    Question: How does the moon rotation on its own axis and orbit around earth affect the movement of shadows on the moon. For example, at what speed do the shadows change on the moon compared to Earth. Let's say you placed a stick on earth you can see the shadow changing fairly quickly. How different would the same take place on the moon?

    • @WwZa7
      @WwZa7 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pretty much the same way, but instead of waiting 12 hours to see the shadow complete it's full path, you would have to wait 328 hours. (a lunar day is 656h)

    I wish I could find the answer to this: what path over earth does the moon take? Is there a pattern? Is it different every month? If so, why? Is there a resource that will tell me what path the moon will take each month?

    • @DavidMFChapman
      @DavidMFChapman 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Perhaps you are thinking about the places on Earth where the Moon is directly overhead? That is complicated, because the Earth rotates beneath the Moon every day while it revolves around the Earth every month. It would be a very tight spiral curve.

      @frankdimeglio8216 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DavidMFChapman ON THE ESSENTIAL AND NECESSARY RELATION OF E=MC2 AS F=MA (IN BALANCE), AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is clearly gravity AS WHAT IS NECESSARILY POSSIBLE/POTENTIAL AND ACTUAL IN BALANCE:
      Energy has/involves GRAVITY, AND ENERGY has/involves inertia/INERTIAL RESISTANCE. Gravity AND ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy are linked AND BALANCED opposites, AS E=MC2 IS F=ma; AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is gravity ! Gravity is ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy. The stars AND PLANETS are POINTS in the night sky. ACCORDINGLY, the Moon AND THE PLANETS move AWAY very, very, very slightly in comparison to WHAT IS THE SUN !! SO, carefully consider what is THE EYE !! Finally, think about what is the speed of light (c). E=MC2 is CLEARLY F=ma (ON BALANCE), AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is gravity !
      Magnificent. It ALL does CLEARLY make perfect sense ON BALANCE !!! This does explain the fourth dimension, including the term c4 therewith !!! "Mass"/ENERGY involves BALANCED inertia/INERTIAL RESISTANCE consistent with/as what is BALANCED electromagnetic/gravitational force/ENERGY, AS E=MC2 IS F=ma; AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is gravity. (Gravity IS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy.) Gravity/acceleration involves BALANCED inertia/INERTIAL RESISTANCE, AS E=MC2 IS F=ma, AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is gravity ! Accordingly, the rotation of WHAT IS THE MOON matches it's revolution. So, notice that what is THE MOON is basically dead or inert ON BALANCE !!! GREAT. INDEED, objects fall at the SAME RATE (neglecting air resistance, of course); AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is gravity; AS E=MC2 IS F=ma ON BALANCE !!! The sky is BLUE, AND what is THE EARTH is ALSO BLUE !! (Notice what is THE EYE !!) ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is gravity. E=MC2 is CLEARLY proven to be F=ma ON BALANCE, AS gravity IS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy !!! Great.
      Carefully consider what is the Sun. (Very importantly, outer "space" involves full inertia; AND it is fully invisible AND black.) Consider what is BALANCED observer dependent/related experience ! Carefully consider the man (INCLUDING what is THE EYE) who actually IS in outer "space". NOW, think about TIME; AS the stars AND PLANETS are POINTS in the night sky. INSTANTANEITY is therefore FUNDAMENTAL to what is the FULL and proper UNDERSTANDING of physics/physical experience. So, here we have established what can basically and sensibly be understood as constituting a one dimensional relation. A white dwarf star is about the size of the Earth, AND it is ALSO (ON BALANCE) the PROJECTED form or fate (IN TIME) of the Sun !!! Great !!! Stellar clustering ALSO proves (ON BALANCE) that E=MC2 IS F=ma, AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is gravity. Against what is outer "space", why would the Sun maintain what is its "preferential" existence ? The answer is THE EYE/the observer. INDEED, notice that THE EYE is invisible AND VISIBLE IN BALANCE; AS E=MC2 IS F=ma; AS gravity IS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy ! Now, ON BALANCE, consider what is the speed of light (c). A galaxy is basically FLAT. SO, think about a TWO dimensional surface OR SPACE (ON BALANCE) as well. HALF of the galaxies are "dead" or inert, AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is gravity; AS E=MC2 IS F=ma !! Carefully consider what is THE EYE !!
      TIME dilation ULTIMATELY proves (ON BALANCE) that E=MC2 IS F=ma, AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is gravity. INDEED, TIME is NECESSARILY possible/potential AND actual IN BALANCE; AS E=MC2 IS F=ma; AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is gravity. Gravity IS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy. Great.
      E=MC2 IS F=ma. This NECESSARILY represents, INVOLVES, AND DESCRIBES what is possible/potential AND actual IN BALANCE, AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is gravity. Gravity IS ELECTROMAGNETISM energy.
      Excellent !!! BALANCE and completeness go hand in hand !!!
      GRAVITATIONAL force/ENERGY IS proportional to (or BALANCED with/as) inertia/INERTIAL RESISTANCE, AS E=MC2 IS F=ma ON BALANCE; AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is gravity. Gravity IS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy. Consider WHAT IS THE MAN who IS standing on what is THE EARTH/ground. Touch AND feeling BLEND, AS E=MC2 IS F=ma; AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is gravity. Think about TIME !!! NOW, the stars AND PLANETS do REMAIN AS what are POINTS in the night sky. TIME dilation ULTIMATELY proves ON BALANCE that ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is gravity, AS E=MC2 IS F=ma. This explains the cosmological redshift AND the "black holes". Gravity IS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy. It ALL CLEARLY makes perfect sense, AS BALANCE AND completeness go hand in hand. Gravity/acceleration involves BALANCED inertia/INERTIAL RESISTANCE, AS E=MC2 is CLEARLY F=ma ON BALANCE, AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is gravity. The fact that the rotation of WHAT IS THE MOON matches it's revolution is not a meaningless coincidence, AS the fact that both the Sun AND the Moon are the SAME SIZE in the sky is not some sort of a meaningless coincidence. Notice the match with the size of what is THE EYE. Magnificent !!! It ALL CLEARLY makes perfect sense, AS BALANCE AND completeness go hand in hand. E=MC2 IS CLEARLY F=ma ON BALANCE, AS gravity AND ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy are linked AND BALANCED opposites; AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is gravity ON BALANCE !!! Gravity IS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy. Great !!! Carefully consider what are the POINTS in the night sky ON BALANCE !!! Think about the necessity (or essential nature) of TIME, AS E=MC2 IS clearly F=ma ON BALANCE !!! Great. It is proven.
      ("Mass"/ENERGY IS GRAVITY. ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is gravity. E=MC2 IS F=ma.) Consider what is THE SUN AND what is THE EARTH/ground in DIRECT comparison, AS the stars AND PLANETS are POINTS in the night sky !!!
      GREAT !!! E=MC2 IS F=ma !!!!

    I have a scientific question about moonlight. Can someone clarify this information from Google in summary? _"Because the body is also able to absorb more nutrients during the waxing moon, the skin also benefits from this. During the waning moon, the skin looks more tired. The pores are larger as the skin cleanses itself. Even a few pimples may appear just about the time of waning moon."_

    I'm genuinely curious. He said if we face the southern sky, the moon rises in the east and sets in the west. But then just a minute or so further in the video says the moon orbits counter clockwise. Going from west to east. I can't comprehend how we see it as the opposite.

    • @theronsokol8078
      @theronsokol8078 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I figured it out. It's because the earth rotates faster than the moon rotates around the earth. So that we can't really notice from our perspective it's going the same way.

    The animation showing the Moon's orbit around the Earth is misleading. The Moon's orbital path is always concave toward the sun.

    • @cantstoptommy7077
      @cantstoptommy7077 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also the moon doesn’t orbit over the Earth’s poles as shown in the animation either!! (2:17)

    • @frankdimeglio8216
      @frankdimeglio8216 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cantstoptommy7077 UNDERSTANDING WHAT IS THE COMPARATIVE AND BALANCED BODILY/VISUAL EXPERIENCE OF THE MAN WHO IS STANDING ON WHAT IS THE MOON:
      The BULK DENSITY of the Moon is comparable to that of (volcanic) basaltic LAVAS on the Earth. The energy density of LAVA IS about three times that of water. SO, now, get a good and CLEAR look at what is the ORANGE SUN.
      The human body is, in fact, about as dense as water ! Look up at the blue sky. Importantly, this is a balanced BODILY/VISUAL EXPERIENCE !! The Moon is ALSO BLUE, AS it is barely visible then; AND the Earth is ALSO BLUE. SO, let's now match up (on balance) the eye, the blue sky, AND the ORANGE "Sun"/LAVA. Notice the basic match in sizes and brightness when considering the SETTING AND fully illuminated Moon AS WELL.
      (Most of the human body is water, with an average of roughly 60 percent. The average density of the Moon is also 60 percent in comparison with that of the Earth.) Beautiful.
      Relatively speaking, the terrestrial moon is, in fact, roughly a match (regarding it's size, at 27 percent) WITH the surface land area of the Earth (at 29 percent).
      In conclusion, in establishing the comparative AND BALANCED BODILY/VISUAL EXPERIENCE of gravity on what is the Moon, we would multiply one HALF times one third in order to get the correct answer. This explains quantum gravity, AS E=MC2 IS F=ma; AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is gravity; AS gravity/acceleration involves BALANCED inertia/INERTIAL RESISTANCE. Accordingly, the rotation of WHAT IS THE MOON matches it's revolution !!! Great.
      Consider the relation with the tides. The Moon is ALSO BLUE.
      E=MC2 IS F=ma ON BALANCE. This NECESSARILY represents, INVOLVES, AND DESCRIBES what is possible/potential AND actual IN BALANCE, AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is gravity. Gravity IS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy. In conclusion, I have mathematically proven that the gravity of what is THE MOON is ONE SIXTH in direct comparison with what is THE EARTH/ground; AS gravity/acceleration involves BALANCED inertia/INERTIAL RESISTANCE; AS E=MC2 IS F=ma; AS GRAVITATIONAL force/energy IS proportional to (or BALANCED with/as) inertia/INERTIAL RESISTANCE. Gravity IS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy.
      Think QUANTUM GRAVITY !!!
      Think energy DENSITY. It all CLEARLY makes perfect sense ON BALANCE.
      The ENERGY DENSITY of LAVA is about THREE TIMES greater than water. There would be no gravity on the blue Earth, AS the EYE then stands in balanced relation WITH what is the BLUE sky !! BALANCED BODILY/VISUAL EXPERIENCE does then dictate that the gravity of WHAT IS THE MOON would be reduced by (and at) one half, thereby bringing the surface gravity of what is THE MOON to BALANCE with that of THE EARTH/ground at one sixth. So, one half (ON BALANCE) of one third is one sixth. The orange "Sun" AND what is THE MOON ARE BALANCED with what is THE EYE. (Think about what is LAVA.)
      Notice, comparatively, that these forms or manifestations ARE semi-detached in relation to touch/tactical EXPERIENCE !!
      Moreover, the Moon is TERRESTRIAL in COMPARISON; SO (ON BALANCE) the Moon is ALSO then about one quarter (at 27 percent) the size of EARTH/ground !! The blue Pacific OCEAN takes up about HALF of the view of what is the Earth ON BALANCE !! SO, we WOULD multiply ONE HALF (ON BALANCE) in order to account for WHAT IS THE MOON, this ORANGE "Sun", AND LAVA on balance !!
      Now, in conclusion, the land surface area of the Earth is 29 percent. This is exactly ON BALANCE WITH BOTH one third AND one fourth, AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is gravity !
      E=MC2 IS CLEARLY F=ma ON BALANCE ! Gravity IS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy. Great.

    I think it is a terrible mistake to represent the Moon moving perpendicular to the Equator, it's very confusing for those that can't discern. It should be seen from one of the poles, and wich pole determines the sense of the motion (counterclockwise from the north pole, clockwise from the south). An eclipse doesn't happen every new moon because the moon's orbit around the Earth is tilted relative to the Earth's orbit around the sun. As a result, during most new moons, the moon passes above or below the sun in the sky, and no eclipse occurs. They all have to line up to have an eclipse and it is only seen on specific regions on earth.

    at 7 minutes it shows the sun orbiting the earth... why?

    • @chemistryqueen8815
      @chemistryqueen8815 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because the ecliptic is an imaginary line or plane in space that represents the path of the Sun AS SEEN FROM Earth over the course of a year. It's point of view is from earth.

    Moon simply rises from west Not east , and sets in east Not west .

      How could you have watched this video and still posted the comment you did?
      Did you understand nothing about what was explained about the fact that the moon exhibits SYNCHRONOUS ROTATION, where the time it takes to complete 1 rotation, is equal to the time it takes to complete 1 orbit, which is why the same side of the moon always faces earth?
      This is due to the phenomenon of 'tidal locking', which isn't explained in this video, but can be found in many other videos.

    "Maria"? That's a girl's name. The lunar "maria" is accented on the FIRST syllable.

  • @justgonnastay

    Saying that the full moon rises in the early evening is incomplete. The full moon always rises at sunset.

    • @chemistryqueen8815
      @chemistryqueen8815 ปีที่แล้ว

      The moon does not always rise at sunset. The timing of moon rise depends on several factors like the of the phases of the moon, the latitude and longitude of the observer, and the time of year. There are times when you can view the moon in the afternoon.

    • @kitcanyon658
      @kitcanyon658 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chemistryqueen8815: He's referring to a "full" moon, so what he says is pretty correct. A FULL moon will rise right about the time the sun sets, since it is opposite from the sun. The exact timing may or may not jive precisely with a local sunset but the idea is correct.
