Yep, the players just do not move and when you pass the ball they are stuck waiting for the ball to arrive, giving so much time for the defenders to come press
Spot on they are stuck in mud, and on the rare occasion they do make an intelligent run you either can’t pass there because of the stupid OP press or they happen to be offside. Every rebound is a goal, every near post shot is a goal, every cutback is a goal but it’s impossible to defend it for 90 mins every game. Your AI will make a mistake or a pass won’t go where you aimed it and then the opposition is literally clean through on goal. Also please tell me how most attackers win the ball more than a CDM or CB. They’ve got like 60 DEF max and yet they steal the ball off your back line on high pressure like it’s nothing so dumb
imagine when you play with 40 ping and your opponent has 15. EVEN LESS REACTION TIME FOR YOU TO RECEIVE THE BALL
But you're attackers are also stuck in the mud. IRL if they were pressing like that a fast player would easily leave them for dust. There's this insane delay with players that turns them into Muppets. Bring back the gameplay where you could actually do 1 on 1's

For reference i play a full Bayern munich team which in real life likes to play with a lot of posession. I can't. Ai is always afk, no intelligent runs and don't get me started how hard it is to defend😑
the best way to attack in the game is to just give your oppoent the ball in his box and hope your 90+ pace forwards instantly steal the ball back off their passes. You cant find me a better defender then Mbappe, Ansu Fati, or Darwin Nunez

Such a shame. Also, if you try to invite pressure on yourself to allow your opponent to over commit and create spaces for you, your players will crumble under pressure and WILL force a mistake that leads to a counter attack.
I had this exact same idea, I thought I would create a De Zerbi type tactic but it's only a matter of time before you lose the ball and they are on the counter.

@@InceptionFC understanding this isn’t what you want to see but if you cross from rb to Lb pass it to your cb and your cdm will be open move to the left and your cam will either drop back or make a run towards you so if you want your cam to stay up you have wingers on comeback, cut inside, come short
@@mrArod376 There are always "counters" to broken mechanics. What you described, is not football, is a combo from a Street Fighter game "right-left-down-up-up"

the cut backs, rb dribbling, high press, 71 depth is unplayable, also since they’ve lost the fifa title I feel like they’ve got no limits, the scripting this year is so visible you can really feel when the opposition are going to score

And the kick off with rb dribbbling this year omg I swear it’s like half my games it’s either me or the other guy or both of us just scoring back to back kickoff goals at least once every match

This FC 24 gameplay is giving me a migraine because of the amount of unrealistic passing I have to do to try to get away from these pressure tactics. Also, I'm baffled why the players aren't getting tired from all the running they are doing in the first place.

100%. It’s made even worse by the insanity that if they have a pressure tactic on, my players’ ability to pass a long ball is aggressively nerfed. They’ll just drop from mid-air in the middle of the field sometimes. Insane
I find myself manually triggering runs with L1 this year more than I have ever done it in any previous years. Attacking AI is absolutely shocking in this game I can't play against the 71 depth and the players that literally just run down the line and do a cut back.. With the assisted passing this year it's almost impossible to defend a cut back pass even if you're blocking a passing lane the game will change the direction of the pass to a player that's not marked (even if he's on the edge of the box) and it's an easy goal for the opponent. Not a great experience at all I feel your frustration 1000%

I first noticed this in a legendary SB game and it actually made me almost delete the game. The pressure tactic on the max chem teams in squad battles in the higher difficulties with the sliders makes the game IMPOSSIBLE to play. Players sitting in one spot marked ALL game. This shit has to get fixed

It is truly awful. I used to pride myself on only playing forward, making passing plays and not redundantly running down the line. But it's Impossible this year. Every game I join I know what will happen.. I know the sewage style of play that is coming but I cannot do anything. I am honestly happy kurt is banned.. he would've suffered an aneurysm this year for sure.....

EA doesn't need to understand anything. They understand well enough and that's why the game is that way. It's working as intended. Go watch : "Let's go whaling" you'll understand why all their games suffer the same fate. I'll never forget that line " it's not good to have a game based on skills".

I used to be able to break these type of players by fast passing around their players, but now passing feels really inconsistent. In order to make a consistent pass you have to control the ball and then pass, but by the time the player controls the ball, the passing option is already marked.
Yup, exactly! Inconsistent passing and players Turing like a bus make it impossible to play against pressure tactics. Maybe if attacking AI was also enhanced but, no, players just stand and don’t get open.

Small, fast, strong, nimble and agile midfielders are the way to go imo.
This sums up my gameplay day in day out. Been playing ultimate team for just a year and constantly feel not good enough as of this kind of tactics

100%, this is absolutely spot on. You either have to sit like a sweat and pass round your back line for 80% of the game or force a super hopeful pass because youre literally bored of the game. I dont get how the super sweats (because all of us have to be sweaty somewhat in this game or you're chalked) play game after game knocking it round their defence. Its literally a game of who gets bored first the higher up in divisions you go. FUT Champs qualies the only time I get to enjoy the game somewhat.
I don't think there is really any point of playing apart from champs pro clubs and career mode

I just lose game after game, my grind towards upper divisions is a nightmare... and I am really frustrated becuase of it. Every player in the center isn't moving into any space, just accepting that they are marked in the press.
Pressure tactics have been a problem in all of the last FIFAs and they were never able to do anything against it other than increasing the stamina drain.
The defensive AI is perfect in man marking across the whole field, while the offensive AI doesn't do anything.
Anything above Div3 you can only score by switching the play constantly to somehow break the press... the midfield is so congested that you can't even play a pass in there. You just try to skip the whole midfield by switching and runing down the line
Yep, this is exactly the issue. You have no possibility for build up play. Only solution is run as fast as possible to the other side and try to keep it there. And don't pass. Just run as much as possible as an idiot

I always used the RB feature, but this year it also feels somewhat broken - either slow reaction or not really working at times

I was playing the other night on FUT Champions and observed the same thing, I was thinking that maybe this is some tactic chosen by that specific player but no. THIS IS EA FC 24 . Not sure what your tactics are on but for me Long Ball chance build up with Possession chance creation helped a little but against this. So in the case of striker (for you Benzema, he will make that run).
It does mean though you will have to make a longer pass to break the press which is riskier and you can get in a scenario where you may get trapped at the back if you don't make that pass. There still needs to be a greater penalty for having pressure tactic on for that long.. either that or make the attackers who are marking your defenders be more mistake prone.

I find it insanely refreshing that I don’t have to play against people that would rather keep the ball than take a risk to move the ball forward.

You have to create a game with one cb pushing forward and create a new station to play the ball to and then the game opens up and you are in attacking position easily against this pressure tactic. Cb go forward is the command on tactics. İt breaks the pressure by creating a new station to pass the ball to in the misdfield then and you can attack after he receives the ball in the midfield area

You are so right, bro. I've resorted to blasting the ball to my opponents goalie just to give them the ball so I could use the same pressure 71 depth tactics to counter. I do it all game.... It's gross and disgusting way of playing. No one attacks, everyone is pressured, and my ai is useless. I was wondering why I kept getting countered the first few days of EA FC 24. Once I figured it out, I was FORCED to play high depth pressure and counter all game. It's dumb.
