Don’t forget to subscribe to the channel, appreciate all the feedback from everyone. Planning on doing another drone review since people enjoyed this so much! If you plan on this drone I put the link in the description for the best price I could find!
All, I apologize I haven’t responded to a lot of these comments lately. Plan on getting back on to providing as much info to help a potential buyer. The one item I’d like to note is that the return home button will return the drone to the takeoff location, not where you are currently standing. Learned this from experience when I took off on a moving boat and hit return home to see the drone flying back to where it took off.
Hi , I just purchased this hs 720 and figured out that the phone holder works great just pull it out all of the way and then fold down the little latch that holds your phone from falling out. I have a Samsung Note 8 in a case and it stays in there fine.
I got the same drone about a month ago! Through my research it was the best beginner drone for the money. Holy Stone has a good reputation for great customer service and quality. It seems super easy to fly and its interphase with my cell phone was way easy to set up. I never flew a drone previously but was able to get up and fly with relative ease of use. From a technology perspective, not that hard to set up and get operational and set up!! The camera on the drone does its job and for the money works well. A DJI Mavic will have a more stable image along with accident avoidance but look how much more money you are spending. For me the Holy Stone was the one for me. I need a few more batteries for mine, given the length of time it takes to charge which is my only gripe but again for the money, I can handle it.
Update 7-12-2020 *** Thanks to Selina Xu, my confidence has been restored in Holy Stone *** She contacted me on FB about my unhappiness that a drone that I had only flown maybe 10 times wouldn't response to the controller. She expedited a NEW drone from Amazon which included everything and also upgraded it to 4K for Free! Thanks for excellent customer support!
I just purchased this drone yesterday for about 200 bucks including shipping. I love it it has been the best one I've flown so far. Thanks for the great video.
I love how your fish was just chilling out, completely motionless while watching you record a vid, and then freaked right out at 13:15 when you took off.
I Have the HS120D, Its a really good, durable and sturdy Model, it survived about 7-12 crashes... Soon I'm getting the HS510D, which is closest to the Military Grade drones that we have in California
Very good review from an owner of one. Nice inclusion of video from the drone and the honest pros and cons. Well done! 👍Definitely thinking of going this route for the features and build quality versus saving a few bucks and being totally disappointed and stuck with crap for the trash. Thanks again.
When I first did that with the phone that happened also. but if you pull it harder you will see that it comes out more. And You can set your phone in it.
Hey Willy. Nice review. One way to get around the phone popping out issue might be to mount the phone (or better still a larger tablet) on a tripod and use a longer cable to connect the phone or tablet to the controller so you are only holding the controller in your hand and not the phone or Tablet that is mounted on a tripod in front of you. Separate the two.
I was very close to buying one, but the need for calibration for every use, turned my passion off, so I bought dji mavic mini bundle for $499., size & range was very convincing, coming in this week, hoping for no regrets, good luck for you all.
@@markfults1693 yea, that is an issue, if you don't have a compatible phone; me I was forced to switch from a motoe5 plus to a samsung's galaxy A20; no issues so far.
Willy. I'm not sure if you still have this drone but I just got one yesterday and the owner notified me that the cell phone holder extends more than it initially seems like. You have to pull a little harder on it to get it extended all the way.
It took me a while to figure this out after I got mine, but there is a few more things to that phone holder. 1 it tilts forward to uncover the buttons a little bit. 2 it has a little flap right where the bottom of your screen sits that you can fold down that helps to grip the phone.
i had problem with phone holder, You need to pull the phone holder really hard to get it out, till it sounds like it gonna break, works with iphone 12 pro max (with cover)....nice video thanks
My phone kept popping out too. Make sure you pull the holder strait up ALL the way. I discovered the little fold out flap at the bottom of the holder that flips out for the phone to sit on. It i not easy to open the flap, fingernail or pocket knife. Then, once the phone is in its place, tilt the phone toward you, and it will click in place.
How's it going over there? Holding tight here. I seen on Ebay they have the HS720 with 3 bat. Offering 78 minutes of fly time. The batteries come in 2nd package from China. What your thought?
theartman410 this is hard to answer but just some advice that I would give you is to make sure you review the seller from eBay and make sure he has a good rep.
The reason your iPhone falls off the transmitter is because you haven't unfolded the little bottom support piece from the phone holder. Near the bottom of the spring loaded phone holder is a little fold-out tray. I had the same problem of having my phone sitting on the transmitter until I made this discovery.
What drone would you recommend in this price range for the most features? I don’t want to spend the price of the DJI but I do want a drone with 4K gps and flow positioning and decent battery I have seen tons of them but not sure the beat deal. Would you still recommend this model or do you have a better one now?
great review. My only question is that video seems to be a bit shaky. I am torn between this or DJI MAvic Mini... I did notice the DJI Mavic mini having a better stable video. Or am I wrong. Thanks again for your video AKA Sonofseattle
Bro can you not see how wobbly that is when you have that thing in flight? And you’re thinking that that’s really good I guess because you’re still relatively new at this but that is actually horrible and very hard on the eyes. If you get into the DJI drones you won’t have that wobbling and shaking it’s perfectly smooth with an amazing gimbal that holds super steady for perfect videoing. Great one for you to get and start with is the DJI Mavic Mini. Then graduate to the DJI Mavic Air 2.
I just bought one. Waiting for delivery. If I click return to home will it take the exact same path back to me? Like if there are trees in between the drone and I will it crash them?
@@willygsoutdoors4344 yeah retuning mine today didnt even open it gonna go with the FIMI X8SE 2020 instead since my phone is not compatible with the dji mavic mini

The phone hold part of the remote you have to pull it out until it pops it almost fills like its gonna break once its pulled all the way out there is a holder that folds out on bottom it hold the phone a lot better. It took me a while before I figured this out and I kept dropping my phone also lol. Thanks for sharing great honest review have great day
Hey, Willy, just watched your Holy Stone hs720 video. Just bought one, first drone ever. Lots of fun. One point that you missed and I almost did as well: when you pull out the tray on the controller for the smart phone, you need to pull it out further than you did in your video. Grasp it VERY firmly thumb on top and two fingers underneath TIGHT to the controller body. It will actually come out a bit and then a final pull will bring it out all the way. You can then tilt this entire part up 30-degrees as is noted in the instructions. There is also a piece that flips up to hold the edge of the smartphone nearest the controller body once it's pulled out this far and tilted up. It would have helped greatly if Holy Stone had made this more clear in their instructions! Thanks for a great job on the review btw! Bob
I actually called Holy Stone about the phone problem, because I have the EXACT same problem. They recommended buying the Anbee Foldable phone/tablet extender for about 17 bucks on Amazon. But I hacked it with a couple of pieces of velcro tape, which is a huge pain in the ass while I’m waiting for this extender to arrive, sometime between June 17th and my death. Oh, and Holy Stone won’t pay for the extender. Don’t even ask.
I just got a silverlit drone and wish I would have not it’s so hard to fly it’s a cheap pos and now I want this one after seeing the video and love the bass in the tank
I was looking at the Holy Stone HS120D and I'm now considering this one. The only thing stopping me from buying it is the WiFi, I'm not sure if my Moto G5 plus is compatible with 5G networks, and I don't want to spend more $ to upgrade to a new phone. Great review Willy!
I have 3 phantoms, they all work wonderfully. I bought the 720E cause I have spare money laying around and I need a new toy. If you got the dough, buy the DJI.
The Con for not having enough room to support his phone is misleading. The arm at the top actually extends out a bit farther and holds the phone away from the controller to allow access to the buttons.
hello maybe you can help me buy one a few days ago I did all the steps to connect and I am having problem since in application the drone camera on my phone does not work only once and could connect the camera
I’m having a little bit of trouble understanding the problem but my first idea for you is to be sure that you are connecting your phone to the drone through WIFI settings on your phone. If you have an iPhone go to the Settings App, click WIFI and connect to the one labeled Holystone. Hope this helps!
The problem I have had with this drone and the HS720E is that both my original did a fly away, now having flown drones since 2018 I think I may have got the hang of it by now, each fly away did the same, after setting things up and then starting within minutes the drone decided to fly to its left so on pressing RH nothing happens, I then try to control the drone myself again nothing so in total I have lost the following 1xHS720E & HS720G being fair to Holy Stone they have replaced all the fly aways I've had, so far play to then. ~In my opinion there is something not quite right withe the drone / controller or both which needs sorting, I'm sure that Holy Stone can't keep replacing these fly aways. All that said I'm still of the option that these drones perform and look good despite the obvious. So for now I'll keep my fait hin Holy Stone.
Mine is supposed to arrive today.. I live around a bunch of trees and I'm hoping it flies high enough to clear the trees. Have you gotten yours yet. How high can it safely fly..
I saw this compared to a mavic 2. And the mavic cam made holy stone cam look horrible when compared. The holy stone looked like it was filming in LA filled with smog. The mavic was clear as can be. But no wonder it’s 600 more
This picture quality from the mavic to the holystone is quite a drastic difference. The main thing that stands out for me is the stability of the image, many times the holystone will cut out or blur when drone is moving. In hand like you said 600 price difference. The mavic mini might be the move.
Got my HS 720 for $230, less a $50.00 Amazon coupon. with 2 Batteries. My phone was poppin out of the holder until I pulled the phone holder up to a second click where there is a little base for the phone. Flying it is a breeze. If you write a positive review on Amazon, Holy Stone will send you another battery, a $98.00 value. This is a great learning drone, soon I'll have the confidence to get the much more costly DJI Drone.
That phone holder pops out further, just when you think it’s fully opened, you need to tug on it a little harder. Then you lift a tab in the centre. Should hold your phone better.
Your phone holder will actually pull out farthur than you think. When you pull it out, it will stop and you'll think that's it, but give it a nice tug and it will click out one more notch. This video at 4:47: th-cam.com/video/w9T9zMeuOXU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JN7C6-8y8iq-vD9D

Dude, the phone mount tilts forward. There's a button on the bottom front I believe and when you push it the phone mount tips forward a bit. Then it doesn't fall out. You're welcome.
Good content in your video. Being bothered by calibrating drone before flight is like a pilot being bothered by a preflight and having to fuel the aircraft. Part of it sir. Have fun.
I actually own an hs720 great drone. The video on this drone isn't great but for under 300.00 it's ok. I agree with the blades in view kind of annoying not a deal breaker just annoying. Great flying time over all it's a pretty solid little drone with a nice case. I did a review on Amazon and got a free battery so that was a good deal. Holystone in this case made a great product for the money. M
Thanks for this review I have a Mountian biking channel and am looking for my first drone to bring my footage to the next level and I have been thinking about buying this or a Mavic mini based on the price this is a little cheaper and may suit my needs fine for now
Just got my HS720 today, planning flights this weekend after FAA registration. I had a Syma X5SW just to try flying for a while. ALL manual controlling. Boy is the HS720 an upgrade!
Thanks for the vid, I thought the onboard quality would be better though. I also keep looking for the next budget quad but always end up knowing this. I have a few Parrot Bebop 2's, y'all should check out some sample videos here on TH-cam, I have my maiden flight uploaded here and flying it was super easy. Flies 25 minutes, long range, rock steady video and usually in good condition or refurbed or Ebay or Amazon for around $250. Trust me, world of difference in video quality and flight capabilities. I just sent back my second Mavic Mini, told them to refund me due to constant issues. If and when I get another new drone it'll be the Parrot Anafi, refurbed on Ebay for around $385-$400. MJX is good but Parrot is just better and a hell of a value. Subbed for the brotherhood, keep up the good work.

Thanks for the feedback and help!
@@willygsoutdoors4344 Did this work for you?
Your phone holder will actually pull out farthur than you think. When you pull it out, it will stop and you'll think that's it, but give it a nice tug and it will click out one more notch. This video at 4:47: th-cam.com/video/w9T9zMeuOXU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JN7C6-8y8iq-vD9D
New version is out h720E with 4k EIS
What does the EIS stand for and is that the only difference?
@@willygsoutdoors4344 Electronic Image stabilization aka anti-shake , it's the digital electronic equivalent of a gimbal camera , stable video recording ,no blurriness , also has 4k ,other than that it's same as h720 , same Battery , same case etc
Wow, you can notice in my videos that’s the biggest problem with the hs720. Thanks for your feedback!
@@willygsoutdoors4344 my H720E arrived yesterday ,I haven't opened it it's still sealed , selling it on eBay will get a dji mini 2 referbished ln eBay in the summer.
Do you believe that dji mini is better?
Thanks for the video. The look on your face when you started flying it was great because you knew it was going to the ceiling! So did you do a lot of research before choosing this one. I did and I think after watching this video I'm going to buy this one. ✌️
Mine will be here today. Boom !!
@Mike WV it works well. Does whatever it is designed to do. I like it.
Ok drone, but for the price you can buy the x12 aurora or xiaomi a3. Both of these have stabilized camera's and greater transmission distance.
Thanks for the feedback!!
Nah, this $180 now...👍🏼👍🏼
Dude, the phone mount tilts forward. There's a button on the bottom front I believe and when you push it the phone mount tips forward a bit. Then it doesn't fall out. You're welcome.
if you pull the phone mount up abruptly it'll pop up more and and you can pull the little tray out that the phone sits on
Is that a Smallmouth Bass? Because it’s doing a great impersonation of one!
Largemouth!
Good content in your video. Being bothered by calibrating drone before flight is like a pilot being bothered by a preflight and having to fuel the aircraft. Part of it sir. Have fun.
Great video dude 👍
13:18 watch the fish! LOL
Thanks for this review I have a Mountian biking channel and am looking for my first drone to bring my footage to the next level and I have been thinking about buying this or a Mavic mini based on the price this is a little cheaper and may suit my needs fine for now
From the comments apparently the mavic mini takes better video but is a little more expensive. One of those give and take scenarios
On mine the camera does not move up or down
This should happen, the way to move the camera is spring action wheel on the top right side of the controller. Hope this helps!
pretty cool review, thanks
Just got my HS720 today, planning flights this weekend after FAA registration. I had a Syma X5SW just to try flying for a while. ALL manual controlling. Boy is the HS720 an upgrade!
Do you REALLY need to register the drone?
I agree with you,the phone holder sucks. My Motorola 5g us doesn't fit in it,or doesn't stay in it.I Ron the app on my iPad. Thank you for the video
In the market for a Drone so this was a great review with All the important points I needed to know, Thanks again.
Awesome to hear, glad this helped you out!
Go for the bebop 2 only a $100 dollars more but way better quality
Your Oscar thought it was a gaint bug, do you hand feed it? Feed mine beef heart by hand got huge. Had him Jumping clear out of the tank for it. He die trying to get a bug off the top of the cover over night. Jumped out of the tank. Had him a long time.
Great review! I am looking into getting a new drone this spring.
Appreciate the feedback hope this helps your future spending!
I have yet to see a smooth video. These cameras seem to be terrible. I'm guessing it's because of no gimbal head?
th-cam.com/video/2-YqhLqrB7A/w-d-xo.html
I have the HS720E model and that is video i shot with it.
My playback was only 720p, so the video probably didn’t look as good as it could have
It is a good drone having problems with the app use two different Motorola and Verizon samsung
#1 con is incorrect just pull it further out and a tab comes out to hold the bottom of phone. Had the same problem at first with my i-phone 6 plus
Plenty of comments regarding this
Great video... I am going to getting one of the Holystone HS 720. Great info. Are you from Northern Ohio. I am over in Southern Lorain. See a lot of people in your county is getting the virus. Be safe.
Thanks for the comment if your going to buy one use the link in the description for the best price out there. Yes I’m from Northern Ohio, appreciate your concern stay safe as well and don’t forget to subscribe!
@@willygsoutdoors4344 I did subscribed, Thanks
Nice one, I just started flying also.
Me, too! so much to learn!
The phone holder is supposed to be able to angle up at 30 degrees, haven’t figured out how yet
when u put your phone in u pull that farther and there's a flap for the bottom
Good review
You have to pull the phone holder all the way up and in the botton it is ... down there is the extra pin your phone settles into. I think I saw it in one of the reviews on YT. or U can check on holy stone. :) Nice review btw
Awesome feedback thanks for subscribe and comment!
Good stuff. I had a small drone recently that came with a small bag like that. Definitely nice. I'd recommend you go to Amazon Affiliates and get a link to share with people this way if they buy one you get a small commission. People generally don't mind doing that for you.
This is awesome information I’m definitely going to look into this. Thanks for the feedback Sean!
Thank u bro
$180 usd right now. Just copped!
@Angaste Dandil website says for 5 hours more. Newegg dot com search it from google
I have one of theses drones and every now and then it goes haywire and does not respond or starts flying where it wants , had to repair it , good little drone for the money but beware !!!!!
Glad i held out and got the 720E for $305
I'm sorry guys,i cancelled and got the DJI mini 2
Mine came with 2 batteries for $250
My neighbor went to a pawn shop and got a phone that fits perfectly. You don't have to activate the pawn shop phone.
Nice drone!
Thank you!!
Put some tiger oscars in that 55g
Hey.
Camera isn’t that stable, it jitters a lot.
