Honestly, my favorite part about Raiko is that it's implied that she got her power from the Taiko Drum Master series. Granted, if you take Portable DX into account, it's a pretty busted power, since Raiko can just repel giant meteors.
@@crystaljon How about destroying a dark dragon, a time lord, the god of a cult, the Daidarabotchi and a dickish clown? Those are all thing that Don-chan defeated with the power of drum music
After all these while, with the newer games that came out, yeah, I also feel that DDC is one of my favourite main Touhou games to date. Even in Easy it's not that easy like with WBaWC, but it's not weirdly hard as well like with LoLK where resource gathering requires precise grazing. From all the games currently, I find myself replaying DDC the most, followed by MoF (because I still want that normal ending, darn Kanako) Now we going back to Mugenri... again again!
A useful part of this game's resource system that you never brought up is how bombing counts as entering the point of collection. So, if there are enough items onscreen to 2.0 but no safe path upwards, you can bomb to collect the life piece. Sixth Drum "Alternate Sticking" is especially scary as MarisaB because bombing only puts you in more danger. Raiko's invulnerable for as long as the Magic Absorber stays onscreen, but as your bomb moves upwards it'll stop protecting you. Bombs can't be used while a bomb is onscreen, so you'll face another bullet wave while bomb sealed. On top of it all, the attack becomes stronger as time goes on whether or not you're damaging it. Good thing this game has spell practice.
I've said it before, but I don't think it gets said enough: You (and the funny editor) are great. Looking forward to see what Doujin games get played. I'd recommend Frantically Forbidden Fruit, mainly because I just recently played it myself, but whatever you do, I look forward to it. :) :) :)
I like how instead of her fourth spell being called fourth drum, it is called death drum instead due to the number four being associated with death
maybe thats also why mista doesnt like 4
the spellcard clear sound was timed PERFECTLY with the beat drop at 12:09
It amused me to no end that she keep dropping full power item just to show how much magic she gathered on her own!

Well unfortunately for her, Flandre beat her to the punch in meteor dispatch.

To this day I didn't notice that Raiko has little hammers on her shoes.
I just noticed that too
Imagine not cheesing with Mari B, the video

The one with a really cool timeout spell.
Yes, really.

3:06 Did you channel the editor for a moment there
I like Raiko's face when she's confused(kinda) so much.
Now time to dive into more Le'mons. :)
Can’t believe the editor died during this one. That was crazy
raiko is zeus
why no commentaries for the last nonspell?
