The lady auctioneer was a class act 👌🏻
Another amazing show ...a masterpiece 👍
So excited to watch this!
It’s disappointing the artwork being auctioned is not shown during the auction. At least in the lower corner like Sotheby’s.
Sotheby's > Christie's
My thanks, appreciation and respect.. I wish you eternal happiness, health and peace.. success in your work. Greetings.
Lovely crane statues. I really liked them, but I thought the estimate was correct.
It's a little disconcerting when a desk lamp sells for more than what my house is worth. Lo
Hahahahahahahahahahahahah i had to laugh here
Exactly!!
😢Anny, Where you come back . we miss you😢...❤❤❤❤
Gordon & Ann Getty had the material life but their personal lives were a mess. We know now Gordon had a second family for 14 years that produced three daughters out of wedlock. No amount of material items would give me peace of mind if I was Ann Getty.
I don't even know where you can find the TIME for 2 families, let alone the emotional investment.
@@OrontesRM I guess Ol' Gordon is a magician. A rich magician at that.
Thank You
59:51 Vaslav Nijinsky (Wacław Niżyński) was not Belarusian. He was Polish just like his parents.
I hope we will be seeing a lot more of these important works on limited public display.
We will as the baby-boomer generation passes on.
아주 아릉답운 창의적인 작퓸 입니다~~
I will always be a top grade bidder
작퓸이 아주창의적이고 예숤 입니다~~
What I don’t get is that Gordon had all of this and yet still had a secret family not far away…..who has time for that? Only someone with time on their hands. And he’s lost two sons….excess seems to be a bad thing….
Anne Getty was a tour de force. Too bad her children only focus on $$$s and no philanthropy
the woman auctioneer is much more professional and entertaining than the stressed-out man who has the vibe of someone waiting to get his teeth pulled.
I was thinking the exact opposite.
I agree
Can you well being in am Museum at home ?
Why start so low?
They start at the reserve price
Pendant les enchères dommage de montrer les intermédiaires et pas les oeuvres.
For those of use that can't afford the prices, yes it would be nice, but of course, the bidders have the catalog or know the works their bidding on very well.
I just bought a brand new perlitti moka coffee pot from a charity shop for £6 it's worth £35.
Well done. No need to work again for a fortnight.
I miss the open chat dialog. Especially when there is an educated mod explaining things. Thankyou Christies..showing the art longer for an inspiring artist could be an innovative feature. Getty= filthy rich.. its nauseating. And fascinating all at once..
Are those the same Gettys who are at the top of the California organized crime hierarchy?
They are the Getty's of Getty Oil that negotiated with the Saudi's in the early 1900s for the right to 1/2 of Saudi Arabia's oil production. This they sold, in the early 1980s, to Chevron. The other half went to the Rockefeller's Standard Oil.
the artwork deserved every penny it got. But the textiles and mantels and linens fetched way too much. The auction did so well with so many good quality knick knacks it seems. I totally did not understand her style-it was so mixed
They specialize in scams. They took my artwork and sold it, and I didn't get anything. They even closed my account.
The auctioneer seemed a little stressed.
voila on peuxxxxxxxxxxxxxx dire tout ce con veux sur youtubeeeeeeeee je vais porter pleinte
This type of opulence is really obscene. For the Gettys and other people to value tchotchkes more than anything else is really a turn off. In the end all these material items at auction don’t mean a thing. It’s just stuff. The Getty house looked like it was a hoarder’s house with item after item everywhere.
I think it’s a difference in aesthetics. She was very obviously a maximalist in a world that is now very minimal..
I don’t think it’s obscene, but it is very remarkable. The taste and knowledge of history and art is truly at a museum level. The only tragedy or crime is that all the items and the house were not kept together. This house should be a landmark and museum open to the public.
@@KindellArmstrong San Francisco used to be a desirable city to visit. It's not safe anymore to visit due to crime, drugs & homelessness.
@@elenageorge378 how exactly does drugs or crime have to do with the decore of this home??
@@KindellArmstrong If the house If If If the Getty house had been open to tour they wouldn't get many tourists in cuz San Francisco is a complete dump now. Bet your not American & don't know that city.
Obscene for good.
That is not just tchotchkes. That is indicator of status so the items mean a thing.
Hoarder's is hoarder's. Hoarder's must be carefully guarded, otherwise the items (decorative or functional) will not mean a thing.
I will visit San-Francisco, I promise.
So sorry to hear they are bankrupt.... Oh well.. U live n learn
Who?
