They are still good and also good on live performances this is very immportand to me Chad's voice sounds like the studio recording but they are not writing good melodies like the good old days.They sound like pop band now !
I know voices are subjective, but I think Chad Kroeger has one of the most amazing voices. He is so underrated for his vocal ability. This is one of my favorite songs.

+Sammy Lane I used to listen to their albums all the time, then the 'modern' nickelback went a bit soppy. Like their singles were so radio friendly. I understand they appeal to more than a rock/heavy metal fan like myself. But in my opinion I feel left out and they are only bothered about record sales and not their fans. I must admit I havnt bought their last 3 albums on the back off their singles. Long live 'old' nickelback

I first heard this song when I watched the Spider-Man movie when I was little...after that day Spider-Man was my favorite hero, and nickelback was my favorite band lol
This song came out at a tough time in US history; 9/11 happened, people were looking for a hero to save them. This song in conjunction with the Spider-Man movie made me believe again.

Only reason I dislike Chad is because he tried saying Stone Sour was just a rip off Nickelback and tried saying Corey Taylor didn't have any charting singles. Other than their constant changes of style of music, (once metal, then rock, now pop) they're overall an okay band.
I dunno honestly. How You Remind definitely stuck around too long and I guess people associated it with them and ripping on Nickelback was "cool".

If you want an example of a singer who can hit a song note for note, as if he's in the studio, take Chad Kroeger. He never fails to deliver a song anything less than perfectly, and that is such a huge compliment. With a song like this, it makes such a difference. Brilliant.
His voice is incredible in several acoustic presentations and shows, I'm impressed, among so many singers I've heard I still think his voice is the best
