I've seen him tell another version of the Brando story where he states Marlon didn't go home he actually had been visiting the doctor ! R.I.P. Both ❤ 🙏

One of the best actors ever. To me, he always chews up the scenery. Naturally.

One of his greatest roles was as Napoleon in the film Waterloo. I wonder what Marlon Brando thought of hisperformance since he had played Napoleon too in Desiree.
Undoubtedly Rod Steiger was one of the greatest, if not the greatest actor who ever lived.

Such energy, you can see he loved the limelight and deservingly so. I most of his movies he was in he demands the attention and delivered. Intense and heartfelt

To me Rod will always be Komarovsky. He played the part so well and Komarovsky is such an intricate character.

You have to wonder about his relationship with his son. He talks far more about his daughter than his son, who he refers to as “the boy”, which to me sounds rather cold. Nearly impossible to find anything about the son. He would be 29 years old now. I found two links, one where it lists him as living in Ann Arbor, MI and another where is said he moved from there to Austin, TX and is a freelance trombonist. I think his mother Paula Ellis might have died. She was listed as deceased in the same links I found. That’s got to be hard to be that young and have both of your parents gone. He would have been 9 yo when RS died.

A great actor without a doubt, but when he was with Barbara Stanwyck,he was physically abusive with her.Eventually she confided in someone who knew a few people with mob connections ,and Steiger was 'spoken to'-the abuse ceased.

You'd think that you would have more manners than to resort to petty name calling over an error on my part,I believe it was george C.Scott and not Mr.Steiger- I apologise for an error, unintentional, but i do not apologise for calling you an ill mannered, arrogant little prat who probably lives in an attic and spends his entire day on a key board. There will be no further correspondence,i have much better ways to spend my days.

@johnthorpe8930 George C.Scott threw a couple of punches when he was married to Colleen Dewhurst (they were married twice) but she would match him punch for punch 👊 she was a take no crap from anybody lady 😉 😅
