Yeah I kinda wish it had the original front grill but I still love it, but hands down the best birthday gift I’ve ever gotten lol But yeah, definitely super happy the previous owner kept it in good shape even just sitting for 10+ years, I definitely appreciate their taste in the mods though
I had one of these at 15; my second car but this one actually drove, cost me $25. V8, 2 bbl, automatic. The thing was a rocket ship. Had it until Dad blew up his 57 Plymouth motor and borrowed mine for a grocery run. Blew the hood up at a speed so fast that it wrapped like tin foil over the window and roof. No idea how fast he was going, the man had a lead foot and the speedo did not work above 40 mph. But he did lock up all 4 wheels and put down over 150 feet of rubber getting her stopped. This thing would have been a great moonshine runner but the lack of a hood was like a red flag for our area police, so I couldn't drive it anymore except through the bush trails and our sideroad to get to work at a neighboring farm.
Didn’t know that about the dash, thank you for the heads up! I was told the car was a 54’ by the owner and then told 56’ later on. At this point, 55 also sounds right 😂🤙
Nice, I enjoy learning all the small details to the history of these models. I know all of these little kinds of things with BMW’s & Honda’s, this is the first time I’ve been interested in doing anything with an American car so it’s all kind of new to me now lol
Great find, be interesting to see which way you go, I have a few suggestions to get you're brain clicking. Rat Rod her. You could use that possum skull as a hood ornament. Also consider going "Gasser" with her. You could use the 60' Ford Divco milk truck chassis parts for that, like the front axle. What ever you do, don't mess with the paint, she's got perfect "Patina"
😂😂 Mannn, now I wish I had saved the opossum skull, I definitely could have bronze plated that thing to make a perfect hood ornament! This thing honestly would look pretty cool gasser style, I’m still debating paint. I’m going to get the side mouldings on first and see where it goes from there, but I’ve got so many ideas in mind leaning toward ratty & non ratty, only time will tell lol

Thanks man, yeah I love the ratty look a lot but this one’s in too good of shape to pass up restoring. I’ll be going full ratrod with one very similar though, stay tuned for more! 🤙
I really hope that you don't cut corners on this one. Being as nice of shape as this is in, its a cinch to make a fine driver and show rig. Its in a much better condition than you would find in alaska. All that said, it is a shoe in for a 302 and a 8.8 explorer rear end. Your choice of standard or automatic. You are one lucky young man
Oh no worries, whatever direction I choose to go in, I definitely won’t be cutting any corners. I plan to hold onto this for a while so it will get the proper care it deserves. I did recently get in contact with the original owner/builder who modified it back in 1994, As a respect to his original vision I will be keeping the Mild Custom front end & will be giving it a nice proper paint job, But will be adding the 56 side moulding with the original chrome trim back to the car. I started the mock-up of the exterior paint on my iPad & so far the ideas are all looking very nice, just time to make them a reality now. I promise it’ll be worth hitting that SUBSCRIBE button 🤙
Nice, I love these 2 door models. Very cool, the parts are definitely a bit of a pain to find. Trying to find some decent side mouldings at a realistic price for a 2 door has been fairly challenging for me
Hey bring your trailer and come and get my car it’s been in our storage lot for five years tires went bad but it was a good engine and tranny it was a good car electric front seat most of the stuff can go to your car then an engine and tranny would go in your car as a smooth running car
Hey I'm in PA, I have a very good 272 and 3 spd out of a 55 Ford if you would be interested , tune up and oil change it would be fine , let me know , I don't need it
you said it's a 54 but your blurb says 56 - well I used to see them new when I was 8 yrs old. Those tail lights and the slight fins say 1956 Ford Fairlane. Are you gonna do some resto-mod shit? or restore it with the appropriate engine?
I’ve thought it was a 56 the whole time but the person who gave it to me had it listed as a 54. Now everyone in the comments are saying 55 because of the dash. I’m not 100% sure it’s the original dash, however I do think it might be based on the interior paint fade colors matching up, but I’ll find out for sure what year in a couple days. I’m just looking to build a fun cruise night car with this one, the previous owner already modified the front end so much that I’m not worried about going fully original for the engine, currently I’ve got a 292 Y-Block engine from an old Thunderbird that seems to be the current direction unless I find something better. Although I am keeping an eye out for another one of these (55 or 56) to do a fully original restoration with.
It’s a 1955. The 55 Fairlane have the stainless moulding on the top of the door next to where the door window glass is. This trim is not there on a 1956.(nice wheels)
Yeah it’s a 1955 Customline, the original owner who started the project back in 97’ found me thanks to these videos and gave me the full scoop. The car is now body swapped onto a BMW e39 and is currently awaiting its final stages of paint, check out some of my latest videos for the updated progress, it’s come a very long way 🤙
Yeah, we figured out a whole lot about the car as well as now being in contact with the guy Jeff Moody who originally started the custom fabrication of the front end back in the 90’s. I have a video coming this week with a ton of updates for this car, check out some of the new videos and Subscribe to see where it’s going ✌️

I had one of those about 30 years ago bought it from my father-in-law and you got a great birthday present I wish I still had mine brings back memories I just came out of the homeless situation I'm in a warm spot right now but boy that brings back memories that makes me cry how to think about it
@@joedoc9357 thanks man, it really is the best, I love it. But I’m glad you’ve got a place to rest & keep warm now, I’ve spent a lot of time in the streets, it certainly is a wild place out there sometimes. Hope all continues to go well for you, maybe you can pick another one of these up sometime 🤙
Awesome car nice rat rod or Evan a full rebuild ratty look is better I think thanks for sharing 👍
IT`S a 55 👍👍
Thank you!
The ford has a 1955 dash in it. At the moment I’m restoring 1955 ford fairlane.
Thank you. Is the one you’re working on also a 2door?
@@JerseyArtform yes it’s a 2 door post. I’m doing a complete restoration on the ford. I’m staring to reassemble it. Good parts are very hard to find.
Nice, I love these 2 door models. Very cool, the parts are definitely a bit of a pain to find. Trying to find some decent side mouldings at a realistic price for a 2 door has been fairly challenging for me
@@JerseyArtform there’s parts on eBay. They can be a little pricey. The parts I buy off of eBay come out of Canada. I’m changing my 55 to 12 volts.
Hey bring your trailer and come and get my car it’s been in our storage lot for five years tires went bad but it was a good engine and tranny it was a good car electric front seat most of the stuff can go to your car then an engine and tranny would go in your car as a smooth running car
I can’t figure out how to send a message on here, but I’m definitely interested!
Hey I'm in PA, I have a very good 272 and 3 spd out of a 55 Ford if you would be interested , tune up and oil change it would be fine , let me know , I don't need it
Thank you but I actually picked up a thunderbird 292 swap for it already, got it free with a 1960 Ford Divco milk truck chassis
Look to be a 1955 ford crestliner
We were all confused about it as well, it’s a 56 for sure though. Had to run the vins to figure it out
you said it's a 54 but your blurb says 56 - well I used to see them new when I was 8 yrs old.
Those were called a shoebox back in the day
I love it, always been a sneaker fiend too lol
It’s a 1955. The 55 Fairlane have the stainless moulding on the top of the door next to where the door window glass is. This trim is not there on a 1956.(nice wheels)
Yeah it’s a 1955 Customline, the original owner who started the project back in 97’ found me thanks to these videos and gave me the full scoop. The car is now body swapped onto a BMW e39 and is currently awaiting its final stages of paint, check out some of my latest videos for the updated progress, it’s come a very long way 🤙
It's a 1955 the dash is different in a 56 I have a 56 two-door sedan
Love the car but stop shaking the camera ,!
🤣🤠 thank you! I’m hoping to upgrade to some better filming gear soon, hopefully get something to eliminate some of my shakyness while filming lol
It's a 1955
Yeah, we figured out a whole lot about the car as well as now being in contact with the guy Jeff Moody who originally started the custom fabrication of the front end back in the 90’s. I have a video coming this week with a ton of updates for this car, check out some of the new videos and Subscribe to see where it’s going ✌️
Damn Hollywood sucks
The car I’m offering to give you would be a perfect engine and tranny donor for that car I think it’s a 1996 mercury marquis
Still very interested if anything 🤙
