well, he TOLD them how the trick works, the joke was that he thought one of those cards was still the hearts when he had already switched them. There was no actual trick, per se.

At 1:13 David quickly pulls the diamond off screen where he swaps it with another queen he had ready at the top of the deck and then hands it to the subject resulting in the subject having two queens. The double lift is a terrifyingly effective sleight.
