I love African-American women like Ida B Wells, Isabel Wilkerson, Ava Duvernay, Nicole Hannah Jones, Michelle Alexander, Melissa Victoria Harris - Perry (formally known as Melissa Victoria Harris - Lacewell, is an American writer, professor, television host, and political commentator), with a focus on African-American policies and politics (Who has made a positive difference for us all to follow and emulate). You all make me a proud African-American, and spark much Joy in me and many others, and make the world a better place to live in for us all and future generations! I loved Isabel’s masterpiece book “The Warmth of Other Suns”. Her book “Caste” did not get the recognition it deserves because it cuts too close to the bone concerning what BIPOC lives with in the USA Today. Think You, Ava Duvernay for making the deserved recognition happen for Isabel Wilkerson. God bless you for being so wonderful, brilliant, and vivacious! You made my TH-cam playlist and day.

01/29/2024: This movie is excellent. It is entertaining and educational. I plan on buying the movie. I have love actress Aunjane Ellis-Taylor since "Girls Town" and "Undercover Brother", her performance in this is outstanding. Now, I have to read the book Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents.

The book is excellent. I just finished it yesterday, and you will be forever changed. Like you, I will be purchasing the movie and book. It's my plan to incorporate Ms. Wilkerson's work into my teaching. If you're in Toronto, the public library has the e-book and audiobook if you're interested.

Ava DuVernay is an extraordinary human being and filmmaker. This was a good interview but somewhat strange as to why the broadcaster would seek to extrapolate the systematic oppression of Palestinians away from the rest of humanity and to double down on the point.
No human beings are chosen, as any more special than our neighbors or of less worth to humanity. The economics of oppressors dictate the perceived value of the oppressed. That inconsistency didn't go by us.
Testimony to the power and grace of Miss DuVernay who is a mighty force with much more to contribute.

The shot of the back of her head recurring so often is distracting, unnecessary and unflattering. Im so distracted that I had to stop watching and try to listen while I type this because I can't stand seeing the back of her head blurred. I don't have much time to consume media and I just found out about this film and Im binging....but now I gotta watch this twice.

Filmmakers choices are theirs. You make your own film and you get to makes your own choices. Its as simple as that. No one defines or makes their film for one persons’a approval.

common to racism, caste & all systems of othering begins with the dehumanization of select individuals &/or groups of people while completely missing the fact that a high tide lifts all boats
