Nice one brother! I know the milimeshi's are pretty plain, BUT they sure kick butt in taste. They use a special black sugar that is manufactured in Okinawa to add a unique flavour to this braised dish. I'll try and find you the recipe and if you can get ahold of the black sugar candies ( Easier to find than the sugar ) you can use them to make the rafute. Cheers buddy! Meal is cool Bro. Nola Joe, awesome dude. I would love to find, Japanese ration, to show off, old military relic here. The rifle is not much, sentimental value preceeds actual cost of said rifle. That little yellow packet of Chiclets, Do you remember what ration that came from?
It was in the same MCI that the Marlboro Reds you see in the background came from. So pre 1975. I opened that one before filming reviews and I believe the year on that one was maybe 1970.

Japanese food in general , has fewer vegitables than , say Chinese , which typically has a lot . Japanese seems to be more specialized .

It looks like a heaven in your mouth. I had a similiar Korean ration and it tasted very good. It's a pity that it's so difficult to get rations from Indonesia and Malaysia-they offer a restaurant level of lavors
