I have a leak from the cab locking mechanism. I noticed it’s not bad yet.

Before it completely fails, just fix it. It's much harder when you can't remove it. It really only takes about an hour from start to finish. Much harder if your cab can't be lifted!

Great catch on add a oil lubricator to the system.

I think much like rebuilding a brake master cylinder... after the fact the air would need to be brake fluid in order to work. So when you pumped the manual pump it probably forced the needed hydraulic fluid in the air over hydraulic pump. Made it work. Great video!

Yeah, after thinking about it some more that did it or I pushed the air out hoking the lines up the wrong way.

@@CallMeColtLLC what's your plans with the m1078? I'm turning mine into a camping rig.

@@0.0.0.0.1 Right now, I just want to get it mechanically 100%. Then, I may make it a dump bed & put a small crane on it.

That is a nice mod! Great idea and it fits beautifully. I like it! Yeah, purging or bleeding the hydraulics is funky. When I first got my "parts" truck "PARTriSha," I had to do a lot of cycling and bleeding to get things back working since it had sat for so long. That was back before I got the hang of things, if you know what I mean. Keeping pounding away... these are really some capable rigs when they get maintenanced. I rebuilt the air dryer today... I was horrified at what I found.

My air dryer is on the list for the next video. I bet it's going to be bad! I may just upgrade it if it looks real nasty as I have a newer style one.

I've had that rebuild kit for about a year. I'll get to it one of these days 😄

I hope to have these problems someday soon.

The reason you were having problems is because you forgot about the bleeding procedure which you figured out in the end with the manual hand pump. This is often overlooked when rebuilding these. The other thing to do is leave the cab up and manually lower it with the hand pump which will purge the lines also. Pesky little rebuilds but you will never have to do it again...

I figured it was something like that. I had watched the video where you had rebuilt yours and remembered that it took a while for it to prime or whatever. it's much better than pumping it up and down by hand all the time!
