It's slow. The mustang has an excuse as it's still fast with the v6, but this weighs more and has more power. 3700ibs and 292bp is kinda unacceptable imo
I own a 2015 Base Dodge Challenger SXT and I love it. Granted it has a 3.6 engine, but it is all this 55 year old needs. The gas mileage is great and the ride is super smooth. The lower lumbar support is great for those of us with lower back issues. If, you want a really nice looking car, that is really peepy, you can't go wrong with this car. If, you want loads of power, speed, and really high insurance rates, bump up to a more sporty version. However, this version, looks just as nice has great fuel economy and the insurance is fairly priced for a new car. I will not make payments on a car, so I paid cash for mine, well a cashier's check.
rockbay79 I just bought the '15 SXT and I'm absolutely thrilled by it. The stares and praise you get from people is awesome. It's such an amazing, eye turning car
Ah yes...with age comes wisdom (and unfortunately sometimes, lower back pain)...we are about the same age so I can also appreciate lumbar support, good insurance rates, being able to pay cash for a new or almost new vehicle...all good things. Personally, I would buy the 5.7 liter Hemi car, just as I would buy a Mustang GT instead of the V6 models, a V8 Camaro of some kind...it’s just a matter of personal preference. For example, I can’t see buying something like a Mini Cooper or a Mazda Miata unless it has a manual gearbox. For me it just defeats the purpose. However, in this country, most Miatas and Mini Coopers are purchased with automatic gearboxes. There’s no right or wrong here. It’s all a matter of personal preference, how will one use the vehicle, affordability, how much one cares about resale value, depreciation, performance, environmental awareness...whatever is important to you as the owner and user of that vehicle. Is 305 hp enough for “daily street use”? For sure. Is it hard to tell a V6 Challenger from a V8 Challenger as it drives by? Some people can tell right away. I need to look at it a bit before I can tell. Then there’s that saying about ...”it’s more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car fast”...that still holds true. You will probably be able to drive your V6 Challenger at 7/10s lots of the time, even on public roads. A 5.7 or 6.2 liter Hemi V8 of the same model will probably not ever see more than 3/10s full throttle, unless you are doing weekend track days, or going to your local drag strip. On a daily basis you will get “more fun” out of the less powerful car. I had a 2010 Mini Cooper with a 6 speed manual box and around 120 hp, I think, as my daily for a while and... that was the car I enjoyed the most out of all the cars I had. For daily use that is. More fun to drive daily, on public roads than even my 1968 Pontiac GTO 400 or the 1969 327 RS Camaro or the 1984 Mustang 5.0 or the 1977 Pontiac Trans Am, screaming chicken and all, that I’ve owned through the years. Nothing wrong with a 305 hp V6 Challenger...it’s a matter of personal preference. 🤔🇨🇺🇺🇸
Good luck...i wish i was off child support but oh well. I still bought me one a 2018 Black top edition Challenger v6 with only 4 thousand miles on it. I love it
I had a SXT Challenger good on gas ect.But old school and need some more power so went with the RT.But the V6 is still great cause if you look back the 340 in the 70's stock was only pushing out 290hp when the v6 today is pushing 307hp.
I was thinking about getting one. The used ones have dropped in price significantly for a decent amount of miles on the clock. You get a lot of features for the price.
I love my challenger I got in 2019. It looks great rides great handles good for its size. The main selling point is the overall feel while sitting and driving it. It does not look cheap in any way or form. It’s a beautiful car with a very good longevity with minimal problems. It gets out of its own way especially in sport mode. It’s a great cruising car but begs you to kick it in the ass. The mustang and Camaro don’t compare in quality or feel. I drove both before buying the challenger. They were quicker overall but felt cheap in a lot of ways especially the Camaro. So hands down as a everyday driver with looks and balls Ford and Chevy can’t touch it for the price.
Best Purchase My Brother Got One Its Super Comfortable , Fast , and it has a lot of space in the front and in the back its amazing ! Also 0-60 time is 6.4 and has done 6.1 with 93 gas though
I loved my v6. Did some simple mods to get it more to where I felt it fit my needs. Eventually I upgraded to the RT which looks a lot like this sxt plus. I love the RT but my sxt will always hold a place in my heart. Great vid. Sad I'm only seeing this years after the initial post
John Luis You can do a full second better than that. Having a full gas tank really has an negative effect on your time. Also you must have it in Sport Mode. Or you won't get optimum shift points.
Title of video is wrong. This video shows SXT Plus not SXT, which is important for those like me who are just looking for the simple base model. The simple SXT has a smaller touch screen, smaller wheels and simple paint not tri-colora mong many other differences
What a sweet car, even in base model form. I rented a 2013 model SXT base model in St. Louis last year, can't wait to rent a 2015 model in San Antonio this coming summer (:
I want one of these cars man. I plan to eventually turn it into a diesel with the ecodiesel v6. Diesel muscle cars are the future, better for the environment, more power per gallon than gasoline and it can get over 50 mpg. (I've done the calculations myself on the fuel economy as well.)
Can you do a regular SXT review, not the plus model. Mostly interested your opinion of cloth seat quality, and if you could actually do a driving one to let us know about how the V6 performs. That would be awesome. Thanks!
Camerons Car Reviews, you forgot to mention that this car has an 8-Speed Automatic Transmission with Manual Shift Ability. Can be shift also with Paddles mounted the steering wheel. Plus for Upshifts & Minus for Downshifts.
LMAO i found this so funny considering here in the USA those cars are sought after. Plus, you guys have mercedes taxi's and stuff much better than a ford crown victoria unless you pick an uber.
The inner two lights, are they still just for turn signals, and now just the outer perimeter of them light up, not the center, since it's LED now, and the low and high beam is a dual filament bulb on the outer two light fixtures like before? Seems like they could have made the high beams be the inner two light fixtures now.
Except for two transmission speed sensors conveniently going out at home, the 3 Chrysler products we have had have been great. Everything is shit in some way, but right now, Ford is the king of transmission and turbo problems.
Out of all the Challenger models which one will have the most comfortable ride? I don't want a stiff riding suspension that will beat me up on these not so perfect roads. I like handling but not at the expense of comfort. Power I do like but without that bumpy suspension where you feel every bump on the road. Which options to get or not get? Standard size tires? base suspension?
LOL You need to Google 1971 Challenger, then look at 'images'. That front end with the chrome split grille is a dead ringer. Having said that, word around the campfire is, the 'Cuda is returning!
7.5 Second 0-60? LOL. I've run a 5.9 Second time and haven't even upgraded anything yet. You could only manage a time like that if your running on a crappy surface with poor grip, bad weather conditions, a couple passengers and a full gas tank.
+Winston Basset I have a 2011 SE auto and I've only managed a 6.4 but still much faster than this video's suggested 7.5. maybe with full tank, half bald tires, two big people, and a heavy ass jack with a trunk full of groceries.
The 5.7 (RT) is $4,950 more per dodge web site, plus it comes with manual while 6 cylinder has auto standard. The auto is $1,400 more on RT. In my area (southeast) the RT does not get the current $1,000 rebate. That totals $7,350. It also uses more gas and insurance is higher. I wanted RT but am getting the six.
Because the BASE R/T is cheaper but has very few options except the 5.7.V8 The SXT PLUS comes with many options and is only about 1 second slower 0-60.
Over 300HP and up to 30MPG. Not bad if you ask me.
Is it just me, or does this car fuckin' ROCK?
bareknuckles2u it also rolls. Like reeally slowly.
+ChevyCamaroIsBetter lol
+3rdGenMafia Bullshit! the 3.6 shit's n gits. My 2015 Rally edition Charger will do 0-6 in 6.0 seconds.
+ChevyCamaroIsBetter it's not really "slow" as you put it compared to most cars out there i have the 3.6 it it still pts out a good 300hp
+ChevyCamaroIsBetter it's not really "slow" as you put it compared to most cars out there i have the 3.6 it it still pts out a good 300hp
i dont get why people hate on the v6 lol saves money on both gas and insurance
It's slow. The mustang has an excuse as it's still fast with the v6, but this weighs more and has more power. 3700ibs and 292bp is kinda unacceptable imo
+AE86 of Mt. Akina guess it depends on the person I love my v6 but it has shitty gas mileage so The V8 would only be worse
BorealNeal The v6 is not a bad car, but it's kinda slow compared to the competition.
+AE86 of Mt. Akina yea the charger does feel heavy and chunky at times. I just want a BRZ lol
yeah v6 engine's are good inline 4 engines are good too

@Sidney Celeste Yes, sir. In fact, last year I bought a black Scat Pack Widebody. I love it!
that's a great car! I love both the v6 and v8's version of the Dodge Challenger! looking forward to getting the Hellcat V8.

Zohaib Abbasi actually that’s trim would be the SE.... SXT plus has more cosmetic upgrades & slightly more power
My SXT has most of those upgrades so you just have to see which one fits your needs
20 bucks for whoever counts how many times he says "coming" lmao

it does look awful I'm with you on that!

great review!
I would suggest doing your commentary in post production or get a wind screen.
iS THE SXT V6 Challenger the most reliable and trouble free over the other models?
Reliability & dodge don't go together...
ISN'T THERE ONE MODEL OF THE CHALLENGER HAS THE LEAST AMOUNT OF PROBLEMS?
