I tested positive for Strep group A. It’s painful. Had white patches on my tonsils, fever, night sweats, body aches, chills, migraine, nausea and cough. Because of the cough i thought it might’ve been covid so i refused to go to the doctor. I don’t think it’s true that there’s always an absence of cough. I’m so glad my family convinced me to go to the doctor. Was prescribed antibiotics and it’s helping. Tylenol (the one for arthritis) helps A LOT too.

I went for 4 doctors
First doc gave 3 days prescription of antibiotic(ammoxilin)
Second doc prescribed zithromax (taken 3 days
3rd doc gave me the genetic brand of zithromax
4th doc gave me minocyclene antibiotic
The 4th one worked for me,at least the pain went away.

This middle aged, single Mr. Mom Thanks you deeply…for a single father in the middle of Covid with 3 kids, this type of education freely given is priceless! prompt and simplistic what more could you ask for? Defining the difference between group A and Mono with confident diagnosis is my overall goal. I don’t know why but I have to understand thoroughly anything that affects my children.

Gargle witth warm salt water 3 x a day. 1/2 c warm water & 1 tsp of salt.

Thanks doctor. Doctor I have a friend who has the same symptoms and he has been like that for three months now. But he has been on antibiotics like azithromycin , levofloxaxacirin, citrizin and predinsolen. But the condition has failed to go. It all started with sneezing in the morning. The after some days started running nose. Then sore throat and pain in the throat. Was complaining of some thing stuck in the throat. Then his voice was changing, coughing abit too. Two weaks ago was given vitamin c, fragyle, ampicillin capsules, predinsoln and cetrizin. When a doctor examined him said that his tonsils were enlarged and sinuses too. He is abit worried that it has taken long on him. But when he takes the antibiotics just gets relief abit and when they get finished it’s the same again. Please need your help. When he uses things like milk , yougurt, or beer the condition worsens. Could this be brought by acid or some thing?

Dairy causes it and the yeast in beer! Stop eating those things...your welcome😉
How did it go then?
They wont help, they can do only antibiotics ,what is fail in many cases. They treat symptoms, not a cause .Find alternative doc,there you can get rid of this.

Hey Doctor when you was speaking about moxi AB and saying it causes a flare up and rash, do you think it may be causing a herxing of the infection?
Damn it...i think i have strep a.. had tonsilitis since last week that when i go out to party ..i lose my voice if i talk too loud. After 3 days i gained my voice but right tonsil feel so painful when i swallow. Tonsils have slight small white spot about 3 in total on one tonsil.. so i am going to doctor.

Can somebody help me please? I have all symptoms of streps A including cough, vomiting, diarrhea, muscle pain and being very weak and tired. Covid test neg. just in case. I was not given any antibiotics for 6 weeks of my constant cough. Have been three times to the doctor and listened to my chest saying there wasn't any infection. I knew that there was an underlying cause for this streps bacteria. Now I suffer from the consequences of having pain in my joints and not being treated properly. My boy has developed all the same symptoms as his friends in school having streps A. High fever, vomitting, diahrea cough, being unwell, floppy chills and horrible headache. You know that doctor said there is nothing wrong with him and didn't give him any antybiotics. He suffer from such a high fever and I know he should be taken antybiotics immediately. Please help me to find the way prescibe it to him. It s too late for me to be treated properly but he is so sick and it getting worse. Can any doctor help me please?

u can have caugh with bacteria strep C also, even with A. so please stop spreading lies. people can have underlying issues which create caugh also- so obviously can caugh while having strep. common sense

I got it a couple times when I was young.
Twice as an adult….5 years apart.
It’s been 14 years….I think I have it again. Throat hurts on one side. Pain traveling to ear & throbbing up to side of my head.
I’m about to go to urgent care.

Irritation of the upper respiratory tract can initiate cough for whatever reason. When he says no cough he likely means minimal coughing compared to cold/flu infections, not no coughing at all.

No,it's not itt's bacterial infection caused by saliva or though kissing with an infected person and it's treatable thought the pain is horrible.
