Stockholm is the balcony guard for Megaton. You arent meant to interact with him at all, but the devs decided to give him exclusive dialog should you find a way aloft. I find this addition absolutely adorable.

@@JamsheedRpgGodBoss I have gotten up there on xbox as well, it still works to this day, you can get up on the balcony of the sheriff's house and if your patient you can scale the side of the balcony and jump onto the Stockholm's platform. There is a video on youtube that shows how to do the trick, it is a bit difficult but is cool to get the unique dialogue.
Fun fact about Moira's mercenary: in polish version of F3 he is called Mel, because of his leather armor inspired by Mad Max 2. And as we know, Max Rockatansky was played by Mel Gibson. You can also find death mercs in learher armors in few locations in Washington (i've found two, but don't remember where). They are also called Mel.

If you turn Burke into sheriff Simms and wait for him to pull his gun, then open vats and gun down Burke before he murders Simms, the quest line continues properly without Simms being killed, as he goes hostile as soon as his gun is drawn. If you already have yours out you can fire first.
eh I'll still let Simms die for that sweet ass coat of his, Burke still dies too for the Silenced 10mm, given even in my evil runs I don't blow up Megaton so that I can get access to that Bobblehead in the Simms Residence and the house you get in Megaton is in a better location from the fast travel point/front gate, plus even if my character is a psychotic, chem addicted slaver with almost 0 moral compass, racism against those just dealing with the effects of the Great War just crosses a line
Absolutely. And noone in the saloon becomes hostile toward you either. Silenced 10mm and some fancy glasses (win win). Disarm the bomb and get a free house.
found out about the burke extra dialogue on accident before, and the sniper hidden in the rock was one of the first things i knew about the game and i ALWAYS pick it up when starting a playthrough
Also wow that hollow rock is quite a godsend for new games, a mid- tier weapon at an early stage, keep it good condition and someone who sells 308 and it can carry you.
There are notes from "S" to "E" in Oblivion, Fallout 3 here, and Fallout 4 as well. It appears to be some sort of Bethesda running gag. Not sure who S and E might be, but my guess is that they refer to actual Bethesda employees, or perhaps someone close to a Bethesda employee

So there is definitely a connection. I'm guessing it's an inside joke sort of thing between developers.

You know, if you are on Tenpenny's tower and follow the railing behind so you can face the direction of the shop where you collect the Lucky's shades, you can see what is very clearly a crater in the background out of bounds. So far, there is some little growths near the edge but I can't see much beyond that yet-i am playing console only and haven't tried a sniper rifle yet. Just thought it would be fun to mention another bomb crater since this is talking about megaton.
If you run right after entering megaton for the first time and deactivate the bomb before the sheriff speaks to you, you receive a unique dialogue and you get the house + 100 caps without any speech check. My hoarder ass picks explosives as a main skills every single playthrough for a reason (also it gives the grenades in the mailbox a little extra dakka). On a similar note, you can get both rewards (the perk and the unique plasma rifle) in the Replicated Man Quest in Rivet City by talking to Harkness and then to Zimmer if I recall correctly. Both done on PC so I don't know about consoles
Also I like how you can get the quest The Replicated Man. If you go into the Megaton Clinic and go to the backroom with Doc Churches terminal you can get the holotape refrencing the androids in the Commonweath a refrence to Fallout 4
Huh, didn't know about the hollowed out rock. But I've met Sam Warrington randomly near the destroyed farm commune not far from Canterbury Commons, and he was hostile too.
I just have to say, the moment the old woman says the entire settlement was made from more than 1 plane from a close airport i was going in circles trying to find an airstrip, control tower etc like an idiot..... but at least i found a small city with guys in Black and Red power armor who bullie me! Wich i dont get so much credit because i want to have one of that armors and trying to atract enemy bears and stuff like that to their base to "earn an armor" too... But that was a missed oportunity i was expecting to find an airbase or airport. PD make more vids please you dont even end FO3 (and there are the dlc locations too) and new vegas and this series have an enormous potential.... plus i love your ironic voice and sarcasm!
Here's my little tidbit: Moira Brown's mercenary guard is actually a synth; can't remember what I did in-game that exposed the details but think that you can find out a few things at Rivet City (has been a very long time since I ran a full FO3 playthrough [like 2010]).
That would make sense, I was talking to one of the named residents of megaton and they said something along the lines of “I heard Morias mercenary never sleeps”
I don't know how "When the Chips are down" is supposed to work in Relation to the Brahmin, but in the German Translation, it goes something like "When it's about the Sausage", which actually makes Sense.
Megaton is my favorite city/hub in fallout 3 and new vegas combined. I've never nuked it and I never will. Confessor Cromwell and Lucas Simms are very very cool and awesome characters Of course I love Moira Brown The Children of Atom are my favorite faction In all of Fallout
I was kinda young when I first played Fallout 3, 12 I think, but I swear there was special dialogue by either Confessor Cromwell or his wife when you defuse the nuke. Like they got upset or something. But I've never seen it happen again so I don't know if it was actually real or just poor memory from kid me lol
Probably a common thing but it's always funny, if you noclip up to the sniper outside of Megaton he will question you on how the hell did you get up here?
If you're going to save megaton you always want to turn burke in so the sheriff will arrest him. When the sheriff gets killed you get his somewhat unique outfit a Chinese assault rifle and the key to the city's armory which has a nice few guns to get you started. You just have to kill deputy steel.
Literally jumped on the chance to blow it all up right away on my first playthrough. Somehow it was easier to be a jerk on that after playing fallout 4 first 😂

I notified the sheriff about Burke. They talked and he shot the sheriff. I reloaded and let them talk again but this time before he could shoot the sheriff I killed Burke. I haven't played since because of a crash that happened later. Does this effect the sheriff in any way? I haven't seen him since the interaction.

i think you can only get the burke dialog if you talk to burke first before disarming the bomb otherwise if you just disarm the bomb before meeting him he will simply vanish from the game

I'm sorry, maybe I missed something. But how is the first one a "secret"? So... an npc sleeps. And snores..... how is that special or at all a secret? Don't almost all other humanoid npc's have a sleep schedule? (Again, no hate intended. Just kind of confused why the first one was a secret somehow.)
