soft tenors and a well played guitar are all that's required for pop goodness.
Ok, now you have to hear their son "Get the Funk Out".

Yes, I agree.
They were great at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert.
nobody can do a freddy mercury tribute, not on his level
@@JimJack-ng9yi no one sings on Freddie's level but Extreme does a great job at the Tribute Concert to help raise money for Aids after Freddie passed.
They were superb that day. Arguably one of the best acts 😊
Thank You Britt
Havent heard these dream boats in years ❣️
Their vocals.....chefs kiss 💋💋💋
This is such a beautiful song. Always been a favorite 😊❤
This is one of my favorites, but I've never seen this version. Thanks for sharing.
They play music from one extreme to the other
This is was such a great song😊 Great message too
they came out with a new album last year that was the amazing every song is good they even made 5 music videos for the songs
This song is such a beautiful love song. They don't make music like this much anymore. Love your reaction! ♥

That's the bassist and drummer on stage. Many of their other songs are very Extreme!
Brit- the official video is so beautiful- you will love it!
I had the pleasure to see them Live in concert!
I seen them for the first time last November, one of the best gigs I’ve ever been too. Nuno is one of my guitar hero’s.
❤❤❤❤ Beautiful song 😊 Great vocals!
Studio version
Yep🎯💯👍🏼
Tank You for your reactions.... love your dimples
Nuno. Oh THAT man is PDC without even opening his mouth.
Lol! That's how I feel about Gary!!! Super nice down to earth guy, I've seen the guys so many times in concert over the years and I've seen Gary in one of his side projects called slip kid and he's such a great vocalist

YES!
This will hit her right between the eyes!
Just the duo from the band sing this song. This song was an FU to critics that said the heavy metal band could only scream.
Their entire album is phenomenal. Plenty of hard hitters like "Kid Ego" and "Do You Wanna Play" and a couple of surprises like "Watching, Waiting" and Rock-a-byebye"
All those songs are from their self titled first album , not Pornograffiti. Just saying.
@@rogerdaly6326 correct. i have both just tired and got it confused. thanks!

No * likes * on this one. Do the original video please. Sad😢

This is by far the best duo harmony ever in the metal era....
Love this song, show your love not say it
I remember that song growing up.
Haven't heard it 4 ever
Thanks, Britt. great song for today
The guitarist is Nuno Bettencourt. He's Rihanna's musical director, to name one. Awesome hard rock guitar player like Extreme is normally.
Yeah, why keep doing live? This live is cool but thr original is smoother and shows why this song has lasted. Love you BReacts
Watch the official video....automatic PDC members on the hair alone then the singing...😘

They're not brothers. Just super talented. As others have recommended, check out one of their other songs with the full band.
So they do have louder stuff but the name comes from the band some of them were in called Dream. They said they were Ex Dream, which sounded like Extreme so they went with that as the name lol

NUNO BETTENCOURT, the guitar player, was (idk if he still is) the Guitarist for Rihanna
Love this but the Official video is better.
Live is always better. You get to see how talented, or not, they really are.
The live version with the awesome audience participation is fantastic.
Timeless vibe
Now that youve seen this, check out the other side of extreme. "Get the funk out" is a rocker
Their other great song is Holehearted...check it out 😊
If you ever watch a live Rihanna video you might notice Nuno there playing guitar. He's been her guitar player for ages.
Great Song...thank you for bringing back this memory for me
Those "people" on the stage are the rest of the group.
They're not brothers and actually had a falling out. Eventually, things got mended, and they recently put out a new album, and are touring now.
There's a song with a very similar message called "When You Say Nothing At All". The best cover of it IMO is by Alison Kraus.
This was huge and I can't remember anything else they ever did.
I saw a different video of them singing this and I liked the way they look in that one much better! Check it out!
You gotta check out their official music video "HOLE HEARTED". ❤
I’ll check it out!
Just seen them about a month ago, still amazing and an awesome live band. And for those that have heard "Rise", yes, he nails the solo, nothing studio about it.

Got to watch Rise from their last release. Pure Rock guitar magic
This is a group not a duo. They have 6 albums
Great song
They just released a new album last year and they are fantastic!!!! They didn't miss a beat I honestly think you would love their song over the rainbow
One of the best songs and best duos ever.
Gorgeous song! I’m glad got to enjoy this!! 😅
Now you have to react to Jack Black and Jimmy Fallon's rendition of this song. It's actually really good but it's funny because of the faces Jack makes while he's singing lol😂
You should check out Hole Hearted by Extreme. Cool tune. The official video version is the best.

One of my favorite songs
Gotta do the music video
Also, you HAVE to react to Jack Black and Jimmy Fallon covering/recreating the video. Absolute gold tier
There’s a great cover by Steven Tyler and Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme’s guitarist) from the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony you should check out
Nuno Bettencourt. On guitar. PDC. Nuff said.
Premier guitar player. Tour with many including Steven Tyler and Rihana.
I have the album this is from: Pornograffitti. More Than Words and Hole Hearted are the only slower songs on it. The rest is very much hard rock.
Nuno is a guitar god.
You should do the music video for Get the funk out
Happy Hump day everyone 🐧🍀💋

To see the other side of Extreme check out the studio version of “Get the Funk Out”.
Thanks for the excellent content.
This song transients the eges
A metal band that can do great acoustics too. " Actions speaks louder than words ". You should watch the original music video.
Harmonizing is easy - harmonizing well is fucking hard. You can half ass it, these boys do not
I am in love, with the song and yo……..
They are four member band dear, not duo ❤❤
They are a heavy rock band, their other songs are on the heavier side.
This is a great song but You gotta do the official vid. They harmonize soo much better and the vid rocks!!!
Would be the perfect panny dropper music. Except for how impossible it is to sign.
The guitar part is easy, especially for Nuno.
listen to their song " mutha" .. muc more rock n roll :) big love to all people :)
Get the Funk Out {official video}
Hole Hearted
Kid Ego
Extreme is a great band. Their music is quite difficult at times. Nuno (the guitarist) is one of the greatest guitar players on this planet. I could easily label him as a virtuoso. No, Gary (the singer) and Nuno are not brothers. Thank you for the reaction!
"Color Me Blind" by Extreme is a masterpiece! I hope you will give it a listen sometime. Cheers!
They’re not related just super talented extreme is usually rock music but they did this song exceptionally good 😊❤
Another example of live is always better.
Try Fiji veikoso song, called darling.you will love it.
Grew up back then...but you might wanna search out some MTV Unplugged videos...see the other side of musicians without the production elements.
I’m not sure if you have done a reaction to Chris Isaak “ WICKED GAME” a def PD to add
Yt been glitching all day for me too
FYI Extreme is not a duo, their a 4 pice band. Notice the bass player and the drummer at the very beginning.
You should check out get the funk out live…… or their queen tribute concert…. They are not brothers….they are awesome
Not related. Gary Cheone is the lead singer Nuno Bettencourt on guitar
You need to watch the original video
