I’m confused too! I just spoke with my wonderful surgeon and she said progesterone is what will make me moody. I’m taking oral estradiol/ had a hysterectomy. Bought progesterone cream based on some Utube advice but now I don’t know what to do!

Wow. I really enjoyed your spirit in sharing with us as I came here to find out if I need progesterone after hysterectomy. I have had these symptoms, and when I was perimenopausal, progesterone helped me 100% - I didn't even notice menopausal symptoms besides the lack of menstrual flow, so I forgot to use it after that. Now, I'm a person who doesn't earn enough money to go to doctors, and pray for my solutions, so I bless you for your generosity in giving sound advice. I will definitely sign up for your newsletter &; >

I had a hysterectomy (still have my ovaries) when I was 31, now am 55. Insomnia is a huge issue for me. I tried an over the counter progesterone cream, it made me feel horrible, did nothing for my insomnia, so I quit using it. My blood test showed progesterone was low, the others within “normal” limits. Gaining weight, losing muscle tone, having hot flashes, and night sweats as well. And very fatigued of course.
My GP is not of any help, she has told me she really doesn’t know about creams, just synthetic hormone replacement, which I do not want due to high risk health issues in my family history. Trying to find someone in my healthcare network to help to no avail at this point.

i had a hysterectomy in 1989 due to prolonged periods, and a past history of endometriosis and the loss of an ovary. Fast forward 30 years (2019) and my gyn prescribes 200mg daily progesterone for insomnia. My understanding is that is the maximum dosage. Is this progesterone addressing any other low hormone issues I might have? I feel great, no more anxiety, and I sleep soundly. Should I seek further advice on this? Thanks!

What is the mg of Progesterone you recommended?.. I get horrible side effects with Progesterone and I wonder if it’s because the dosage is to high. Most hormone doctors want women to take 100 to 200 mg everyday

I’ve been on 400 mg of progesterone along with estrogen and testosterone for a long time. Recently, I had a hysterectomy complete and dropped the dose to 200 mg. Now I’m wondering if I need it at all and am just guessing at the dose. My doctor is SOOOOOOO afraid to commit one way or the other for fear 😨 f being wrong or getting sued. I don’t know what to do.

What range should progesterone levels be after a complete hysterectomy?

Hello, I know you can’t give personal medical advice to individuals but if a person has had a full hysterectomy, overlies and cervix removed, would they take Utrogestan every day or for 14 days and then break for 14? Thank you for this informative video!

Hello, your question was already posted one year ago, but I don’t see any answers till date. I am in the same situation as you, trying to find out if we should be on a cyclic routine with progesterone too. My doc suggested Utrogestan daily, but I’ve recently heard a menopause doc say if doing so, it would block the benefits of the estrogen 😮 sooo.. And I started to take Utrogesran 100 orally and became totally groggy after 2 days!! Conclusion: looking for an answer on the cyclic part before jumping back into it. Please, if you found the anwer, could you give me a tip where to look or what to do? Much appreciated!! Thanks 🙏🏻

I had a full hysterectomy at 42, went on HRT immediately. I’m 61 now & debating adding in progesterone …. So many conflicting health advice pro/con for progesterone

Progesterone has so many benefits beyond uterine protection! Bone, nerve, brain health 😁

I’m in the same boat… hysterectomy was two months ago… Just took a utrogestan. No-one told me to stop after my hysterectomy but I feel it’s an oversight and I stopped myself because I was previously told it wasn’t needed after a hysterectomy. Worried if I mention it, my GP might remove it from my repeat medications as for now I can still request it.

Hi. I had a hysterectomy at 42 that put me in menopause. I am on the estradiol patch but am gaining weight. What amount if progesterone cream would you recommend or is it trial and error?

Hello, I just started hrt a few weeks ago. I decided to take transdermal hormone, for estrogens I am using the patch and for progesterone I decided to use the vaginal suppositories. and the reason for this, is that bioidentical hormone has less side effects than the synthetic. The vaginal progesterone will protect your uterus and the fear for breast cancer is minimal because this way will focus more in the uterus without being a risk for the breast. I still think testosterone will be prescribed too together with the estrogens and progesterone. I am trying to buy online the cream for testosterone but it has been hard to find a provider. I will have to ask my doctor for a prescription so I can get it, but with this personal information, I think all women should be given the information and the option to be on hrt. Our lives are miserable when we enter the age of menopause and doctors do not help too much about this. they see as normal in our lives, yes it can still be normal but does not mean with have to stop to have a life.

Hello, did you manage to get testosterone? My GP prescribes it with my HRT and has continued to prescribe it after my recent hysterectomy. I first had it prescribed by my gynaecologist and she wrote to my doctor who then continued the prescriptions. I’m now in a funk about progesterone as I’m sure I need it despite not having a womb, cervix or ovaries.
