    Hi. Wondering how you connected to wi-fi, and is there an app on your phone I suppose? I keep reading that it has it, but don't see anything in the manual, and was hoping this video might address that. Lot of good information on the video still though.

    The first checking this, my feed rate is at 12. Is that the default? What would recommend for doing beef jerky? 180 or 200? A lower feed rate in the edge case? Thx.

      I smoked some pork belly to make bacon at 200 degrees. It was about 85 degrees outside, I had to lower the min setting to 5 from the default of 9...otherwise the grill was just sticking at about 275 and Mode 2 would just skyrocket to 300 and stay up there when set to 200 degrees. So far the grill is great, I just find having to do this adjustment annoying, my old GMG Davy Crockett always just did what I set it to, give or take 15 plus or minus degrees. At 250 degrees or more I have done no adjustments and seems to work fine.

      WiFi would completely change what they are trying to do. They want to stay at at a certain competitive price point while making a very good quality product.
      Once you add wifi it's going to increase the base price significantly. I personally do not care for wifi.
      I would never leave my smoker unattended nor do I think it's smart.

    If that control board dies and it needs to be replaced, how easy or difficult is it? Is it as easy as removing those two screws I see and removing the wires and replacing the wires back where they are supposed to go?

    • @GrillaGrills
      @GrillaGrills  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a roughly 20 minute process, pretty much exactly how you described it. What takes the longest is just feeding the wires where you need them to be, and making sure they're in the right position.
      Pretty simple for the average person! Here's a video where we show people how to do it!

    Just replaced my old board with the New Alpha Smoke. Just installed today. It is 85 degrees out side here is Phx, Arizona. At any temp setting 180-240, the grill stays at 240degrees, I can not get it cooler. When I go up say 275 it does an awesome job at holding the temp. So how will I be able to get the temp down? Do I need to change the precision controller number?

      Yes there are adjustments on the controller to help the grill come down in temp. Give us a call and we'll be glad to help! 616-392-7410 or email us at grillmaster@grillagrills.com.

    I’ve had to lower my min setting all the way down to .4 here in the hottest of days in Las Vegas. The chart included is a guideline. Even today at 93 degrees according to the weather, the internal temp was measuring 105 when I first powered it on. I’ve dropped to .6 now and it’s beginning to look a bit more accurate. Is this considered a reasonable outcome or so I need to contact support?

    • @aaronalan2488
      @aaronalan2488 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Mark Graham okay glad it’s considered normal behavior. Always keep it in the shade. It’s just really harsh out here during the summer time. At .4 I got within 20 degrees of my target temp. I just adjust for the delta. Thanks for the help/confirmation 😁

    The alpha Control won’t work . I’ve done a hard reset five times thrown away the app reinstalled it done everything I can and it still drops the Wi-Fi. When I do get it through Wi-Fi, it immediately overheats and shuts down. Very unhappy with gorilla grills.

    • @dob3079

      one is PID mode it keeps temps within 5-10* and mode two is a swing mode that makes more smoke but less consistent temps

    This may sound like a dumb question, but I was wondering say I set my silverback at 275 it ends up going to around 290 so do I need to turn my grill down to like 260 to get it to stay at 275?

    • @GrillaGrills
      @GrillaGrills  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not a dumb questions, but no, don't do that. The grill is adjusting, allow it to work out the temperature on its own. Trust the grill.

      I was just doing some research on this as well. I live in Texas and it's the beginning of summer. Ambient temperature is in the mid 90's and my Silverbac stays somewhere from 25-30 degrees hotter than the set point.

    • @ColorfulRevolution
      @ColorfulRevolution 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      ryanweary I live Southern California and its hot right now. I did the whole mode, up and down settings and set it to 4 and now the temperature is usually +/- 5 degrees. Play with those settings. I’m guessing the hotter the ambient temperature, the lower the number.

    What in the hell is "PID" I hate when people expect everyone to know what abbreviation mean!??

    • @GrillaGrills
      @GrillaGrills  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The best way to explain this, without getting into really complex terms, PID mode is a way of cooking that will give you more precise temperature control. It's best used for things like baking, pizzas, and other high-temp cooking where you want the grill to sustain a certain temperature with little variance.
      Pro mode, the other mode we have, is exclusive to our controllers. It's has a little bit more variance built into the temperature control, but that leads to increased smoke production.
      Hopefully this helps explain the difference between the two modes!
