New UNO MAS Levels Show Mario Maker 2 Is Working Perfectly...

- With the newest update in Mario Maker 2 being out for about two weeks, people are already discovering new and unique properties to the different items added. Version 3.0 is already amazing and I hope it will keep delivering new ideas for level creators!
For those that don't know what an UNO MAS level is, essentially it's a short level made to showcase something neat, unique, silly or glitchy in Mario Maker 2. Typically, once figured out, these levels will take under 30 seconds to beat...but those 30 seconds are usually filled with eye opening moments. Let's dive into these levels!

18:00 You might remember that in MM2, RNG resets every time you go through a pipe. The only exception are keys, which can change the RNG a little bit depending on how many you have when coming out of the pipe. The acorn seems to move entirely based upon RNG in ground night mode. This maker has set up the level so perfectly that he can decide how the acorn moves when you exit a pipe, probably something very difficult to do.

That's great. You can use this to detect a user's progress through a level by putting keys around the level and making them go through pipes.
But the acorn method only works in ground night.

Basically, when mario, Luigi, toad and toadette hits a checkpoint, looses a power-up or gains a power-up, the game lags a bit, and you can create contraptions which notice the lag and does something! I'm sure Ceave did something about this!

That last acorn one was amazing! According to a wiki, the acorns in ground night theme "randomly" choose between short bounces and high bounces. Between that and this level, what I think is happening is that the acorn is randomly choosing what height to bounce out (linearly, not just high vs low), and in SMM2 the RNG is much less random than it was in SMM1 (Ceave made a video on that). So the first half of the level is somehow seeding the RNG based on either the positions of the power-ups or something else to precisely control the height of the acorn's bounce, and thus the power-up it hits.
I'm wondering myself if it had to do with the keys he picked up which helped determine the rng or some sort of entity control maybe. Makes me wonder if he had collected all of the keys in the beginning then just went back to the first fire flower slot, if it would still work or would it mess up
@@xxmurianrayxx4584 If I remember right from Ceave's video, the RNG seed is determined by input sequence, so it wouldn't be the keys, but going backwards would be different input and that might affect it.
