@@doristhomas5743 I have neither the desire nor the ability to be a Guard. First off, signs should be on both sides of the box. Secondly, it should be in large letters and on the top of the sign. Thirdly, the Guards have to start imposing the rule for everyone
That woman could have been seriously injured. The horse could have kicked her and not only is she putting her self in danger she put the guard in danger as well.People should learn to not look down on their phones while they're walking.

I blame the guard for not speaking up and not enforcing ithe rules , it says do not touch the horse, you can’t have things run smoothly if one guard try’s to in-force the rules and another lets people break those rules, You have confusion and people will do as they please. This is common sense and someone needs to speak to these guards in command and say enforce the rules period!
*@tammycawman7736* You're absolutely correct Tammy! I used the term 'speaking out of both sides of the mouth' to describe this situation! Yes. no. Yes. no. Well at least there was a police present. People are so determined to touch the horse try a sign on both sides, then if they don't read by George put up a fence !!!
These tourists do not respect the the the signs. They are there for their safety as well as for the safety of the guards and the horses. And the fact that they read the signs and ignore them baffles me.these are grown people what is wrong with them.
Eventually the guards will get extremely tired of this disrespect and will put a fence or some sort of barrier around the area and those who would potentially want to see the horses & guards up close would have to view from a distance all because some fools think it's cool to not follow the rules. Very sad for those who come to experience the Kings Guards only to be cheated out because of ignorant people. It really upsets me when someone is apparently trying to feed the horses or let them lick something off their hands....just as one of the people in this video. Just Leave The Horses Alone!!!
Starting to get real tired of putting this but, putting some sort of fence around the guard box is a danger to the horse and the rider and that's a public footpath, not a part of Horse Guards.
The wrong emphasis on the Horse Notices. Should be, "DON'T TOUCH THE HORSES. Horses may kick or bite". And leave off the "Thank you" note. It is a command, not a request.
I always think "DO NOT" would be more effective than "Don't" but I agree there's no need to thank people for just doing what they should (or refraining from what they should not).
This really pisses me off. Everyone is routing for these guards and horses to get some respect. Then this is what you get, some guards that were given the opportunity to stop this disgusting behavior and they chose to look like fools and disrespect their own country. Just awful. How about adding to the sign must stay 6 feet from the horse, that way all the guard has to say is get back, don't even give them the chance to get close enough to touch them. They can still take pictures from that distance.
The guard was quick to tell the kid to not touch the horse but that heavy set woman was rubbing all over the horse and so was the man in the green shirt. The man even kept looking up at the guard as he stroked the horse but nothing from the guard.
The sign is weak and poorly made. It should be bigger with a graphic. The “DON’T TOUCH THE HORSE” is kind of passive. It should read “Do NOT TOUCH THE HORSE”, or even better, “IT IS FORBIDDEN TO TOUCH THE HORSE”. And there should be zero tolerance for unacceptable behavior. My guess is the sign is more a disclaimer in the event someone gets injured. However, I don’t know what lawsuit laws exist in Britain, but in the US, a person, or entity can still be sued if someone is injured on property or by some action or negligence. The officials in charge have shown poor judgement and did not exercise their due diligence in the performance of their duties by allowing such behavior to continue unchecked. Not to mention the extraordinary disrespect to the guard, the traditions and the Crown itself by reducing the experience to the level of a tourist carnival.
They are watched on camera, he might be retiring soon and just doesn't care. It's a simple "No" to stop people. You can tell who does it and who doesn't. Retiring is all I can figure.
Again, there's a woman who looked as though she was going to try to get through from the backside of the horse, then it appears she see's a camera focused in her direction. She later comes around to the front looking as if though she can try something else to come in contact with the horse. The guard on the horse should have said something to each and every person, adult and child, and enforce it using the force of the horse to stop people from petting, trying to see if the horse will actually will grab onto them, etc. The worst offenders seem to be the Chinese, because rules don't apply to them. They're entitled. Police and guards should enforce every instance when people are trying to touch the horse, trying to see if the horse really will bite, and then putting on an act that they were so violently bitten by the horse. The signs mean nothing if they are not enforced.
