We have talked to them off and on over the week running in to them at track and on the road and Steve's and his wife are super nice and have really enjoyed the week meeting them. It's awesome they get to do this as a family for them as well!

Steve, you guys are getting so good at pulling transmissions, it almost seems like the time lapse would be your normal speed. Keep smiling, keep racing!
10 amps at 1 ohm would cost you 10 volts, and it would dissipate 100 watts. If the draw was 10 amps, he should look for something in the 0.25 to 0.3 ohm range (3 or 4 of the 1 ohm resistors in parallel) but even then the power dissipation would be an issue. There are people that make PWM controllers for engine fans, that would be a better solution.

Great job keeping Sugar Momma on the road! I couldn't make it to any of the Sick Week events but I did see you guys heading South on I-75 while I was heading home just south of the Georgia Florida border.
So glad to see Ms. Val behind the wheel. I'm so sorry that the Wagon is down (for the moment), but beyond happy Steve's unhurt. Maybe next year the whole family will each have their own car at Sick Week. Transmission issues are becoming all too common, unfortunately. Keep up the good work!
Mrs,Morris ,does a very handy job of driving and her burn outs are as good as anyone Props to her ,When you make High Horsepower ,parts breakage becomes a real big problem changing Transmissions every few runs will get old and expensive in a hurry ,How did the Titanium converter hold up ,I haven' t heard
Absolutely no disrespect! I would try to get Jackstand Jimmy to drive my car. He reminds me of Daddy Dave. Very solid racer with a good feel of what the car is going to do.
I have the same problem with Fans the motors take the voltage just fine, but the higher speed increases the mechanical load and they eat front bearings. I put an ARC PWM16-12 on each Fan, just tied the activation lead and the power lead to the output of the relay and grounded it. No More fans dieing. Love the car! wondering if you may want to tune your traction control to be a tad more aggressive, I'd bet that the repeated wheel slip and bouncing off the rev may have smoked the trans, hard to fight greasy tracks like that.
Could just wire in a resister into the fan circuit. Then one would not have to worry about off the shelf fans so much. I wish parts stores would just carry brushless but you can't really get much nowadays unless you order it.

you could try to wire the fans in series to cut the voltage in half. and see if they move enough air still and they might last longer.

Add a resistor in the positive line to reduce the fan voltage. Assuming a 10 Amp draw a 1 ohm resistor should get you close.
Yeah those fans don’t like 16 volts.

He just needs a voltage reducer unit. There's several good brand ones for about $200.

They can road trip in a 2 door coupe, but COULDN'T road trip in a 4 door wagon, even if it was running!

Kevin of KSR had the same problem of fans burning up till he found one that can handle 16v. Give'em a call if you'ven't already.

Kevin at KSR was plagued by fan problems until he sourced some 16v fans.
Kyle is such an experienced, competant race mechanic in his own right ! I would happily let him work on any of my vehicles 👍

It sucks having to fix transmissions multiple years in a row but if you have to do it, Kevin's shop is a darn nice place to do it in.
