Just a quick Thank You! I appreciate these videos, BIG TIME. I have learned a great deal through your channel about crafting and maintaining my own unique sound. Keep it coming. Brain sponge is ready.
Hi DIY guitar pedals, I have a question. I bought an MXR Distortion plus but there is a huge volume drop when I turn it on. To get to the same volume as the dry signal, the volume has to be put to 100%. Ive never really done anything like this, do you know what I would have to make the volume louder so I could have more volume?
I want to get into building pedals, though I don't know what parts to buy. I was thinking of buying a lot of different components in bulk, but I don't know what parts to buy. Do you have any suggestions?
Well, that's a tough one. You usually want to have what is needed for the pedal you are designing. I mean a bulk resistor kit is probably a good thing to start out with. Stuff that ranges from like 100 ohms up to 1M will usually cover you on a lot. Capacitors are kind of hit an miss. 100nF, 10nF, and 1nF are ones to keep in stock for film caps. I also use a lot of 47pF ceramic caps and 1uF, 10uF, 47uF, and 100uF electrolytic caps. Diodes, 1N4001's and 1N4148's will cover a lot. Transistors, 2N3904's and 2N5088's will get you far, and for op-amps, TL072s are used a lot, as well as the JRC4558 and LM741. For Pots, they are all over the place. I use a lot of B100K's, A100K's, and B1M's, but those are usually spiced to the effect design. But yeah, I am not sure if there is exactly "one kit to rule them all" as far as guitar pedals go.

Just ordered the 10min buffer and Vulcan drive! Super stoked man!
You go Erik, who knew you were a bass man!!!! Paul and Erik are the best!!!
Would love to see ideas on how to add a preamp w/EQ and an effects loop to this little amp. Or maybe a way to boost it to 14W 🙂
Just add my volts
But that chip you can't push them to hard it will just over heat
But 15 volts would be fine easy
It would be wicked with a Mooer Micro Preamp pedal or two.
Great speaker cab
I have to same one
So good
Yeah, it was my Birthday present last year from my wife. Best cabinet I've ever had.
V30's are quite bassy and VERY Loud.
Fire breathing monster!
Can these be used to run di into a board?
To clarify things: The speakers are 16 ohms each and operated in parallel (mono mode), right?
That is correct
Homie that dis was powerful

I would look at changing the gain resistors at the op amp.

Do you live near Lake Macquarie? I have that in my mind for some reason
You should put a box around that TH-cam compression.
davie504 would like that
