PDC: Panty Dropping Club - where the songs are hot and the panties will drop 🤭
Ha, love it. H&O are on the Mr. Rushmore of the blue-eyed soul PDC subcommittee! Try "Maneater" and "I Can’t Go for That" next. You've got a great voice, by the way; subscribed!
Ohhhhhh I will indeed add those to the list. Thank you so much and WELCOME TO THE PARTY!!!!
Also...check out their cover of Me and Mrs. Jones
Still my favorite Hall & Oates song. Britt you got to check out the original album version of I Can't Go For That , then do the version with Cee-lo Green from Live From Daryl's House , its better than the album version
This is one of the greatest songs of 70's.
Remember that these older bands didn't use auto tune or anything like that. They were skilled at their vocals and instruments.
Lots of modern band can play and sing. I think people embellish the autotune way too much. It's like the invention of the electric guitar and saying well you know people played better on acoustic.
@@michaelstiller2282nope, not even close
@@alexsherel3344 the songs you find just not your cup of tea. For example, this is a new song. The skill is off the charts. No autotune. th-cam.com/video/vWgpJ0k820w/w-d-xo.htmlsi=N6h5BVv5NGMFNFSD
@@alexsherel3344 go find a song, "black smoke rising" tell me if it doesn't sound like older music. Because that all the comments say. No autotune. Full rock band.
Exactly! Today's crap doesn't even compare to the old days of actual true talent.
Half of the people born in the 70s were conceived to this song. The rest probably to Luther Vandross or Barry White.
I believe it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Or to "Miracles" by Jefferson Starship or "Slow Ride" by Foghat!
Don't forget about Issac Hayes
Tru dat
Al Green as well
I just love young people finding songs from my 'old days'.
Based on his girlfriend Sara, who were together 30 years until breaking up in 2001. She did an interview, said she was in a grocery store years after they broke up and the song came on and she broke down in tears.
They're also in we are the world
Did they ever get married?
@@amanduuhhh9313 No they didn't.
Daryl wrote this song for his longtime partner Sara Allen. Daryl Hall is an incredible singer who was traine by his vocal coach mom from age 3. And, yes, the ladies love him.
The crazy thing about Daryl Hall is that he doesn't warm up his voice. He just does this all naturally. He does a show called Daryls House. On a episode with John Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls they discuss this. Great show if you want to learn about how music is created and it's history.
Great show.
Must do a reaction to the Cee Lo Green's Daryl's house with F*ck You. I know Brit you try to keep it clean but this is a must, funny too.
Daryl's house, Leavin' with Shelby Lynne. Just stunning, and Daryl in his late 60's. Wow.
Yeah that was a great show, stumbled on it in the early YT days. The PBS home reno show This Old House went and visited Daryl's house and he talked about how he renovated that 1800's house over the years and gave a tour and talked about how he loved old houses and I think bought a smaller one, moved it and attached it to the original house giving him that studio space.
@@chasbikeravda3933
Actually, Darryl is 77 as of 10/2024. Ridiculous, right?! He sure doesn’t look it!
When you're talking Hall & Oates you don't get one without the other, one of the best duo chemistries ever. I was late grade school when they were big, we used to save up lawnmowing money, go to the record, LP vinyl, store and buy music. Hall & Oates albums were worth mowing lawns for.
Greatest Duo in Pop History. "Rich Girl", Kiss On My List", "Private Eyes", "Maneater"," I Can't Go For That(No Can Do)" and "Out of Touch" are their number one hits. Good starting point. Many more hits after these six.
My childhood and teen years of Hall and Oats
All of the Above!
Don’t forget “One on One” my favorite.
Well, I would argue and say that Simmon & Garfunkel had something going on too... :)
@@tackanderson4270 According to the charts, Hall and Oates were more successful than Simon and Garfunkel.
I was born in 75, so I’ve heard them basically all of my life, his voice is a panacea
Just found out Dianna Ross was such a fan that during the We Are The World recording session she walked up to him told him how much she admired him and asked him for his autograph 🙏🙏🙏👍👍💯
Omg I just watched that on Netflix a few hrs ago!!!!! I was surprised to learn that too.
I would’ve said “Sure, if I can get yours as well.” 😉
And then her panties dropped
He ended up writing her a song too. Lol
What?!?😮 What a compliment!
Hall & Oats were and I believe still are the most popular-highest selling duet of all time.
I grew up with them, 70s-80s was the best time for amazing music, so many amazing artists including my fav, The Eagles
Simon & Garfunkle were great too though.
The Eagles were the best. Simon and Garfunkel are up there, too.
you are right , it was my time too
Duo not duet
She’s Gone (shared lead) and You’ve Lost That Lovin Feeling feature John’s voice.
Man eater is good
The Philly Sound. Tribute to the Everly Brothers.
She's Gone is totally my favorite song ..; awesome
@@alainvosselman9960 I have so many H&O favorites that IDK if I could even pick 10 favorites…
@@SoundofSilence492 Yeah, they are really talented. All of their songs are good but not always my personal taste. I did watch an entire recorded live gig and really enjoyed it.
Even the songs i don't like that much really were sounding great live.
“She’s Gone” to me is their best song! “Sara” is number two! When you hear and feel that song, you’ll understand!
I was going to argue, but damn I can't. I miss and love the 70s
Hall & Oates are an American pop rock duo who had their biggest success in the 70's-80's. They had a lot of great hits such as "Rich Girl", Kiss On My List", "Private Eyes", "I Can't Go For That", "Maneater", "She's Gone", "You Make My Dreams", "Family Man", "Say It Isn't So", "Method Of Modern Love" etc.
Don't forget "out of touch" Total banger!!!!!!
Google box is loaded
Yes that white man (Daryl Hall) can sing with some soul! 🔥You runnin' out of panties yet? Need a Victoria Secret run!😅Hall & Oates were a hit making machine back in our day. Now go take a cold shower and have the day you deserve 😂 😂
*In my best Dad voice* "Ahem, you are grounded, young lady! "😆
😂😂
Haha!
Lol
Hall & Oates have the most hits by a duet.
I’m not surprised after witnessing this!!
@@brittreacts Just found Your channel. Love Your reactions, I of course subscribed. You have got a lot of subscribers for such a short time doing this, congrats. You are absolutely beautiful btw.
Sarah was a Philly girl that put a smile on Darryl’s face for a life time…. What a great song 1974/75 times out of period…. Oh Yeah!
It was written about Hall's then-girlfriend, stewardess Sara Allen. The couple were together for almost 30 years before breaking up in 2001. Peace out.
If you were ever a fan of "Daryl's House" (where he has famous musicians come to his home originally to jam), in on episode not too many years ago he is doing introductions with a famous musician and he says "And this is Sara." If you blinked, you missed it. I had to rewind it to make sure and it certainly was her. So she is still in his life in some form. I wish that I remember the episode.
@@TripoutskiI saw that episode! I did a double take on that too!
@@TripoutskiSara was introduced to Wyclef Jean, THAT’S the episode.
Hall and Oates were/are icons. They were incredibly popular back in the day
You should check out the Daryl's House episode with Cee Lo Green and listen to their version of "I Can't Go For That". I guarantee you that this performance will have you dancing in your chair.
Daryl's House is a TV Show where Daryl Hall invites musicians over to his house and they just jam out and eat lunch. They will do a version of a Hall & Oates song and one of the artist who is currently there. They're all recorded live and sometimes they show pieces of them arranging the song. It's pretty freaken amazing tbh.
Truth
There are quite a few episodes worth checking out!! 👍👍
It’s one of the best live sessions to witness. You can’t help but smile through it. ✌️♥️🎶
A very soulful rabbit hole you’re about to go down!!!
My favorite song by Hall and Oates. You should check out more videos from Daryl's House. Daryl Hall is awesome
The fact that he’s still got it in his 70’s is everything 😊
Love Daryl's House!! One big Jam Session!!
As someone who grew up with H&O, I love watching a new generation fall in love with them.
Back in the 80's, everyone had this song on that Slow Jam Tape you played when romancing. Black, White, Asian, it didn't matter. You used the power of Hall & Oates it set the mood.
70's baby here. One of my favorite groups and songs. Some of the best music.
I mentioned it last time…Hall & Oates-“Sara Smile”!! Now, you must check out the radio version. Smooth. One of the nicest songs ever. You must check out the studio version. You will add it to your playlist before the song ends! Hall & Oates are the best selling duo in history. Check out “One on One” (great Saxophone) . Darryl Hall is the tall blonde. Does most of the lead singing. “I Can’t Go For That”; “Rich Girl”; “Maneater”; “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling”; “She’s Gone”…Many hits!
"One on one" is my favorite ❤
23 second held note! Lord Daryl Hall.
I would always suggest listening to the studio version of any song before a live version.
The best version I've ever heard is "Sara Smile Jimmy Wayne and Daryl Hall" from live at Daryls house. Jimmy Wayne kills this song! You can find this live version on youtube.
He does kill that song in a great way
WOW!!! Thanks for clueing us in on that version. Jimmy Wayne got overflow soul.
Yes please more Hall & Oates....they got more soul than almost anyone
Daryl Hall.... Icon! Check out Celo Green live at Daryl's House singing Daryl's Hit .... "I cant go for that"..... A match made in Heaven!
She already did that one.
Daryl Hall was one of the solo singers on “We are the world”. Oates was in the choir.
Yes he was & Britt didn't recognize him👍✌️
Hall and Oates will always and forever be two of my favorites. So much soul.
Great reaction! Try their song "She's Gone"!
Hall and Oates have been my favorite Duo to listen to since 1980. I remember listening to them in Junior High. It felt like they came out with new hit every week.
The song is from 1975. They are the bestselling duo of all times. They have hits for days. Darrel Hall is the lead singer. John Oats is the guitar player. The chorus of "Sara Smile" was reworked in 1996 by Northern California rapper B-Legit into the song "Ghetto Smile", collaborating with Hall who recorded new vocals.
I''ll tell you what Sara did, "She's Gone". Definitely my favorite song by Hall & Oates. Great reaction as always.
Daryl Hall and John Oates, one of the greatest musical duos in history. Hits since the 70s, including Rich Girl (do that one next Britt!), Private Eyes, Kiss On My List, Method of Modern Love, and many more. Sara Smile is iconic.
I was in my 20's in the 70's and yes you would have loved it. Greatest decade of music ever.
Hall & Oates brings back so many memories..✌🏼
Daryl Hall and John Oates are fantastic. Check out more of their catalogue. True Blue Eyed Soul.
This is my 2nd favorite song by this duo behind She's Gone.
Britt...girl! The expressions on yo face are just killin me!
Hall & Oates are a package deal you can't have one in the PDC without the other as their other tracks will show. Love your reactions to the classics, keep up the great work! ❤
Ok now you're talking DP in the PDC which might be too much for the OP! OMG!
😁
Darryl is 77 years old now and still going strong - watch him on Live From Darryl's House where he sings with other artists.....several do other versions of Sara Smile that are great....
YES! And with Smokey singing with him, WOW!
Oh yeah , they called it blue eyed soul. They were super stars and Daryl is still a great singer to this day. Got to see him invite other giants into his home studio on Daryl’s place
They hate the term “blue eyed soul.” They say soul is just soul. ❤
The term is older than Hall and Oats , Righteous Brothers were referred to with that term
@@audiemccall5332 Yes, I understand that. Just saying they don’t like that term. 🤷♀️
They're freaken Rock n Roll Hall of Famers!!!
Listen on 54 years old, was listening to Hall & Oates one of my favorite bands. Blue eyed soul all day long
These two gentlemen have sold millions and millions of records that are known as blue-eyed soul
... and now they are fighting each other in court. Bet you never thought you would see that!
Hall & Oates are (still, I believe) the highest selling pop duo of ALL TIME. So yeah, they weren't too bad!! Keep on down that rabbit hole.
Sara was Hall's girl. Can you imagine having these guys write that song and sing it for you?
Love, love, LOVE Hall and Oates!!
Lots of great songs down this rabbit hole.
girl, i spit my coffee out when you said, GET IN HERE. Hall is the blonde, Oates be the stache.
The definition of Blue-Eyed soul
Gotta say, being a teen and young adult during this time, this was some boot knockin music!!!
Darryl Hall …….what a voice ❤
Their 3 70s songs are GOLD
The lead singer is Daryl hall. The guitar player is John oats.
Daryl has a show called Weekend at Daryls. Where he invites various artists to his farm. He has a recording studio in his barn, and they go back and forth doing each other's songs.
It's Phenomenal.
Britt please react to Hall and Oates She’s Gone (1976). You will get to hear John Oates sing more on this track. I personally believe you’ll have another member in the PDC after this one!
One of the best voices in music! Miss these guys so much!
Top 5 greatest song of my lifetime.
Studio version was EPIC !!!
Believe it or not there are even better recordings of this song by Hall and Oats !!!
Jimmy Wayne's version is better imho....sorry Darryl. And I'm a hard core Hall & Oates fan.
Every song from these guys is a banger!
I'm telling you, for PDC you need to hear One on One by Hall and Oates
That’s the next one, for sure.
That was my era! Hall & Oates..."Blue-Eyed Soul" was what their music was called in the '70's. Yasssss! Daryl Hall (lead singer with blue eyes) and Jon Oates (guitarist and back-up vocals) was hitmakers when I was in junior and high school.
PDC Hall Of Fame!
They were major. Massive. Fantastic I the ‘70’s, blew up in the ‘80’s. Anything from the ‘80’s. They went from lots of straight soul to pop rock soul.
70s 4 me
One of my favs
I love you are listening and redacted to 70's music. I'm 66 and this music and the music of the 60 shaped my life. Lost family in Vietnam. We will always move forward
One of my favorites from them. So so good.
Gotta check out their catalog because they have so many great songs.
Studio version will BLOW YOU AWAY!!!!!
My favorite hit of their's! ✨
This is the greatest video reaction I've ever seen. I watched a hundred of yours, nothin could prepare for this. Straight up fire and hilarious all at the same time.
Her Baby come back was good too.
Hall & Oates have more feel and soul than Teddy will ever know!
Almost every song they can make you feel this way.
I forgot how great they were, see we oldies new a thing or two about music
Looking more beautiful than ever Britt.
I would recommend the same song live at Daryl’s house with Jimmy Wayne . Awesome performance!
They have a HUGE catalog of hits; Daryl Hall and John Oates ... you can't miss with anything you choose from them.
Please, please, keep going with Hall & Oats!!
You picked a great version to react to. I had not heard it before. Sarah Smile is one of my favorite songs growing up and this version is just awesome.
I've just watched a couple three of your videos - figured out the PDC. That's brilliant! Nicely done Britt!
70s were chock-full of smooth romantic love making music what a time to be alive
there really was a sara. he was with her for years. she was the inspiration for his song
Ive always love this group!!!
Thanks!
Lead singer is Darryl Hall. You should search a series he did called Darryl’s House, where he had several different artists come & jam at his studios, with the artists trade singing verses from each others hits, like C-Lo Greene, or The O’Jays.
Love your reactions. Love this song. Obscure fact: These Mr. Hall and Mr. Oats made great music together. They had a fallen out. Beef unpreparable. However, they would tour for years together. Get on stage, act like best friends. Then get off stage and never speak. Lessons we all should learn to work together.😎
"Sara Smile" studio version should be on your playlist!
No need for them to embellish their already perfect song. (Stick to the studio version.)
Yeh, you need to hear more Hall and Oates, even if on your own.
I Love watching your reviews. Your such a smart and beautiful young lady. Keep up the reviews, (you should have been born in the 60’s bcos your an old soul. Rock on, and may God Bless you and you’re family.
Welcome to Hall & Oates. Blue-eyed soul at it's best. Legends.
Let me explain if I'm work the hearts mean I love the music you bring to the table and the thumbs up means keep up the outstanding work darlin ❤️
I am 65 years old, and I remember vividly dancing to this song at my Senior Prom. Thank you for this!........Class of 1977
I love your commitment to express yourself and make me feel welcome to a new world where we can listen to great music with an even better host!!!! 10/10
Every time I hear the song, I have to come over here and watch your reaction again lol! Saw them live in 1982 with my mother when I was in the 2nd grade lol
