I've seen many kestral videos and I always come back to this one its absolutely perfect in so many ways the 50 fps gives an absolute marvelous look inside the nest, bravo! to the filmmakers may Allah bless you and your families inshalla
It always surprises me how fierce Kestrel chicks are when it come to food. There must have been enough prey for all to eat well as they are intense but not super aggressive in this video. Strong instincts to eat and survive. Beautiful work! Thanks for sharing!
@Shoenheim I never captured the loss of one chick om film ! I have no idea what happened to it ! I am an amateur photographer/video If I knew what happened I would certainly have added thus to the video!
I am 100% new to watching any birds, raptors, etc. I'm in awe, complete awe of your work and you did an outstanding job. Please keep the videos coming. I'm a huge fan!!
Aww welcome to the bird of prey world! I watch nestboxes daily and there's so much to see! Hunting, feeding etc but also siblicide and filicide, it's nature after all and not for the faint of heart.
Theres me (newly and randomly) chasing round the world via youtube taking in these incredible Birds of Prey clips like a Scheme stalking Attenborough/ Im halway to booking up to camp in a frigging Canadian forrest to realise after a month or so and couple hundred clips..The best quality videos on the whole damn net are from where? My wee backyard called Sunny Glasgow lol! Also nice to see Glasgow being shown in glorious sunshine..along with that lovely Summer breeze looked only about 80mph that day? Taps Aff ha. Seriously though a wise old biddy (my Auntie;) told me recently 'Son you should always do something you love for a living..Im like theres only so much you can love selling sweeties Auntie! guys you must be the most fulfilled staff on the planet and Well Done.
In the time 16:40, I noticed that one of the hatchlings that was in the back of the clutch when the mother was feeding them was weak and lethargic to get food. Later on it shows 3 almost full grown birds. Did that little guy pass?
@@Glasgowurbanwildlife I noticed in the beginning there were five eggs in the clutch. Is it possible that one egg never hatched and one of the siblings in the four perished? Because it should have been five chicks in total I am assuming? Wonderful video, I too am new to the bird cam and it has been such a relaxing new found enjoyment. Thank you.
I had a pair of Kestrels nesting in my busted (tornado broken) roof. The apparently hatched and partially raised five chicks. Over the last week I have buried five chicks they on purpose/accidentally kicked out of a two story roost to their deaths. I wish I could afford to fix it, its too small but they still roost. So sad.
Exceptional and exquisite footage, thank you so much for sharing. Common Kestrel getting much rarer here these days with loss of habitat and persecution of birds of prey.so seeing your videos are such a joy.
Beautiful video. Fascinating lives they have. Most of us have no appreciation how much work is involved in raising those beautiful chicks. Thank you for the education! God bless you for sharing this video with us all! ✝️🙏💫❤⚘✝️🙏💫❤⚘✝️🙏💫❤⚘
Good video, but I found some inconsistency. The last part , after "2 more weeks later" shows a different nest. So, looks like you've shown a final of another kestrel family. Correct me, please, if I'm wrong
Wondering if there is a live nestcam for the Famous Scottish Inner-City Kebeb Gull? Or the 'The Flying Rat as known by the locals..Damn near the size of Wild Turkeys these days:P
What still trips me out is the momma birds that throw out the weak bird in the nest. Storks or some type of bird. It's like she played duck such goose and bye bye you go.
yeah so cruel aint it, parent Storck (usually Mama bird?) kinda randomly pick the chick up by its neck and swing it about before being expelled from the nest, always wondered why though?
So far the very BEST QUALITY of a video of this kind!!!
Thankyou soo much!
The way both of them work together for their chicks is AMAZINGG

Well done.

황조롱이 이뻐 죽겠네.
새끼들을 골고루 먹여서 튼튼하게 키우는 것을 보니 기쁘구만.
The male comes in and says “on shit, I've got to get busy to feed my family!!”
@13:38 the chic struggling to keep awake to feed is soo cute 😍

Bird of prey parents aren’t as tolerant of weak young as we are. Thanks for the video! 😃

@@Glasgowurbanwildlife look forward to seeing them!!
I’ve never seen an open design for a kestrel box. Do you not have predators there of the kestrel ? Great with the cameras!
Only problem i get with my boxes is squirrels and sometimes owls!
what happened to the other 2 baby kestrels?
I counted 5 eggs hatched, but in the end I only saw 3 young adult kestrels
May be they didn't survive

5eggs hatched but, could find only 4 in the last scene
how long can a chick survive without drinking water... curious to know
They get their water from the meat they eat! They dont start drinking water until they have left the nest around 6 weeks old
