Just order $750 system for my 14 RAV4. Kickers all around, 2000w Pioneer amplifier. Kicker 12 inch sub with sealed box. I'll be definitely making a video of upgrading my audio system.
Great video! I'm about to replace all the door speakers in my 05 4Runner. Does it make a difference changing the OEM 2-ohm speakers out for aftermarket 4-ohm speakers? I'll be retaining the factory JBL amps, but don't want to smoke them.
M4GHOST45 I just went to an audio shop and asked him and he said that the after markets should be fine I have the jbl sound system so I’m not sure about other models
@@gabereed8637 Awesome! Thanks for the information. I don't want to get the truck to run all new wiring for a new amplifier just yet, so it just makes sense to run the factory amp until it let's the smoke out. Thanks again.
What speaker mounts are those? I just tried to install these Alpine Type-R Coaxle 6 1/2's in the rear and the door panel wont snap back on because the speaker is too far out when installed. This could be prevented by using a lower profile bracket/mount. I was using the ones provided by crutchfield assuming they knew these would work. The one you have seems significantly lower profile than the one i attempted to use. An item # or link to ebay etc would be appreciated, thanks!
Is it really worth changing the door speakers because I installed a Subwoofer and I just didn't know if I would notice a difference if I changed out the door speakers? Thanks
Absolutely, when your subwoofer is properly tuned, and your interior speakers are replaced with decent components, the sound quality speaks for itself. A lot of the time the issue lies when the sub is too powerful for the interior speakers, and that crisp sound is lost.
Did you add an amp? Or are you running these speakers off of the head unit. I have a Kenwood Excelon head unit and is 4x50 watts and I didn't know if that is enough to power the new door speakers? Thanks
Parts used linked in the description of the video!

Nice work doing most of this one handed!
Once you popped the door loose, you talked about disconnecting the locking mechanism and the harness, where exactly is that at
thnx man...... your video helps me a lot !!!
Do you by hand know the exact adapter you bought?
Yes, linked in the description of the video!
Are the factory speakers the JBL synthesis ones?
Nope, this model wasn't equipped with JBL.
Do you have a link to the adapter and mount?

Did you add any amplifiers for these door speakers??
I wonder if there's a in-line filter, I already done this but I'm getting too much Low on rear speakers and almost nothing of Mid-High
Do you guys sell a harness adapter for the rear subwoofer in these 03-09 4runners?

I noticed you had to run the wire adapter between the metal door and speaker adapter plate. I suppose this isn't ideal? Is there another option?
There is a hole on the side of the adapter so the wires can go through before connecting them to the speakers, but he didn’t do that.
