This video is the longest in the 6 part series I'm planning on publishing over the next few weeks. I wanted to set the pace with this first part. The rest will be shorter and thanks for watching!

Can Jin Shin Jyutsu fully cure anxiety/nervous tension in an individual who has had a very traumatic life? Is it enough on its own or does it require psychological work to get to the root of the issue? Thank you! :)

Saif S Hi! Thank you for this question. First, Jin Shin Jyutsu Self Care exercises can definitely help relieve anxiousness when utilized. If the nervous tension is very high then it may be hard to begin the holds or to stay with them long enough to notice the improvements. If this is the case, don’t despair, just apply them as often as possible and they will eventually make a difference. A “cure” implies that one never has anxious feelings and nervousness again, in my definition of the word. And JIn Shin Jyutsu Self Care is not necessarily going to be that. It will help balance your daily stresses and tension and if combined with other work such as psychological counselling or trauma support group it will make them more effective by reducing some of the load. However if you don’t have the benefit of other types of support, you do always have your breath, your fingers and your hands to go to in times of anxiety.

Can I do it for my wife...I mean I will hold my wife's fingers instead of she doing it.. if I tell her to do it herself she often doesn't listen

Hello Ajay. Yes, it’s fine to hold the fingers for your wife...as long as she’s given her permission. It’s a gentle focused practice and if you also focus on your own breathing and relax your shoulders while you hold each finger she will likely find it relaxing for her. You’ll benefit from it too.
