    What are your thoughts on the CVT in the new Maximum tho? (300HP) Also my girlfriend likes this one I like the Maximum, we are getting ready to go cross country.. What do you suggest? Is there enough room for me to lay down in the back of the Rav if I fold the seats down in the back? It really seemed like it struggled when trying to accelerate on the highway. I noticed the lag. However I do like how the posted speed limit and other traffic signs pop up on your dashboard.

The transmission a safety hazard and I can not deal with this any more. I am going to loose money when I trade. I sent an email to Toyota about the problem He said Toyota had "no record of any problems with the 8 speed transmission". They are denying problems. This will be my last if they can not fix it.

    Oh! This isn't the Hybrid variant. I hope you make a video for the Hybrid version. The gas build isn't even worth a breath. The engine is much more quiet, so is the ride, and not to mention that sweet 40mpg for only $800 more.

    • @herbalursa3524
      @herbalursa3524 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not anymore than the gas version save for the battery. Toyota built this beast to last like all the rest of their vehicles. That's why they're slow on things like Android Auto, Blind spot monitor, and other vehicle amenities and customizations. They look out for the end user and the longevity of their products. They suck at customer service though. and someone should really look into controlling automobile prices. They're so heavily inflated. This isn't a 40k vehicle, but they're selling it like one.

    The engine is noisy because Toyota cheaped out on putting noise insulation on the bottom side of the hood. I really expected more from Toyota, usually they don't overlook these kinds of things. It's something GM would try get away with, why Toyota did that is baffling.

One has to get a convenience package pushing the xle to almost 30k before you can get that feature. The rav 4 is no longer for the average car buyer who could not afford a luxry brand. I test drove the 2019 RAV4 XLE today......HUGE disappointment, way overpriced for a vehicle that looks and feels cheap inside and out. The enormous plastic "stick-ons" on the vehicle body look so cheap I can't believe Toyota went with them; reminds me of an enormous toy truck. Inside is cheap and poorly designed as well, and the stick-on dashboard tablet looks ridiculously amateurish and intrusive. When I accelerated onto the highway the engine noise was awful and gave the impression of a cheap, weak engine. What a letdown after all the hype and waiting for the 2019 model.

    • @YellowJacket530
      @YellowJacket530 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@avecrux333 Yeah, that's fair man. I actually don't think it's that bad. I think the price and value comes from the reliability of the engine along with the gas mileage of the vehicle. A lot of the issues I see people having with the vehicle are aesthetic. The others in this class are the CRV, Forester and the CX-5. The Forester has the CVT transmission (I'm not a fan of) and the repairs on Subaru's expensive (I currently own a Legacy). In addition, their engines start giving off issues at around the 100,000 mark. The CX-5 has the luxury feel to it initially but upon closer inspection and use, it fades away quickly. Their infotainment system also has a few bugs. Still a great car but not as great as folks make it out to be. I'll be honest, I don't know much on the CRV but I just didn't personally find it as appealing. Is the Rav4 perfect? No. But if you're looking for a long-term investment, I think it's a better option. The CX-5 would be my go-to for a lease/city. Subaru is great for the snow/mountains.

    • @avecrux333
      @avecrux333 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      YellowJacket530 I totally agree on reliability of the Toyotas. That's why I'm frustrated with the poor aesthetics, and I was half hoping Toyota would see these complaints about that on review videos where I gave my input. I bought Honda for 30 years and their interior designs and choice of materials always meet or exceed expectations, especially this year. BUT the CR-V has oil dilution problems in the current model and I didn't want the Forester for the same reason you don't - the CVT problem. That leaves the over-priced RAV4. What would it take, Toyota, to give your customers a fair value and pleasing aesthetics along with reliability? Not much, but their trim levels barely cut it so the customer feels shorted.

    • @tommy13965
      @tommy13965 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ave Crux its just not the rav4 all Toyotas have cheap interiors, i was checking out the 2018 camry and the A pillar with the jbl speaker cover is like a tack on very cheap.
