I think Craigs ability to bait opponents into traps and misdirect their focus is what makes him so good.

There is a well studied phenomenon in marathon runners, that people who happened to get sick just before a big performance often give a record setting performance. Tim Noakes (Lore of Running) writes about this in his seminal book.
It's been observed multiple times, the logic is that if you get appendicitis the week before an event and are bedridden and have an unsuspected lapse in training, you are getting the mandatory rest that most athletes do not get, ie, EVERYBODY IS OVERTRAINING most of the time.
This is besides the psychological aspect of going in without extra stress and cortisol dump.

I was a white belt and only went to share time with my son.
Only I have great hips and unusually strength endurance.
I caught a black belt off guard and got him into a guillotine right off the rip. Technique was not great, but with my strength I could just push his jaw in.
I am no superstar and knew I did something out of character and caught him.
I let it go and we continued to roll and I he would point out my mistakes and placed my limbs where they would not be in threat or just worked on my weaknesses and for him to work on dealing with a much bigger, stronger opponent.
I was that guy, the guy you test yourself with to see how good your BJJ was in real life situations.
I tell, this because I never tried to hurt anyone or be rough. On top of that we had a well rounded fighter that liked to fight and you wanted to be an ass, he roll with you and put you in your place.

To add to this, don’t leg lock people unless they agree to it.
Most people in local gyms this is something they do to learn and have real jobs and families to support.
I say this to, like the one dude I mentioned, he lived martial arts and was like a high level Mutai and other forms so he was an enforcer.
Myself I got caught in a triangle and a bar and dude got cocky and I picked him up like a kid and about power bombed him and the instructor saw what was happening.

For some people in Eastern Europe, wrestling and BJJ is their whole life. They would rather tap Craig in a one-off than win ADCC, but Craig rolls with the best guys every other day. You will never get the best of him as an amateur, and instead of leaving with knowledge, you leave with a destroyed knee that will never feel the same again. These people have it coming,

You say it's guys coming to kill you but like every gym I've been to like people want to win doesn't matter if you're famous or you're not famous I think just like with any competitive sport kickboxing, boxing that sparring goes way harder than it should every time You always ask for a light roll and next thing you know you're going 100% cuz that guy ramped up or just doesn't understand what light role means😂😂

It was a fun event but to grow the sport I think it should’ve been taken more seriously. It felt like a ADCC/Gordon Ryan troll event. I don’t think it made any money so I don’t know how sustainable it is. It might’ve been a way to get competitors that normally get bronze and silver at ADCC to get paid and can now fund competing in ADCC in 2026

I think attacking Trump is ridiculous. It’s obvious that he’s not a fundementalist and that he doesn’t live the fundamentalist lifestyle and that’s a good thing. He believes in the good, and if he calls that God- so what? We need common sense and apparently honest business sense (the Biden/Harris Democrats have none).
