I am trying to find out if I can download a MAP into this watch ...... the manual that comes with the watch seems to indicate this is possible ..... can you clarify ?
@@DebRoo11 I have had the watch (Forerunner 255) for 6 months now .... and I have explored everything on it and I can tell you emphatically it does NOT support maps ..... you can download courses and "follow the line" on a white background...... you can record your track as you hike (even use trackback) .... but everything is just a track on a white background (to avoid confusion they should NOT be using the word "map" with this product )...... the so-called "map" screen shows waypoints, tracks and courses all on a white background .....
As of the moment the Garmin FR255 has a basic map display which will only display a route, but not any streets or street names. The Garmin 955 on the other hand has extremely detailed mapping.
Why is is that the face with the pic with the weather on it sometimes goes away and goes to the other watch face. It’s annoying. I always want to see the weather. Anyone?
Hi guys. I have a question. Is this watch good for hiking/trekking? I mean, after my trip when I update my tour it will show il exactly on map as on Google maps (for example)?
Can we upload gpx file to 255?
Thank you for the video. It cleared up a few things for me.
This is a great, really informative video. Thank you!

very well presented but I was hoping it would show you the turns like it does with the bike nav

Any idea how can I add ski-touring mode to this watch? Maybe third parties?
Multi sport activity, XC ski/hike for the ascent, ski for the descent
Why there is no "navigation" app like on the instinct that is very useful
what is your main screen , i like that view! thanks for nav
@@Matthew-px9nu did you find out?

So happy it helped you!
I can't either create new course on my 255

If it goes away it means the watch hasn't received an updated forecast from your phone.
@ ah. Ok is there a setting where I can make it do updates more frequently?
I can't see anything on the screen of this video

Watch is too dim.
Basically it's about as good as the original etrex from 1999 lmao.
