Thank You for your videos with their details which so help in understanding. Has anyone unrolled a scrubber to then be able to cut the then tubular coil of wire into bits of coil in an approximation of SPP? I would think this would make for very uniform column packing without need for packing it down or risk of over-packing with the bits cut to the right length. Perhaps a bit of repetitive hand work to additionally occupy some sitting time.
Hi James. Thank you for your comment. I have tried to cut a scrubber in small pieces, but without unrolling it, just as it was. After cutting the scrubber I saw that is was going to be very impractical as it turns into A LOT of uneven (and small) pieces that would have been impossible to clean. It might have worked as column packing, but cleaning it would have been a nightmare! :) :) Happy distilling! Kind regards. Louwrens
Thank you sir. Really appreciate your kind comment. Yes, the 1 metre column is packed top to bottom full of scrubbers and about 60cm of copper mesh. In this video the extension is also fully packed with scrubbers. Cheers. Louwrens
Nice to know. I use stainless and a roll of copper mesh. Not too sure if the copper really does anything. But I do need a longer column. Thanks again for another great video! Cheers.

Thank you. When I distill any sugar wash these days I don't use any copper at all. Cheers.
