@7:13 "maybe the heat... maybe the solder" ... no you can see there's some dried out amber liquid on the board. Some soup or something got in there and as it dried out it got conductive enough to cause the arcing, which then weakened the solder joint. Thanks for the internal view... I've been thinking about replacing the very noisy fan with a higher quality, quieter one! P.S. why not clean the fan while you're in there?
