The Jacksons (Michael, Jackie, Tito, Marlon, Randy, LaToya, Janet) participated in the Rock 'n' Roll Sports Classic (May 3rd, 1978), an ABC special that pitted music stars against one another in a series of athletic events. Michael participated in the men's 60-meter dash (placing 6th / eight) and in the swim relay and the tug o' war, with his team winning each of these events, as well as the overall competition.
Participants included: Boston, The Commodores, ELO, Gladys Knight and the Pips, The Jacksons, Earth, Wind & Fire, The Runaways, Seals & Crofts, Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis, Jr., Rod Stewart, The Runaways, Kenny Loggins, Tanya Tucker, and Leif Garrett.

I 💕 love this video with my Favorite ❤️ Group The Jacksons l remember watching this in real time I was in middle school back in 1978 in the Eighth Grade back when this show aired on CBS it was Jackson mania for me I 💕 was in The Jacksons FAN Club back then in 1978 l record Ed this Rock and Roll Sports Classic on my little cassette tape recorder and listen to it time and again 💖 for a long time I love ❤️ seeing Michael Jackson with his brothers The Jacksons they were a ♥️ Beautiful Group.We all love ❤️ and Miss Michael Jackson he Left us Way too 💕 Soon Rest in Power Michael Jackson. I remember watching this as a kid.. I believe the event was called "Battle of the Network stars".
I had seen photos of Michael from this, but never saw it before, it was a little before my time! I figured Jackie would be best at athletics!

@@GalaxyNexus1 thanks. ExactlyI was born in 77 and things still looked like this for a while because culture takes a while to catch up to celebrities.... So it was later for us when things got to neon colors and perms and stuff. My sister still had feathered hair and everyone still wore those shirts with white piping and tube socks. It is so nice to be defended by a logical stranger. Thanks so much!
