    In this video, learn how to remove canna lily bulbs from containers and then transplant them into new locations in our yard (Zone 8B). If you live outside of the zone range of 8-12 for hardiness, then you will need to dig up and overwinter your lilies in a protected location. Susan's video we linked above has great info to do this, and she is pretty awesome.     Hi, I have about 2-3 foot canna plants in the ground. I would like to dig one up and give it to a friend to put in her garden. Is it likely to survive if dug up and put in a new garden? Many thanks

    Thank you for sharing your expertise. Sean, it looks and sounds like you need very strong arms and hands to divide the cannas. Are there other ways to successfully do this? How 'forgiving' are they?
